Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the physical and mechanical properties of particleboard based on the composition of raw materials and adhesive content as well as their interaction with the optimum quality of particle boards that meet JIS A 5908-2003 standards. The particleboard was made with a size of 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm with a target density of 0.7 g/cm³.  The pressing was done at a temperature of 140°C for 8 minutes with a pressure of 25 kg/cm². The composition ratio of betel nut peel waste and sawdust varied, namely 60% betel nut peel waste: 40% sawdust, 50% betel nut peel waste: 50% sawdust, and 40% betel nut peel waste: sawdust 60%. The adhesive used was Urea Formaldehyde with a concentration of 12%, 14%, and 16%. The results showed that all test values met the JIS A 5908: 2003 standard except the MOE test. The optimum value of particle board of betel nut peel and sawdust was with a composition ratio of 50% betel nut peel waste: 50% sawdust, 16% adhesive content, with a density value of 0.6876 g/cm³, a moisture content of 9,4530%, water absorption 34,5306%, thickness expansion 8,2508%, MOE 12432,6243 kg/cm², MOR 205,8462 kg/cm², adhesive firmness 2,2530 kg/cm², screw holding strength 81,6861 kg/cm².Keywords: adhesive content, betel nut peel waste, material composition, mechanical properties, particleboard, physical.Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sifat fisik dan mekanik papan partikel berdasarkan komposisi bahan baku dan kadar perekat serta interaksi keduanya terhadap kualitas papan partikel yang optimum serta memenuhi standar JIS A 5908-2003. Papan partikel dibuat dengan ukuran 30 cm x 30 cm x 1 cm dengan target kerapatan 0,7 g/cm³. Pengepresan  pada suhu 140°C selama 8 menit dengan tekanan 25 kg/cm². Perbandingan komposisi kulit buah pinang dan serbuk kayu gergaji bervariasi yaitu kulit buah pinang 60% : serbuk kayu gergaji 40%, kulit buah pinang 50% : serbuk kayu gergaji 50% dan kulit buah pinang 40% : serbuk kayu gergaji 60%. Perekat yang digunakan adalah Urea Formaldehida dengan konsentrasi 12%, 14% dan 16%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semua nilai uji memenuhi standar JIS A 5908 : 2003 kecuali uji MOE. Nilai papan partikel kulit buah pinang dan serbuk kayu gergaji optimum dengan perbandingan komposisi kulit buah pinang 50% : serbuk kayu gergaji 50%, kadar perekat 16%, dengan nilai densitas 0,6876 g/cm³, kadar air 9,4530%, daya serap air 34,5306%, pengembangan tebal 8,2508%, MOE 12432,6243 kg/cm², MOR 205,8462 kg/cm², Keteguhan rekat 2,2530 kg/cm², kekuatan menahan sekrup 81,6861 kg/cm².Kata kunci : papan partikel, kadar perekat, kulit buah pinang, komposisi bahan, sifat fisik dan mekanik.

