Abstract

Financial analysis of the artisanal fishery by fish catch marketingdifferences done in Bagan Serdang village, North Sumatra, using survey methodsin data collecting. Fishermen, whose fish-catch market in the government managefish landing place and in the private fish landing place were interviewed. Financialanalysis result shows that yearly income of fishing that market their catch at thegovernment fish landing place earn Rp6,045,000 in average, while at the privateone earn only Rp2,600,000 (t-observe = 3.10 > t-tabel 0,01 = 2.42), thus verysignificance in income difference due to its distinction market pattern. All fishingshow efficient, as BCR > 1 and PPC less than 1.5 years. Eventhough, most of thefishers prefer to market their fish-catch at private landing place, mainly because ofreciprocity, better service and governance in the private landing place, beside‘patron-client’ relationship, in spite of its exploitative in their traditionalrelationship but tight attachment and dependency of fishermen to the individualowner of private landing place.

Abstract

This research was conducted on Desember 2016 - April 2017. The purpose of this study is to determine the amount of fermented flour from Moringa leaf in the feed which affect the growth, feed efficiency, feed digestibility and protein retention in gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy). This study uses a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor, 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment with substitution of fermented moringa leaf flour, Controls (0: 100%), P1 (10: 90%), P2 (15: 85%), P3 (20: 80%), P4 (25: 75%). The feed contain protein of 30%. The results showed that the best result is the highest treatment from P2 (15: 85%) with a specific growth rate of 1.58% / day, feed efficiency rate of 18.44%, 73.82% of feed digestibility and protein retention 15.82%.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the Laboratory of Fish Processing Technology,Food Chemistry and Food Microbiology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine ScienceUniversity of Riau. The objective of this study was to determine the characteristics offermented tilapia fermented with different carbohydrate sources. About 5 kg fishweighting 100 gr each was taken from a fish market in Pekanbaru. Two groups of fishwas fermented repeatedly using roasted rice and fermented bamboo shoot. The fish wasfermented at room temperature for 7 days. Quality characteristics of the fermented fishwas evaluated for sensory atributes (appearance, flavor, odor, and texture), chemicalvalue ( pH, moisture, NPN, lactic acid), and lactic acid bacteria count. The fish whichwas fermented with roasted rice was characterized by appearance (attractive, clean,yellowish color), flavor (sour and salty, typical fermentation), odor (acid/alcohol, lessfresh, typical fermentation) and texture (dense, compact, chewy). Chemical value: pH(5,91), moisture (53,6%), NPN (0,12 ml/gr), and lactic acid (1,23 ml/gr), lactic acidbacteria count (5,44 x 106). Fish fermented with fermented bamboo shoot wascharacterized by appearance (attractive, less clean, opaque), flavor (sour and salty, lesssavory, not typical fermentation), odor (acids and less alcohol, typical fermentation) andtexture (elastic, compact, chewy). Chemical value: pH (5,38), moisture (59,79%), NPN(0,19 %), and lactic acid (1,71 %), lactic acid bacteria count (8,167 x 106 colony/gr).Keywords: Fermented tilapia, roasted rice, and bamboo shoots

Abstract

This research aims to see fishery development and the parts at agriculturalsector in Lima Puluh Kota regency economics. Analysis results is known duringfive development the last year aquaculture area decreased, but so the productionincreases. Pool vast average goes down 0,85%, minapadi go down 36,27%,karamba go down 19,72%, longyam go down 6,68%, temporary productionincreases 13,06%. Year 2007 fishery product 6.137,8 tons with products valuesRp 114.049,30,- million or as big as 7,86% from agricultures totals productsvalues (Rp 1.451.373,73,-). Fisheries subsectors contributions in PDRBs 2,72%,equal buildings sectors contributions (2,85%) above financial, rental, companysector contribution (2,47%, and electricity, gas, clean water sector (0,43%)

Abstract

This experiment was carried out to study the effects of leaching, composting andchill storage of shark and stingray mince on the correlation to physico-chemistryproperties changes.Three times leaching of mince fish could reduce the ureacontents of shark and stingray were 88% and 100%, respectively; with the saltsoluble protein contents were 13.52% and 13.24%, respectively. Mince fishcompositioning of shark and stingray in proportion 25%:75% gave the highestvalue of gel strength (209.29 g.cm). During chill storage of mince fish,deterioration process still occurred that indicated by increasing value of acidityand contents of base volatile compounds i.e. total volatile base nitrogen (TVBN);and tri-methyl amine (TMA); and also decreasing content of salt soluble proteinand gel forming ability.

