Abstract

Muslim communities in the Hindu-majority area of Bali have existed since the 15th century. Since that period, the interdependence between the two religious communities has been something inevitable. This study aims to enrich the treasures of the interdependence discourse that exists between Muslims and Hindus in Bali. It tries to trace the history and early development of Islam in Bali, the relation pattern between Muslims and Hindus, and local wisdom influencing the interdependence in Bali. Data for this study were obtained through observations and interviews with key figures in Klungkung, Bali. After profound analysis, the writer concludes that the emergence of Islam in Bali occurred when Dalem Ketut Ngelesir (1380-1460) visited Majapahit during the vassal royal conference in early 1380 and brought 40 Muslim escorts. This period also marked the early Hindus-Muslim relationship in Bali with Klungkung as the first area with the Muslim community. Later, the relationship between Hindus and Muslims was maintained in the four consecutive periods: kingdom, colonization, post-independence, and the present. Among the local wisdom that has influenced the interdependence and integration between the two religious communities are megibung, ngejot, and religious activities such as the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW., Nyepi, odalan, takbiran, and Eid al-Fitr.

Abstract

The interpretation of the Qur'an is important in giving meaning to the purpose and purpose of the Qur'an. Because with this interpretation, Muslims can know and even carry out the teachings of Islam as contained in it. On the one hand, admittedly or not, Looking at the mufassir in the classical era, that most of them, or it can be said that all of them are men, so that unconsciously in carrying out their interpretation is always subjective and tends to side with their people (the men) and they do not accommodate the interests of women. Therefore, it is natural that the interpretations produced still reflect patriarchal biases, especially when they are read in the present context. Asma Barlas as one of the female feminist figures appeared to provide solutions, one of which was the need for a re-reading of the texts of the Qur'an whose interpretations were dominated by patriarchal ideology, thus giving rise to the spirit of liberation towards women and upholding the perspective of egalitarianism in the re-reading of verses from the Qur'an. She tried to deconstruct and paradigmatically reconstruct models of interpretation that tend to marginalize the role of women, both in religious, political, and social settings. Asma wants the truth of understanding of how to read religion (the Qur'an) and also wants women to be free from the negative image in Islam as it has been developing. Based on the problems that occurred above, the researcher formulated the following problem: How does the classical era's interpretation of the Qur'an relate to women? And what is the concept of Qur'anic interpretation in Asma Barlas's perspective? Looking at the variables, this study wants to examine the opinions of the mufassir, so this study can be called the character study approach. However, the character study approach is part of qualitative research and the method uses qualitative research as is customary. The study of figures was chosen as an approach, because the researcher wanted to inventory, critically evaluate, and conclude about the thoughts and opinions of the mufassir regarding the concept of Qur'anic interpretation of the Qur'an and Women or gender similarity in the perspketive of the Qur'an.

Abstract

Eschatology is part of theology that discusses the last days, in Islamic teachings eschatology is closely related to the faith of a Muslim in the last days. And for a Muslim faith must be in line with the existence of evidence in the form of practice in everyday life that reflects an eschatology or faith in the last days. The practice of a science is very important because it will provide many benefits and significant developments for human life. Actually, there are many ways to practice and imply faith in the hereafter and eschatology, one of which is living a minimalist life. Then how can a minimalist life be said to be a practice of eschatology in remembering the last days or the afterlife. In this article, we will discuss this matter using qualitative research methods, in the form of literature review and literature study. The results of this study show that minimalist living can be used as the practice of eschatology in remembering the afterlife, because minimalist life is basically similar to qanaah and zuhud life, both of which focus on the afterlife. It also turns out that a minimalist life has been recommended from the beginning in Islamic teachings, namely living as simply as possible and not exaggerating in pursuing the world, and increasing practices to improve the quality of the afterlife.

Abstract

This article is based on the rise of radical Islamic movements, terrorism, and the youth movement for young people. In addition to these symptoms, it turns out that there are movements of young people who take Sufism's path through the teachings of the Sufi order at the Alwi Mosque, Bandung Regency. With a qualitative approach, this sociological research finds youths who practice the Sufi order's instructions solidly. They carry out religious deepening and soul purification by carrying out various kinds of Sufi order worship. Departing from this, this research discusses the philosophical foundation of young people following the Sufi order, young people's activities when they have a relationship, and the benefits during their development. The results showed that young people who follow Sufi order tend to have a pragmatic instrumental philosophical foundation (al-Zarai'iy), and the Tariqat Qodiriyah Naqshabandiyah performance does not differentiate between young and old. However, at least five benefits for young people to follow the Sufi order: murshid guidance, adding siblings, togetherness, and solidarity, avoiding religious deviations, and being more self-controlled.

Abstract

The integration between intellectuality and spirituality in Sufism is very necessary because it can produce self-actualization for followers of tarekat, so that human behavior will reflect divine traits in their daily lives. This study aims to examine the relationship between intellectuality and spirituality which then has an impact on the morality of the congregation of the Naqsabandiyah Khalidiyah tariqah perspective. This research uses a qualitative method conducted at the Prof. Dr. Kadirun Yahya Foundation located on Jenderal Gatot Subroto Street KM 4.5 Sei Siskamling Medan, North Sumatra. This study found that in the study of Naqsabandiyah Khalidiyah tarekat pioneered by Shaykh Kadirun Yahya, self-actualization or ihsan behavior in Sufism can be obtained through a process of integration between intellectual and spiritual potential. This is done because every congregation of the congregation must have an understanding and ability to explain the scientific concepts of the implementation of spiritual rituals performed. The scientific tradition built by Sheikh Kadirun Yahya in Tarekat Naqsabandiyah Khalidiyah is intended to encourage the intellectual potential of the congregation, considering that theories related to general sciences such as natural science, physics, and chemistry are growing rapidly. Meanwhile, religious sciences seem to have developed rapidly, but have stagnated due to religious teachings that are adhered to traditionally and dogmatically. Future research is expected to further analyze the contribution of Shaykh Kadirun Yahya's thought to the renewal of the Sufism tradition in a modern context, especially amid the challenges of globalization and secularization.

The concept of recitation, purification, teachings taught by the Koran in Surat al-Jumu'ah: 2 is an effective way in the teaching and learning process and can even create the Tridharma of Islamic Boarding Schools, namely fostering faith and piety to Allah SWT, developing science and expertise useful, as well as devotion to religion, society, and the country. These three concepts became the brainchild of KH. Imam Barmawi in improving the spirituality of his students at PPI Nurul Burhan, Badean, Bondowoso. This study uses a qualitative approach. Methods of data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. The analysis technique uses the descriptive analysis model of Miles and Huberman. While the data validity technique uses data validity with source and time triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the three concepts are applied at PPI Nurul Burhan; (1) the concept of recitations is applied by reading and writing the translation of the Koran using the Yanbu'a method and the Tarjamah Tafsiriyah study of the Koran with the aim that the students are not only able to read and write the Koran but also able to understand its meaning; (2) the concept of purification is applied by continuing congregational prayers, reciting Shalawat Burdah, and cleaning the pesantren environment. The concept of teaching is implemented with worship workshop activities so that it has a positive effect on the character in terms of piety and cleanliness of the students.
