The Malay people made Arabic as the medium of instruction in the form of writing by the Malay community. The use of this script is known as Malay Arabic script by adding some Arabic letters by adjusting the sound with Malay language. The first stage of this writing as a communication in trade between the people of Indonesia with Arab traders, then the writers use it as script writing in Malay language. This writing continues to use it as the medium of instruction in Islamic education and teaching to the public. Then the scientists and scholars use it as well as writing characters in writing religious books such as fiqh, tafseer, hadith and tarekat and other writings. This paper aims to analyze the thoughts of Hamka in Malay Islamic Nysties Historiography. The method used is historical method, especially historiography approach. Characteristic of Hamka's work; First, writing techniques; Not using footnotes, style of language; Simple, alive, and communicative. The sources used by Hamka can be grouped into three groups; Primary sources, historical books composed by Muslim authors themselves; Second, the second source of material is the Dutch and British writers' writings on Indonesia and the Malay Land; Third, the third source of material materials that allegedly most of the writers of Islamic history in Indonesia did not get it. While from the Method of Historical Criticism, according to Hamka there are two ways to write history among Muslims; First collecting all the facts wherever it comes from, no matter whether the facts make sense or not, what needs to be taken care of is where this history is received. Second, judging the facts and giving their own opinions, after the facts were collected, this is the system used by Ibn Khaldun.

Abstract

The Balfour Declaration was the official declaration of the United Kingdom of the status of the Land of Palestine announced by Foreign Minister Lord Arthur James Balfour on November 2, 1917. This declaration contains the support of the British Empire to make the Land of Palestine a place of state formation for the Jews. The existence of the declaration sparked great controversy and great suspicion, especially for the Muslim world about the evil conspiracy of Jews and Christians destroying Islam. This paper will explore the roots of the prejudices of hostilities by making the Balfour Declaration a central point. Based on historical search, it can be seen the nuances of conspiracy-scented conspiracy in this declaration. Although for the United Kingdom the Declaration was an attempt to win the war, but the feeling of being cheated already provoked a perpetual outrage toward the West for Muslims in the Middle East. This event is used as ammunition to inflame feelings of resentment and anger in many media publications in many Muslim countries. So the attention and reconciliation of Islam-West by lifting the 1917 incident is felt necessary to reduce the endless anger.

Abstract

This paper wants to describe and analyze religious freedom in the view of Islam and in the trajectory of Islamic history. Whereas the approach used is a historical and descriptive analytical approach. The Islamic view of freedom of religion is to give freedom to a person to choose, carry out and exchange thoughts in religious matters, whether done with religionists or followers of other religions, whether in public or separate places, whether done alone or with other people. And when someone has declared himself to enter Islam he is obliged to carry out the teachings of Islam as a whole. In Islamic history, from the time of the Prophet Muhammad, al-Khulafa 'al-Rashidin, the Umayyads and the Abbasids, they gave religious freedom to anyone and any party and coexisted together to build civilization at that time.
