Psikologia: Jurnal Pemikiran dan Penelitian Psikologi is a peer-reviewed scientific journal in psychology, managed by the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Sumatera Utara. The journal aims to accommodate the exchange of ideas among Indonesian psychologists and scientists, but also to disseminate their scientific propositions and empirical findings to the global community. Since 2016, the journal has been published in an electronic form to facilitate the rapid dissemination of research findings. The journal focuses on bringing psychological science theory, empirical evidence, and practice to explain and provide solutions to social and behavioral problems that are especially relevant but not limited to Indonesian society. As such, we accept a wide range of research domains in psychology, including social psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, educational psychology, developmental psychology, and clinical psychology. We believe that human behaviors and societal problems can be approached through various methodologies. For this reason, we accept not only sound and reproducible quantitative studies but also the rich narratives of qualitative inquiries. We also encourage the mix of both methodologies. By considering that most psychological research has been conducted among WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic) samples, we believe that it is important to test and replicate mainstream psychological theories and findings among Indonesian in particular and other non-WEIRD societies in general. As such, we promote not only new and novel ideas but also studies that are aimed to validate mainstream psychological theories and research

Abstract

Abstract. Anxiety is one of the psychological problems that affect the condition of cancer patients. This study aims to determine the effect of Brief Mindfulness Meditation (BMM) in reducing anxiety in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with a pre-posttest design with a control group. The instrument used is STAI (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory). The BMM intervention was given for 25 minutes three times during the chemotherapy process. The results showed that there was a significant change in anxiety scores (state & trait) in the treatment group after being given the BMM intervention (p < .005). This shows that the BMM intervention affects reducing anxiety in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Keywords: Anxiety, Cancer Patient, Chemotherapy, Brief Mindfulness Meditation, Abstrak. Abstract

Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) is an individual's active participation in the learning process (Zimmerman, 1990). This study aims to examine the differences in SRL of Kampus Merdeka Internship Participants in terms of environmental factors, including the Internship System (WFO, WFH, and Hybrid), Internship Duration (<5 hours, 5-10 hours, >10 hours), and Attendance Model (Attending Lectures and Not Following Lectures). The results showed that there was no difference in the SRL of the Kampus Merdeka Internship participants to the Internship System and Internship Duration. However, there is a difference in SRL for the Kampus Merdeka Internship participants to the Attendance Model. Interns who do not attend lectures have a higher SRL than apprentices who do not attend lectures.