Abstract

Humans utilize various biological resources to fulfill their daily needs, such as food, medicines, traditional ritual, mystical, regional arts, and hunting. Dayak Benyadu, located in Untang Village, Banyuke Hulu District, Landak Regency, is a Dayak tribe with cultural values inherited from their ancestors by generation. One of the cultures that still run until now is animals as medicine, traditional ritual, and mystical. This research aims to obtain data on animal species used as medicine, traditional ritual, and mystic, the animal body parts used, how to process, and how to use them. The method used in this research is the survey method, the selection of respondents conducted by snowball sampling techniques, and data collection used the questionnaire. Fourteen respondents obtained this research, eight animal species from 8 families used as a medicine, three species from 3 families used as traditional ritual, and three species from 3 families used as mystical by Dayak Benyadu community. The animal body parts used for treatment are flesh, spines, bile, legs, and blood. Variation of processing animals was scraped, dried, broken, roasted, boiled, and cooked. How to use the animal's body parts are drunk and eaten. The parts used for traditional rituals are the whole body and blood. The parts that are used for mystical values are the voice and the whole body.Keywords: Dayak Benyadu, Traditional ritual, Untang Village.AbstrakPemanfaatan berbagai sumber daya alam hayati dilakukan oleh manusia untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya sehari-hari.  Pemanfaatan yang digunakan yaitu sebagai makanan, obat-obatan, ritual adat, mistis, kesenian daerah, dan berburu. Suku Dayak Benyadu, yang terletak di Desa Untang, Kecamatan Banyuke Hulu, Kabupaten Landak, adalah Suku Dayak yang masih menjalankan nilai-nilai budaya yang diwariskan dari leluhur mereka secara turun-temurun. Salah satu budaya yang masih berjalan hingga sekarang adalah memanfaatkan satwa sebagai obat, ritual adat dan mistis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan data jenis satwa yang digunakan sebagai obat, ritual adat dan mistis, bagian-bagian yang digunakan, cara pengolahan dan cara penggunaannya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei, pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling dan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner. Penelitian ini diperoleh 14 responden terpilih dan diperoleh 8 jenis satwa dari 8 famili yang digunakan sebagai obat, 3 jenis satwa dari 3 famili yang digunakan sebagai ritual adat dan 3 jenis satwa dari 3 famili yang digunakan  untuk mistis oleh masyarakat Dayak Benyadu. Bagian tubuh yang digunakan untuk pengobatan adalah daging, duri, empedu, kaki, dan darah. Cara pengolahan satwa tersebut bervariasi, ada yang dikikis, dikeringkan, dipecah, dibakar, direbus, dan dimasak. Cara menggunakan bagian tubuh satwa tersebut diminum dan dimakan. Bagian yang digunakan untuk ritual adat adalah  seluruh badan dan darah. Bagian yang dimanfaatkan untuk nilai mistis adalah suara dan seluruh badan.  Kata Kunci: Dayak Benyadu, Desa Untang, Ritual Adat.

Abstract

Nepenthes is a type of liana plant (vines) that can grow and develop in the tropical rain forest area. Nepenthes' appearance is very exotic because at of the leaf sheet pockets, appear with different colors and sizes. The unique characteristic that makes this plants different from others. The ability to catch insects that are used as nutrients to help their growth and development, marked by the formation of pockets at the tips of their leaves. The purpose of this research is to identify the species and sites of Nepenthes growth. Obtaining Nepenthes data found in the buffer forests of Sepan sub-village, Lanjak Deras Village, Batang Lupar District, Kapuas Hulu Regency. This study used a field survey method, with multiple plot technique. 45 observational plots were made with a size of 2 x 2 meters each. Six Nepenthes species were found, namely N. ampullaria, N. bicalcarata, N. gracilis, N. mirabilis, N. rafflesiana, N. reinwardtiana. The most common type found in the study site in the Buffor Forest Sepan sub-village, Lanjak Deras Village, is the type of Nepenthes gracilis with a total of 829 individuals. The fewest species found were Nepenthes bicalcarata with 17 individuals. Five from the six types of Nepenthes spp found at the research location were in the IUCN Red List, namely N. ampullaria, N. gracilis, N. mirabilis, N. rafflesiana and N. reinwardtiana included in conservation status, Least Concern (LC) or low risk (IUCN Red List, 2016)Keywords : Identification, Nepenthes, Lanjak Deras sub-village.AbstrakNepenthes merupakan jenis tanaman liana (sulur) yang dapat tumbuh dan berkembang di kawasan hutan hujan tropis. Penampilan Nepenthes sangat eksotik karena pada kantong-kantong lembaran daun, muncul dengan warna dan ukuran yang berbeda. Ciri khas yang membuat tanaman ini berbeda dari yang lain. Kemampuan menangkap serangga yang digunakan sebagai nutrisi untuk membantu pertumbuhan dan perkembangannya, ditandai dengan terbentuknya kantong-kantong pada ujung daunnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi spesies dan tempat tumbuhnya Nepenthes. Memperoleh data Nepenthes yang ditemukan di hutan penyangga Dusun Sepan, Desa Lanjak Deras, Kecamatan Batang Lupar, Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei lapangan, dengan teknik multiple plot. Dibuat 45 petak pengamatan dengan ukuran masing-masing 2 x 2 meter. Enam spesies Nepenthes yang ditemukan yaitu N. ampullaria, N. bicalcarata, N. gracilis, N. mirabilis, N. rafflesiana, N. reinwardtiana. Jenis yang paling banyak ditemukan di lokasi penelitian di Dusun Sepan Hutan Kerbau, Desa Lanjak Deras, adalah jenis Nepenthes gracilis dengan jumlah total 829 individu. Jenis yang paling sedikit ditemukan adalah Nepenthes bicalcarata dengan jumlah 17 individu. Abstract

