Abstract

Konawe Utara is one of district in Southeast Sulawesi has nickel potential so that several mining companies have invested in this area. Nickel mining activities have had both positive and negative impacts. One of the visible impacts is the decline in river water quality. One of the rivers located in Langgikima Subdistrict which is adjacent to several nickel mining locations is the Molore River in Molore Village. Determination of the water quality status of the Molore River by conducting laboratory analysis of Molore River water samples on the parameters of Physics, Chemistry, Heavy Metals, and microbiological parameters. The purpose of this study was to determine the status of water quality. The method used in this study is a purposive sampling method by using the calculation of the water pollution index at the sampling location for three consecutive months. Determination of water quality status using the pollution index method according to the Minister of Environment Decree 115/2003. Based on the results of laboratory analysis, most of the parameters are still below the required quality standards. The calculation of the Pollution Index shows that the water quality status of the Molore River is included in the lightly polluted category with a value range of 1.71-2.71. The strategy for controlling river pollution can be conducted by reducing the pollution load, namely by cooperation between the community and mining companies in managing the river environment and it is necessary to carry out good management of the sediment pond at the mining site.

Abstract

Clean water is needed in fulfilling human needs to carry out all activities so it is necessary to know how water is said to be clean in terms of quality and can be used in adequate quantities in human daily activities. In terms of quality, there are several requirements that must be met, including physical quality consisting of odor, color, and taste, chemical quality consisting of pH, hardness, and so on as well as biological quality where the water is free from disease-causing microorganisms. One of the water sources that are still widely used by the people of Pulau Tenga Village, Kec. Menui Central Sulawesi Islands is dug well water. The high hardness value in the dug well water is 518 mg/L. It can be identified that the water contains lime so it is necessary to treat water in order to meet clean water quality standards. One of the efforts that must be done is to make water treatment by filtration. The design of the filter device is made of pipe measuring 3 inches. The filter material used for the bioring, water filter, zeolite, and activated carbon which is applied in a water filtration filter device with a filtration flow rate of 0.006 L/s.

Abstract

Outdoor air contamination comes from a moving source of smoke and smoke from burning vehicles such as motorcycles, cars, buses, trucks. Morosi subdistrict is an industrial area who populated by several mineral purification companies. The company certainly has considerable human resources, in which many workers use vehicles to optimize work time. Worker mobility becomes a contributor to increased burning, leftover air pollution from the transport known as carbon monoxide. Monitoring the number of carbon monoxide (CO) pollutants will be necessary in view of future effects. The CO Level measures were performed with a measuring procedure referring to the Indonesian National Standard is 19-7117.10-2005, in use of portable carbon monoxide meters. This research indicated at the morning concentration levels of gas CO on the axle road Puuruy-Morosi reached 8000 µg/Nm3 and by midday it reached 5000 µg/ nm3 and the CO concentration it’s still safe for human. But in the afternoon the CO concentration increased and reached 15000 µg/Nm3 exceeds the air quality standard of 15000 µg/Nm3.

Abstract

Nanga village is a village located in East Wawonii District which is still said lagging city. There has no effective waste disposal site, and several communities choose to throw garbage into the ocean directly and the river. So that, it can be collected and managed properly and efficiently garbage by using the planning design of an integrated waste processing site (TPST) location to handle and reduce the negative impacts of garbage. The research variable refers to regional, allowance, and placement eligibilities (SNI 03-3241-1994). Based on this research, we discover the Nanga village stated in the medium classification to develop an integrated waste processing site in East Wawonii District.

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country that actively leads development in all areas of life, one of which is the economic sector. Economic development in Indonesia is growing rapidly along with the advancement of information systems that are rapidly changing with the times. With the increasing pace of development. Therefore, this study was conducted aiming to determine the quality of sea water at Batu Gong beach, Lalonggasumeeto District, Konawe Regency in terms of physical, chemical parameters and analyze the suitability of marine tourism on Batu Gong beach, Lalonggasumeeto District, Konawe Regency in terms of water quality. The results of this study are the Batu Gong beach area on three water quality parameters that exceed the sea water quality standard for marine tourism quality standards in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of the Environment number 51 of 2004, namely the brightness at 15.00 which 2nd exceed quality standards. the temperature at 10.00 is 24°C, at 12.00 it is 26°C, at 15.00 it is 27°C exceeding the quality standard. TSS at 10.00 is 2486.66 TSS at 12.00 is 2506.66 TSS at 15.00 is 3093.33 exceeds the quality standard and in the coastal waters of Batu Gong does not exceed the sea water quality standard for marine tourism in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of the Environment number 51 of 2004.

