Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the maturity level of smart tourism implementation in Yogyakarta City based on three main aspects, namely destination, amenities, and hospitality. This study used a mixed quantitative-qualitative approach. Data were collected through field observations and in-depth interviews with stakeholders from the Yogyakarta City Culture Office, Tourism Office, Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA), Transportation Office, Fort Vredeburg Museum, and Sonobudoyo Museum. Eleven indicators across six sub-aspects were analyzed and scored on a scale of 1-5 and referring to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology’s smart city framework, to determine the maturity level into ad-hoc, initial, scattered, integrated, or smart. The results show that the overall maturity level of smart tourism in Yogyakarta City is at the scattered level with an aggregate score of 3.6 out of 5. The destination and amenities aspects each reached the integrated level (score of 4), while the hospitality aspect was at the scattered level (score of 3). The main strengths lie in cultural attractions, increased tourist visits, and the adoption of digital payments. The main challenges are fragmented system integration, particularly in public transportation services and tourism human resources.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the global cruise tourism industry has encouraged destinations in Indonesia to strengthen ports as gateways for international tourists. Gili Mas Port in Lombok has strategic potential due to its proximity to leading tourist destinations and the richness of Sasak culture. However, tourism promotion—particularly traditional performances as sustainable attractions—has not yet been managed optimally and in an integrated manner. This study aims to analyze tourism promotion strategies for cruise ship passengers at Gili Mas Port and to identify the challenges encountered. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using participatory observation, in-depth interviews with key stakeholders (KSOP Lembar, PT Pelindo, Tourism Office, NTB Regional Tourism Promotion Board, travel agent associations, and cruise tourists), and documentation studies. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings indicate that traditional performances are still presented mainly as ceremonial welcoming events and have not been optimally integrated into an Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) strategy. In addition, the use of digital media remains limited. The main challenges include stakeholder coordination, limited duration of cruise tourists’ visits, and the absence of a sustainable cultural promotion model. This study recommends strengthening culture-based IMC strategies to enhance the competitiveness of cruise tourism in Lombok.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Accounting Information System (AIS) effectiveness and AIS quality on organizational performance, with user expertise as a mediating variable in Village Credit Institutions (LPD) in Mengwi District. The development of information technology requires LPDs to manage financial information quickly, accurately, and reliably. However, the success of an AIS is not only determined by its effectiveness and system quality but also by the users’ ability to operate the system. This research adopts a quantitative approach, using questionnaires distributed to LPD employees who are directly involved in AIS usage. Data were analyzed using SEM-PLS to examine both direct and indirect relationships among the variables. The results are expected to show that AIS effectiveness and AIS quality positively influence organizational performance, either directly or through user expertise as a mediating variable. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the improvement of information system development, human resource capacity, and organizational performance enhancement within LPDs in Mengwi District.