Tourism Object Coast Datok Island is one of the leading tourist attraction found in Kayong Utara District. The purpose of this study to determine the level of consumer demand, the ratio of travel costs between Datok Island Beach and Air Pauh. The data were collected for ± 4 weeks in the field. The method used is interview technique with quesioner tool. Sampling was done by accidental sampling and the number of samples were 60 respondents. The result of the research shows that the level of consumer demand is low (66.67%) only visit 1-2 times / month this is because the visitors are dominated by local residents with distance of living not far from Datok Island Beach. Abstract

This research aims to determine a diversity of plants seedlings, saplings, poles, trees and to find out the the most dominant vegetation species as a composition in the area of Arboretum Sylva  Tanjungpura University Pontianak. The method used is a survey method. Sampling was done by using the technique of random transect. The data were then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively, using the formula of Shannon Diversity Index. The results of this research showed that in the area of Arboretum Sylva  Tanjungpura University Pontianak there are 15 species in the seedling stage, 35 species in the pole stage, 28 species in the sapling stage and 54 species in the tree stage. Species diversity index (H) on the growth rate showed a stable community with a diversity of species for seedlings with H value of 0.99496, for saplings with H value of 1.36105, for poles with H value of 1.25300 and for trees with H value of 1.31710. Dominance Index value (C) showed a species dominance rate that is in the low range because for the seedling stage, the C value was 0.13317; for sapling stage, the C value was 0.06231; for pole stage, the C value was 0.08404; for tree stage, the C value was 0, 1046. The species abundance index value (e) indicated the level of diversity is high because for the seedling stage, the e value was 0.84598, for the sapling stage, the e value was 0.88147, for the pole stage, the e value was 0.86584, for the tree stage, the e was 0,76028.Keywords: Arboretum, Diversity of forest composition, Pontianak.

Abstract

The mangrove forest is one of the very important natural resources for the forestry and fishery that is closely related to the preservation of aquatic ecosystem. The mangrove forest in PT. Kandelia Alam is 18.130 ha in size. The mangrove forest area has of PT. Kandelia Alam  has potential of natural attraction that can be develoved as a tourist area such as the endemic flora and fauna, aquatic biodiversity and many other activities to do in the area. The purpose if this research was to determine the  potential of objects that exist in the area of PT. Kandelia Alam. This research was conducted through observation and Accidental sampling in the field and conducted with a descriptive analysis. The potential of the natural attraction  found in the area includes mangrove forest ecosystem consisting of fauna, flora, mangrove forest vegetation, aquatic biodiversity, and black hornbill (Anthracoceros malayanus), and the flora are mangrove (Rhizophora apiculata), teruntum (Lumnitzera littorea), belukap (Rhizophora mucronata), and endemic species of kandelia (Kandelia candel), types of vegetation of mangroves, and nypa vegetation, while the natural phenomena are the sun set and the water flow; aquatic biodiversity found there : crab, shrimp, and  fish ; the activities that can be done as the tourist potential are boating, photography, wildlife observation, fishing, enjoying views of the sun set, and research. The potential of mangrove forest ecosystem are considered either to be develoved as a natural tourist attraction of mangrove forest in the area of PT. Kandelia Alam by in volving various parties such as the office of tourism, the community, and the WWF (World Wide Fund For Nature) and a good coorperation.Keyword : Attraction nature, Mangrove forest, Potential.

