Abstract

Durian skin is made into particles as a material for furniture. Durian skin made into coarse particles with a size of passing through an 8 mesh, retained on a 20 mesh and fine particles passes through a 4 mesh, restrained on 6 mesh. The bonding material used is formaldehyde urea concentration of 12%, 14% and 16%  with other additives such as catalysts, paraffin and liquid smoke. The particle board is made with a size 30cm x 30cm x 1cm, the desired density is 0.6 g/cm3. The making of particle board used compression heat at 1400C with a specific pressure of 25 kg / cm2 for ± 10 minutes. The testing of the physical properties of particle board (desity, moisture content and thickness swelling) and mechanical properties of particle board (modulus of elasticity, modulus of  rupture, internal bording and screw holding strength) were conducted in accordance with the standard JIS A5908-2003. The results showed that the physical properties that meet the standard JIS A5908-2003 were the density and  moisture content, and for mechanical properties that meet the standard JIS A 5908-2003 were the bonding strength and screw holding strength. The best bonding concentration for physical and mechanical properties of particle board from durian skin is at a bording concentration of 16%. Keywords : Durian skin, particle board, physical

Abstract

Wood furniture industry is one of the wood industries in the district of Kubu Raya, West Kalimantan Province. The industry has long existed and has to compete with other local furniture industry. The objectives of this study is to investigate the cost of each manufacture unit and actual income of each production type, analyze the economic income, indentify the amount of production break-even point and  break event point of each production unit since West Kalimantan forests have sufficient raw material of wood for furniture production. The average cost of door production is 293.111 rupiah per unit, the average cost of window production is 141.045 ruiah per unit and the average production cost of sills is 134.053 rupiah, actual profit of door production is 41.731 rupiah per unit, actual profit of window production is 49.536 per unit and actual income of sills production amounted to 105.947 per unit, break even point rupiah for door production amounted to 334.828 rupiah, break even point rupiah of window amounted to 190.581 rupiah and break even point rupiah of sills amounted to 240.000. The  findings indicate that the furniture industry is the industry that is highly helpful in increasing the incomes of enterpreneurs. Therefore, many people are interested. Community needs in the use of furniture production is increasing and the limited availability of raw materials make the selling price to be expensive. Accordingly for the furniture enterpreneurs should have sufficient supplies of raw materials in the warehouse. Abstract

Shorebirds area group ofaquatic birds that are ecologically dependent on coastal areas, either as a haven, foraging and breeding (Howes, Bakwell and Noor. 2003). There are some shorebirds that breed away from the beach but still use the beach as a middleman to reach these places. Shorebirds like wetland habitats such as mangrove forests, seagrass beds, mud Hirst (mudflat), estuaries, ponds and rice fields. In general, there are two kinds of key threats to shorebirds in Indonesia, namely use change and habitat destruction and poaching in scale unsustainable. The use of toxins and pesticidesin agriculture is also considered a potential threat to shorebirds. The purpose of research is to determine the types of shorebirds that migrate in Tanjung Bunga Sub-District Teluk Pakedai, District Kubu Raya. Identification Data Type The Migratory Shorebirds can provide information and data to researchers and government agencies in the field of conservation of migratory shorebirds in Tanjung Bunga Sub-District Teluk Pakedai, District Kubu Raya, so it can be made in an effort programming management, protection and preservation in the region. Field observations carried out at 4 observation point is on the muddy shore, the results obtained as many as 22 species of birds are classified into 9 families and included in the 5 order, of 22 type were found 12 species is a group of shorebirds and 10 specie sof birds belonging to the local, as well as 11 species of birds among the 22 newly discovered species protected by the Law of the Republic of IndonesiaKeyword : Identification, migration, shorebird. If Full Text Pdf error, please use the link to acces : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2fYVAKSai7wYVRteGtSMXhXcDA/view