Abstract

Daun bakau (Rhizophora apiculata) mengandung senyawa flavonoid, steroid, saponin, dan tannin yang berfungsi sebagai antimikrobial dan dapat meningkatkan kesehatan ikan. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus sampai dengan bulan Oktober 2019. Tujuan penelitian mendapatkan dosis terbaik ekstrak daun R. apiculata yang ditambahkan ke dalam pakan untuk meningkatkan kesehatan ikan yang dilihat dari total leukosit, diferensiasi leukosit, dan aktifitas fagositosis ikan jambal siam (Pangasius hypophthalmus).Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan menerapkan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dengan empat taraf perlakuandan tiga kali ulangan, sehingga diperlukan 12 unit percobaan.Perlakuan tersebut adalah P0 (pakan tanpa mengandung ekstrak daun bakau (R. apiculata), P1, P2, dan P3 pakan yang diberi kandungan ekstrak daun bakau (R. apiculata) dengan dosis 1,5 mg/kg, 1,7 mg/kg, dan 1,9 mg/kg pakan. Ikan yang digunakan adalah ikan jambal siam (P. hypophthalmus) ukuran 8-10 cm dengan padat tebar 50 ekor/m3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan penambahan ekstrak daun R. apiculata ke dalam pakan memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap total leukosit, diferensiasi leukosit, aktifitas fagositosis, kelulushidupan ikan dan pertumbuhan bobot mutlak ikan jambal siam (P. hypophthalmus). Dosis terbaik adalah 1,7 mg/kg pakan dengan total leukosit 11,17x104 sel/mm3, persentase limfosit 84,33%, neutrofil 6,67%, monosit 9,00%, aktifitas fagositosis 35,00%, kelulushidupan 94,67%, dan pertumbuhan bobot mutlak 38,93g. Kualitas air waduk selama penelitian,  suhu antara 28,2-29,50C, DO 6,4-6,9 mg/L, pH 6,1-6,8 dan NH3 0,04-0,08mg/L.

Abstract

Porong River Estuary is potentially assumed to be contaminated of heavy metals Pb, Cu and Zn from anthropogenic and industrial activities in Sidoarjo, East Java. This study aimed to analyze the difference of heavy metal contaminations (Pb, Cu and Zn) in water and sediment of mangrove ecosystem located in Porong River Estuaries in September 2014. The location of sampling was selected by purposive sampling method considering the river parts: (1) upstream, (2) downstream and (3) open sea. Analysis of heavy metal contaminations (Pb, Cu and Zn) were performed by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The average concentration of Pb, Cu and Zn in water were <0.0044, 0.0226 dan 0.3555 mg/kg, respectively. While those of Pb, Cu and Zn in sediments were 0.0648, 0.3543 and 0.5653 mg/kg, respectively. It showed significance different of Pb and Cu concentration in water and sediments. On the other hand, there was no difference of Zn concentration between those medium.

Abstract

Research oceanographie physical properties of sea water has been carried outin Tambelan Islands and surrounding waters on 4-11 November 2010 on twelveoceanographic stations, research using the research vessel KR. Baruna Jaya VIII.Research methods to measure the mass of water using a Conductivity Temperatureand Depth (CTD) 911 plus Model SBE. To measure the current using AcousticDoppler Current Profile (ADCP). The purpose of the study to determine the physicalproperties of oceanography at Tambelan and surrounding waters. From researchresult obtained by the maximum current speed 1606 mm / sec and a minimum of 5mm / sec, with the current direction Southeast 1350, 195-2400 Southwest, Northeastand East 450 30-80-1050. While the maximum temperature of 32.62 °C and 28.59 °Cminimum, maximum salinity of 32.62 per mil and a minimum of 32.01 per mil, amaximum brightness of 97.65% and 70.52% minimum, maximum chlorophyll 0.47mg / l and a minimum of 0, 19 mg / l, and maximum pH of 7.81 and minimum 7.78

Abstract

The damage rate of mangrove forests in Indonesia is considered as the fastest and largest in the world. The reduced density of mangroves can be influenced by the water quality and the organic matter content around the mangrove ecosystem, causing changes in the mangrove leaves both in the shape of the length and width. This study was conducted in the mangrove ecosystem in the western part of Dumai City, with the aim of determining the morphometric size of the leaves of Rhizophora apiculata and its relationship with the content of organic matter in the sediment. The method used in this study was survey method, where observations and sampling were performed directly in the field and some of samples were analyzed in the laboratory. Mangrove density obtained from the research results ranges from 1966.66 - 4700 ind/ha, organic matter content 10.88 -17.21%. The morphometric size of the leaf length varies from 13.03 - 15.05 cm, the leaf width varies from 4.65 - 5.42 cm, and the length of the petiole varies from 1.59 - 1.91 cm. There is no significant relationship between the mangrove leaf morphometric with sediment organic matter in the studied area.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan buah mangrove pedada(Sonneratia caseolaris) sebagai pembuatan sirup terhadap penerimaan konsumen. Rancanganpercobaan menggunakan model Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial,dengan 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu sirup buah mangrove pedada dengan kadar gula45 % (G1), sirup buah mangrove pedada dengan kadar gula 50 % (G2), sirup buah mangrovepedada dengan kadar gula 55 % (G3), dan sirup buah mangrove pedada dengankadar gula 60 % (G4), parameter yang diukur yaitu rasa, rupa, aroma dan kekentalan,nilai kadar air, nilai pH, dan kadar total asam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwanilai sensoris (rupa, aroma, tekstur, dan rasa) dari setiap perlakuan tidak berpengaruhnyata. Pada analisis kimia tidak berpengaruh nyata pada nilai kadar air dan pH, danberpengaruh nyata pada total asam. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwaperlakuan yang terbaik adalah penambahan gula 55 % (G3) yang memiliki karakteristiksirup buah pedada dengan rupa 97,50 %, aroma 98,75%, tekstur 98,75%, rasa 96,25%,dan mengandung 48,77% kadar air, pH 4,91%, dan 9,92% total asam.
