Abstract

Black Orchid is an orchid endemic in West Kalimantan is currently declining presence, so the ex-situ conservation effort are needed. On of the efforts is to plant propagation by tissue culture methods. This research aimed to get the optimal concentration of Benzil Amino Purine (BAP) for the formation of a black orchid shoot multiplication by tissue culture methods. The research was conducted at the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tanjungpura.  This study used a completely randomized design (CRD). BAP treatment consists of 6 levels of concentration namely 0 ppm, 0,25 ppm, 0,5 ppm, 1 ppm, 1,25 ppm and 1,5 ppm. The observed variables included the time appeared shoots, number of shoots, and the number of leaves. The results showed that the concentrations of BAP on MS medium significantly affected the entire observation variables. The best concentration for a time appeared shoots and number of shoots was 1,5 and 1,25 ppm BAP, while the best concentration of BAP for number of leaves is 1,5 ppm. Abstract

People’s perception on mangrove forest is one form of mangrove responses concerning the function and benefits of mangrove ecosystems including physical, biological, chemical, economic and social benefits. One of example mangrove forests  is  Sungai Kupah village, Sungai Kakap subdistrict, Kubu Raya district. This study aims to understand people’s perceptions of the mangrove forests in the Sungai Kupah village and to understand the relationship between perceptions of the individual factors of age, education, knowledge, cosmopolitan levels, income levels, and dependability. The research uses the survey method and analyzed with Kendall tau’s correlation and descriptive analysis. People’s perception on mangrove forests in the Sungai Kupah village it’s positively inclined, which is 51,14%. Knowledge factor have a significant positive correlation; Education, income, cosmopolitan and dependency factors are low in their positive correlations; While age and distance factors tend have a negative insignificant correlation with people’s perception of mangrove forests in the village of the Sungai Kupah. The perception can be used as a reference to bringing communities into further mangrove. Keywords : Communities, individual factors, mangrove forests, perception, qualitative data

Abstract

This research aim to determine of immersion types and the addition of layer materials on the physical and mechanical composite board and to determine the best treatment. Composite board made with size 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm with 0,7 gr/cm3 density target. Physical and mechanical testing based on JIS A 5908 – 2003 standard. This research using factorial experiments pattern on completely random design with 2 treatment factor, namely immersion factor which consist of two sub factor (hot water immersion and cold water immersion) and composite board layer factor which consist of 3 sub factor (without layer, finir layer and bamboo layer). Materials mixing doing manually with Polypropylena distribution is divided into 3 parts, each of face and back is 15 %, and core is 70 % from plastic weight. Hot press conducted on temperature 1800C with ± 25kgf/cm2 during 10 minutes. Research result showed that every composite board is according to JIS A 5908 – 2003 standard, except water content value is lower than standard. Finir layer composite board with hot water immersion during 2 hours is the most optimal. Keyword : Composite Board, Immersion, Layer, Physical and Mechanical, Polypropylena Plastic

The wildlife that live and thrive in the indigenous forest is a kind of squirrel. Squirrel one of animal which important for the ecology function, so we need to do research on "Identification of the Squirrel species (Tupaia sp) In Indigenous Forest Region Bukit Sagu Sungai Sena village, Silat Hilir District of Kapuas Hulu Regency". The method used is a survey method, determining the location of the observations done purposive sampling by trapping. Identification the species of squirrel is done by means of measurement based on the Payne et. al, (1999). Method the number of squirrels have been found during the research in the area of Bukit Sagu Community Forest Sungai Sena, Village  Silat Hilir District, Kapuas Hulu Regency, namely 92 individuals, consisting of three species of squirrels, the squirrel beautiful (Tupaia splendidula) as much as 42 individual, squirrel mountain (Tupaia montana ) 11 individual, and ground squirrels (Tupaia tana) were 39 individual. Abstract

The study aims to determine the daily behavior and characteristics of slow loris to assess their readiness to be released back into the wild after going through the rehabilitation phase. The results are expected to help design a more appropriate program of rehabilitation and conservation for the slow loris. Loris’s daily behavior observations were performed using focal animal sampling (Altmann, 1974). Observations were made at a distance of 1-2 meters from the cage. In accordance uptime slow loris an observation conducted from 18:00 pm until 6:00 pm, with write down the frequency behavior based on the duration of the specified time interval every 5 minutes. On average presentation behavior of slow loris that are stable, habituation there is a presentation of the total of displaced (37.77%), forage (30.68%), browse (15.65%), eat (9.71%), active (3.66%) and a low of behavior social (2:53%). Slow loris stable habituation never seen doing in-active behavior and abnormal during the observation took place. Keywords: Daily behavior, habituation cage, rehabilitation, slow loris.

Abstract

The use of bamboo for woven crafts by the community has been going on for a long time and passed down through generations. Bamboo handicraft products are used for household needs, and some woven bamboo handicrafts are sold to increase income. This is conducted as an effort to get added value while waiting for the harvest of agriculture. This study aims wereto calculate the income of bamboo woven craftsmen in Engkahan Village, and to calculate the effect of working hours (X) on the income of bamboo woven craftsmen (Y). The study was conducted for four weeks, starting on 14 May 2018 to 16 June 2018 in Engkahan Village. The research was conducted by survey method with direct interview technique using questionnaire. The results showed that there were three species of bamboo used by craftsmen as raw material for making crafts. The three species of bamboo are bamboo reed (Schizostachyum brachycladum kurz), betung bamboo (Dendrocalamus assper (Schult) Becker ex Heyne), and bamboo pisak (Schizostachyum lima (Blanco) Merril). The income earned by craftsmen from the business of making bamboo woven crafts was averaged of Rp. 1,395,340.91 per year. The lowest income earned by craftsmen is Rp. 725,000 per year, and the highest income earned by craftsmen is Rp. 2,625,000 per year. Data processing results showed that variable X (number of working hours) affects the variable Ŷ (craftsman income), with the form of the regression equation obtained as follows: Ŷ = 515.030.50 + 4,585.63 X. The equation illustrates that each additional hour of work by craftsmen will contribute Rp. 4,585.63 to the income of the bamboo woven craftsmen. Keywords:bamboo species, bamboo woven products,  craftsman income
