Abstract

ROM training is a form of exercise in the rehabilitation process which is considered to be quite influential in preventing disability in stroke sufferers. ROM therapy is divided into active ROM and passive ROM and is usually carried out in patients with decreased consciousness, patients unable to perform some or all range of motion exercises independently, patients on total bed rest or patients with total extremity paralysis. Complications that will occur in stroke sufferers include musculoskeletal complications that will occur, such as contractures, osteoporosis and falls. Everyone has risk factors for fracture because trauma can happen to anyone. The elderly are one of the age groups that have a higher risk of fracture. The aim of this manuscript is to provide Range of Motion (ROM) therapy to elderly patients post stroke and pelvic fracture. The nursing implementation provided to diagnose physical mobility disorders is passive ROM and active ROM therapy as well as providing education about preventing the risk of falls to minimize the risk of falls in the elderly. This nursing care is carried out 4 days in a row and is still routinely carried out independently for 15-20 minutes every morning and evening. After ROM therapy, there was an increase in muscle strength in the right lower extremity from 2222 to 3333 and there was a change from initially experiencing stiffness in the extremities to slowly increasing.

Abstract

Hypertension poses a significant health concern in various communities, including the rural setting of Asrikaton Village in Malang Regency. This research aims to evaluate and analyze efforts to mitigate the risk of hypertension through medical examinations and counseling on healthy lifestyle patterns in Asrikaton Village. The research methodology employs a mixed-method approach with both primary and secondary data collection. Medical examinations and family counseling take center stage, involving an educational approach to promote healthy lifestyles, stress management, and the cultivation of positive relationships within families. The research findings reveal a high incidence of hypertension, with 60% of the 60 participants affected, underscoring the urgency for serious attention. One approach to address this issue is through educational counseling on healthy lifestyles. The counseling aims to create healthy families by providing necessary information and support, particularly through the dissemination of knowledge and education on healthy lifestyles. This encompasses dietary habits, avoiding hypertension-triggering foods, incorporating regular physical activity into daily routines, and fostering a mindset that minimizes stress. By integrating both medical examinations and counseling on healthy lifestyles, it is anticipated that this program will foster a supportive environment, resulting in healthier families and enabling individuals with hypertension to lead normal and productive lives.

Abstract

Stroke is one of the complications of hypertension. Stroke in Indonesia is the third most deadly disease after heart disease and cancer. The community has an important role in improving health by preventing and promoting health, especially cadres. Preliminaries on the Wirogunan showed that cadres needed assistance in realizing a stroke-free village. The purpose of this community service is to improve cadre skills and awareness in preventing hypertensive complications through screening training and increasing cadres' confidence in providing information to the community with hypertension so that it does not develop into a stroke. The implemented activities include identifying the problems through focus group discussion, introducing strokes, screening training, cadre assistance, and evaluation. There were 23 cadres participating in this activity from RW 8, 9, and 10. The results of community service showed that there is an increase in cadre knowledge, increased skills in conducting screening, and increased self-confidence in cadres in providing education to the community. This program is expected to be carried out in an integrated manner with other sectors to reduce the number of people with stroke.
