Abstract

This dissertation examines the emergence of televised da'wah (Islamic propagation) following the downfall of the Suharto regime in Indonesia. The proliferation of da'wah programs on television, fueled by the country's Islamization and conservative Islamic influences, disrupted traditional authorities and reshaped religious dynamics. Through an ethnographic study of post-Suharto da'wah television ecology, Siddik highlights the role of charismatic religious preachers both on-screen and in real life, underscoring their influence in the contest for religious authority. The book presents historical evidence demonstrating the global trend of television preachers and sociological evidence illustrating how society supports da'wah programming, considering it a valuable medium for religious education. Overall, the dissertation asserts that the modern era's transformation of religious authority in Indonesia has been profoundly shaped by television, further solidifying the position of religious preachers in the religious domain struggle.

Abstract

To become an entrepreneur, the first thing to prepare is to master the knowledge of entrepreneurship, know the basic concepts of entrepreneurship and the ins and outs of it. An entrepreneur requires a strong mentality and a creative, innovative and courageous spirit to face challenges in the future. To become an entrepreneur is not bound by a certain gender, anyone has the right to become an entrepreneur without any differences in ethnicity, race and gender. Men and women are created in pairs and both are partners who complement each other. It should be noted that, long before there were balance theories about men and women in entrepreneurship, the Qur'an had previously reported on this theory, this is mentioned in the Qur'an in surah An-Nisa/4: 32 and surah an-nahl/16: 97, explicitly states that: men and women have equal access and opportunities to become entrepreneurs. The balance of roles between men and women in entrepreneurship is a necessity, because both are creatures that were created to complement each other, have the same potential and both come from the same creation and origin, and both have the same abilities. in doing whatever they want

Abstract

In the late 1990s, popular music with Islamic values emerged in Indonesia’s music and recording industry. This music features lyrics containing Sufism values. The musicians are also spiritual leaders for the audience. Knauth found three main genres representing popular Islamic music in Indonesia from 2002-2007 through an ethnographic approach. The three genres are nasyid with musicians Aa Gym, Islamic rock with musicians Ahmad Dhani and Dewa 19, and Islamic fusion with Cak Nun and Kiai Kanjeng. Benedict Anderson's theory of Javanese power and leadership and the theory of Islamic political scholar John Esposito compare these leaders (musicians). Knauth explained how the spiritual journey of the three influenced the songs they performed. The lyrics of the song contain various monotheism and tasawuf teachings.

Abstract

This essay explores the significant significance of financial literacy for the Muslim-Wahabi-Salafi group residing in East Lombok. The research is primarily concerned with the issues that arise between sharia banks and ordinary banks within Salafi-Wahhabi groups. In order to get precise findings on this subject, the author employed qualitative research methods such as observation, interviews, and documentation to collect primary data, as well as utilizing many scientific works as secondary data. Upon conducting several academic procedures, the author discovered that the level of sharia financial literacy within the community of Bagik Nyaka Santri Village, particularly within Salafi-Wahabi circles, was deemed insufficient. This has a significant influence on the utilization of sharia banking services, which is likewise quite low. Financial literacy has little impact on the utilization of sharia banking services, as individuals perceive no necessity for such services. In addition to these causes, the adoption of sharia banking services is also impacted by the ideology of the Salafi-Wahabi community, which views the utilization of both conventional and sharia banking services as imbalanced. They have a preference for retaining their own funds and do not possess any inclination towards utilizing sharia-compliant banking services.

Abstract

All religions teach justice in its various forms and concepts. Also with the values of justice in all religions has a very substantial and principled position. No exception to Islam and Hinduism. This research uses library research methods with descriptive-analytical patterns, through text analysis approaches. It was created to examine the extent to which religions, in this context Islam and Hindu, understood the concept of justice based on the Scriptures. The Qur'an emphasizes the difference between the righteousness of mankind and that of God Himself. Unlike Hinduism, justice seems more exclusive, actionary and sometimes complex. That is, although Hindu teaches justice in the form of dharma and karmaphala, but it is bound by the law of cause and effect. It is the Lord who makes a distinction between it and the Qur'an. Moreover, the Hindu sees justice in the existence of karma acquired through the phase triangle, that is, life in the past, present, and life at rebirth. In the Qur'an, the term of absolute karma is not known. Because, God could have changed the fate of a slave if He pleased.