Abstract

Along with the times, the industry in Indonesia is getting higher, especially the industry in the mining sector. Exploitation of mineral resources or minerals such as sand mining is one of the supporters of the development sector both physically, economically and socially. This study aims: (1) to find out the sand mining activities in the Lemo river body in Nambo Village, (2) to determine the effect of sand mining activities on the quality of pH, TSS, brightness, and water temperature in the Lemo river. The results of the analysis of the Lemo river water sample at the Environmental Engineering laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah Kendari University, showed that the pH value of the sample point 1 was 7.3, sample II was 7.0 and sample III was 6.9. The TSS level in sample I was 393.33 mg/L, sample II was 8750 mg/L, and sample III was 8990 mg/L. The value of the brightness level of sample I is >2 m, sample II is <1 m and the brightness level of sample III is at a depth of <1 m. While for the temperature test for sample I, the water temperature is 23°C and the air temperature is 25°C, sample II is the water temperature is 27°C and the air temperature is 25°C, while for the third sample, the water temperature is 26°C and the air temperature is 24° C with each deviation of ± 3.

Abstract

The air condition on our earth is getting worse day by day due to air pollution. Air pollution changes the composition (composition) of the atmosphere, where the amount and concentration of one or more pollutants endangers the health of living things, damages property, and reduces air comfort. The dense use of motorized vehicle activities in Kendari City is one of the factors that affect ambient air quality. This is what can be used as a reference in conducting this research using a field survey method for the number of vehicles and ambient air dampel testing for air quality in Kendari City with Sulfur Dioxide parameters. The results showed that the daily traffic density at the monitoring point on Jalan A.H Nasution, Kendari City, for motor vehicles was 8,046 units/day, cars were 3,237 units/day, and trucks were 213 units/day. Based on the results of laboratory tests, the concentration of SO2 at the measurement point on Jalan A.H Nasution, Kendari City, was 38.5 g/m3 in the morning, 61.7 g/m3 in the afternoon, and 53.5 g/m3 in the afternoon. Based on government regulation Number 22 of 2021 concerning the implementation and management of the environment, the sulfur dioxide concentration on the A.H Nasuton road, Kendari City, between morning, afternoon and evening is still below the quality standard threshold.

Abstract

The problem of air pollution is a global problem that almost everyone experiences. Nearly 90% of people in the world live in an environment where the air is not healthy. One of the places that may affect the pollutant is, where the market has a level of crowd and traffic density that can have an impact on the environment. One of them is the central market of Kendari City.this study aims to determine the concentration of particulate matter (PM10) in the baruga market in kendari city and the amount of traffic volume at three predetermined times.the results obtained are the concentration of PM10 in ambient air in the baruga market, kendari city at three times, namely morning, afternoon and evening. 26,92 µg/Nm3 with a temperature of 33,5oC, in the afternoon the results obtained are 51,67 µg/Nm3 with a temperature of 35,25oC and in the afternoon the results are 18,50 µg/Nm3 with a temperature of 32,33oC which still meets the PP quality standard. No.41 of 1999.

Abstract

Ambient air pollution outside the outdoor environment comes from moving sources, namely exhaust fumes from incompletely burned vehicles such as motorcycles, gasoline cars, diesel cars, Morosi District is an industrial area that accommodates several large companies engaged in energy and mineral purification, so that these companies will accommodate human resources. In this case, of course, many workers use motorized vehicles to optimize working time. The mobility of workers is a contribution to air pollution, especially air resulting from the use of motorized vehicles known as Sulfur Dioxide (SO2). Efforts to monitor the amount of SO2 need to be carried out considering the impact that will arise in the future.The measurement of SO2 concentration was carried out using a measurement procedure method that refers to SNI 19-7117.10-2005, using Impingger. In the morning, afternoon and evening measurements the concentration of SO2 gas reached 50.60 g/m³, 41.80 60 g/m³, and in the afternoon 72.10 g/m the concentration of SO2 was still safe for life and the environment because it did not exceed the quality standard. which is 150 ug/m³.

Abstract

Density of motorized vehicle users in Kendari City is one of the factors that affect ambient air quality. This is the reference for conducting this research using a field survey methode for the number of vehicle volumes and ambient air sample testing for air quality in Kendari City with carbon monoxide parameters. The results of this study indicate the daily traffic volume at Jalan MT. Haryono (in front of Pasar Baru). The volume of motorized vehicles of 10,699 units/day (motorcycles), 4,078 units/day (cars) and 272 units/day (heavy equipment). Based on the results of laboratory tests, the CO concentration of the MT. Haryono waypoint (in front of Pasar Baru) Kendari City obtained as follows: in the morning at 4000 µg/m³, in the afternoon at 10350 µg/m³, and in the afternoon at 8000 µg/m³.f The results of measurements carried out the concentration of Carbon Monoxide at points on the MT. Haryono (in front of Pasar Baru). For the morning and evening it is still below the threshold based on the quality standard according to Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management. Meanwhile, during the day, the quality standard has passed due to the condition of air temperature, humidity and wind speed which causes the CO concentration to increase.