Abstract

This study aims to identify potential tax liabilities resulting from differences in capital contribution values in foreign-invested companies, using a case study of PT. YEL in Badung Regency. Data collection methods included literature review and observation. The analysis was conducted by calculating interest on the debt-to-receivable relationship between the company and its shareholders, as well as potential taxes on interest income. This study also considered tax calculation options if the company experiences a loss or profit in 2022. The analysis revealed a discrepancy between the capital contribution value stated in the deed of establishment and the actual value, which resulted in the company recording shareholder receivables and requiring it to calculate interest and taxes on the difference in capital contribution in 2022.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze marketing strategies through bilingual tourism brochure packages as an effective communication medium among tourism students at STIEPARI Semarang. In the context of globalization, bilingual proficiency has become a strategic added value in promoting tourism products. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through interviews and surveys with students to identify their preferences, perceptions, and the appeal of brochures written in both Indonesian and English. The findings indicate that the use of bilingual brochures enhances information comprehension and broadens both the student audience and tourist interest in visiting tourist attractions. Brochures with attractive visual designs and simple language play a crucial role in building interest in tourism packages. Additionally, student involvement in the brochure development process fosters a sense of ownership toward the tourism product. This strategy is effective not only in an educational context but also applicable for tourism destination managers to reach both local and international markets. The study recommends the use of digital media as a complement to printed brochure distribution to expand marketing reach. These findings are expected to contribute to innovations in tourism marketing strategies based on youth participation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of tourist-chatbot interaction informativeness and halal facilities and services on destination image among Generation Z in the context of Muslim-friendly tourism at Mount Bromo. A quantitative survey approach was employed by distributing online questionnaires to 224 Muslim Generation Z respondents selected through purposive sampling. The respondents were active users of ChatGPT and had an interest in Muslim-friendly tourism at Mount Bromo. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings show that tourist-chatbot interaction informativeness has a positive and significant effect on destination image. Halal facilities and services also have a positive and significant effect on destination image. Simultaneously, both independent variables explain 60.8% of the variation in destination image. These results indicate that digital information quality through chatbot interaction and the availability of halal-oriented facilities are important factors in shaping a positive image of Muslim-friendly tourism destinations. The findings provide practical implications for destination managers to integrate reliable digital information services with halal facilities to improve destination competitiveness among Muslim Generation Z tourists.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of academic monitoring and evaluation on the length of study of students at Nusa Cendana University and identify the factors that influence it. This study is based on the phenomenon of the high number of students who do not graduate on time, which has a direct impact on the quality of institutions and accreditation of study programs. Academic monitoring and evaluation are important managerial tools in controlling and accelerating the completion of student studies. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies of policies and implementation of academic monitoring and evaluation at Nusa Cendana University. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of academic monitoring and evaluation has not been fully effective in influencing the accuracy of students' study periods. Several weaknesses were found, including minimal intensity of academic guidance, weak follow-up to evaluation results, less than optimal utilization of academic information systems, and limited intervention for students who experience study delays. The factors that influence the effectiveness of monitoring and evaluation include the capacity of the supervisor, academic management, student motivation, and institutional support. This study recommends the need to strengthen a more systematic and responsive monitoring and evaluation system, increase the role of academic supervisors, and develop data-based policies to support students in completing their studies on time.

Abstract

This study examines how digital marketing content and consumer trust shape online culinary purchase behavior in the context of rapid digital transformation. The research focused on consumers who search for culinary information and buy food products through social media and online food-delivery platforms, including GoFood, GrabFood, and ShopeeFood. Because the total population was unidentified, the minimum sample was estimated using Cochran's formula, while respondents were selected purposively based on prior exposure to culinary marketing content and experience purchasing culinary products through digital media. Data were collected from 176 respondents through an online questionnaire and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics 29. The results show that digital marketing content has a positive and significant effect on culinary purchase behavior, and consumer trust also has a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, both predictors explain most of the variance in purchasing behavior, indicating that content quality and trust operate as mutually reinforcing mechanisms in digital culinary transactions. These findings imply that culinary businesses should combine informative, visually appealing, and interactive content with transparent service, consistent product delivery, and responsive communication to strengthen consumer purchasing behavior in digital channels.

Abstract

The hospitality industry is increasingly required to implement sustainable operational practices to reduce environmental impacts. This study aims to explore the implementation of green housekeeping in a hotel in Surabaya by identifying the practices applied, the challenges encountered, and the strategies adopted to sustain successful implementation. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisor, and Room Attendant. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data credibility was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that green housekeeping has been integrated into daily hotel operations through linen reuse programs, efficient water and energy consumption, waste segregation, environmentally friendly cleaning materials, and guest environmental awareness initiatives. Nevertheless, its implementation continues to face challenges, including diverse guest preferences, high operational workloads, varying levels of employees' environmental awareness, and limitations in facilities and technology investment. To address these challenges, the hotel implements continuous employee training, resource monitoring and evaluation, guest education, cross-departmental coordination, and gradual technological modernization. The study demonstrates that successful green housekeeping implementation depends on the synergy among management commitment, human resources, operational processes, technological support, and stakeholder participation. These findings contribute to the existing body of knowledge on operational-level green housekeeping implementation and provide practical guidance for hotel managers in developing more effective sustainability strategies.
