Abstract

This paper aims to examine the effect of the general election system on women's electability in the South Korean parliament. South Korea, which is known as a great economic and human development country, in fact, when it comes to issues of gender equality is not comparable to the greatness of the country. In this context, South Korea received the title as one of the countries with a high gender gap. The research method used in this paper is qualitative-descriptive. The results of this study indicate that the gap between women and men in South Korea is still high so that the number of women involved in parliament is still very limited. In addition, there are still several inhibiting factors when women want to become members of parliament. Whereas the presence of women in Parliament is a very important thing because they are considered to be able to bring ideas and ideas that can represent the interests of their constituents. The presence of a proportional representation system does indeed seem to provide a positive enough opportunity to increase the representation of women in the South Korean Parliament through a 30% quota which is believed to be sufficient to provide good things for effective and efficient elections in legislative elections. Even though this proportional representation system is not fully capable of bringing about such significant changes in results, at least the existence of this system is enough to help women improve their representation, or it can be said that slowly, but the results are enough to bring bigger changes to women's representation in parliament.

Understanding Islam is important for a woman due to Islam has changed their values in the society and then their well-understood of Islam will affect their children like how Islam did to them. By using a normative approach, namely literature research, it can be concluded that mothers have an important role in training children to understand religion in order to prepare children for the future world. The rules of Islam from the past are absolute based on the Qur'an and Hadith have not changed since then. When women correctly understand the Islamic parenting, then the purpose of Islamic education contained in Surat At-Tahrim (66) verse 6 and Surat Luqman (31) verses 12-19 "To save children from the deviation of their nature, To make children believe in Allah SWT, Keeping children away from shirk., Making children obedient to worship Allah SWT, Forming children with noble morals., Forming children with a patient and trustworthy soul and Forming children with a social-community spirit” are achieved.

Abstract

Women during the national movement have seen that in addition to being a mother, they have the right to contribute, have an opinion and develop themselves. Elite women and those who were able to receive education at that time moved to inspire and make changes for Indonesian women to get their rights and progress afterward. For this reason, this article will discuss the rights of women who were fought for and the beginning of the existence of the movement to fighting for women's rights. From there it can be seen whether the rights that we get today are a gift from the struggle of the women's movement at that time and how hard they fought to get these rights. Because rights are what we can get regardless of age, gender and so on. By using data collection in the form of literature study and historical literature with related titles, then analyzed and poured descriptively. So, it can be said that the rights that were obtained by men at that time, we must also be able to get them. Then we have to maintain the rights that we have got and even have to advance them, or we develop again the rights that have not been fulfilled for women.

Women's lives have changed dramatically over the last quarter century. Progress on gender equality is still limited. The patriarchal culture that is still strong prolongs the suffering of the powerless and complicates the struggle and change towards justice and gender equality. We can understand that gender is a difference that is not biological or not divine in nature. Through this article, the author wants to raise the theme of gender equality which is discussed based on the Catholic Church document, Gaudium Et Spes art. 29. This research uses a type of library research, which has the aim of tracing and analyzing data or information about the essence of the Gaudium Et Spes document Articles 9 and 29 in relation to Gender Equality. Gaudium Et Spes contribution document Articles 9 and Art. 29 is the similarity between men and women is through the institution of good will in the sense that both men and women participate in what the church stands for, namely the struggle to shape human life in a more humane way.