Abstract

The tesso nilo national park (TNNP) is a nature conservation area located in Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province with an area of ±83,068 hectares. The TNNP is administratively located in two districts of Pelalawan and Indragiri Hulu in Riau Province. This region has the type of lowland tropical rain forest, with a height of 50-175 m above sea level with flat to hilly topography. This research aims to identify the food source availability for sumatran elephants ( Elephas maximus sumatranus). This research was conducted at the Air Hitam Resort In Tesso Nilo National Park, Pelalawan Regency of Riau Province which was held from 27 April to June 20, 2016. The locations of the study were divided into three habitat types, namely: open habitat and swamps, shrub and natural forest. The amount of food for elephants found at the Air Hitam Resort TNNP is composed of 39 species of the open habitat and 7 species of the swamp, shrub habitat 9 species and 22 species of natural forest habitat. The overall support capacity of elephant food at the Air Hitam Resort TNNP with an area of 11,252 ha is 39,472.61 individuals/day and can accommodate as many as 798 elephants. The number of elephants found in the research sites was as many as 25-30 individuals (seen from the groups of elephants spread across the research sites). Abstract

Knowledge of the nature and chemical composition of a type of wood makes the utilization of such wood as industrial cultivators such as pulp and paper, rayon, fiberboard, cement board, wood durability and others can be considered. A type of wood can be recommended as a raw material, it is necessary to introduce the wood in order that the processing, utilization, and treatment can be appropriate and efficient. The aim of this research is to know the chemical variation of sengon wood (Albizia falcataria (L.) Fosberg) based on height of stem (base, middle, and tip) which include extractive, holocellulose, alpha cellulose, and lignin.The chemical research of Albizia falcataria (L.) Fosberg wood was done by sampling of Ambawang River area, Kubu Raya District. The test was conducted in the laboratory of Forest Product Technology Faculty of Forestry, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak using ASTM standard. The purpose of this research is to know chemical component of Albizia falcataria (L.) Fosberg wood. Wood chemical components observed include percentage of moisture content, holocellulose, cellulose, lignin, and extractive (alcohol benzene) at the height position of the stem. The results showed that the moisture content of this wood is 13.5389 %, holocellulose 77.84616 % Of Alpha cellulose 64.29624 % (including high category), hemicellulose 13.54992 %, lignin 21.10961% (including moderate percentage), and extractive substances (alcohol benzene) are 3.226568 % (including moderate percentage).Keywords: Albizia falcataria (L.) Abstract

The research aimed to find out types of rattan, types of handicrafts, and the utilization process by the craftsmen community in the village of Menyabo. The subject of the study was community in the village of Menyabo utilizing rattan. The object of research is rattan which is utlization by the community. The research method was the survey, in which the sample was taken through sampling techniques using a census from the entire craftsman community. The data were collected through an in-depth interview by referring to interview guidelines. The results of data analysis showed that there were only a few types of rattan found in Menyabo village, and only two types of rattan used, namely Marau rattan and Sega rattan. The product  in the form of a bearable, takin, fork, tengkalang/basket, winnow, and shoe/sandals rack. Menyabo village community do not market the product. All types of product is only used for daily needs as kitchen furniture. Keywords: Utilization, Rattan, Community

Abstract

One of the natural attractions in Ketapang Regency is Air Mata Permai Beach. This Tourism Object has natural attractions such as coastal scenery, sunset beauty, and others. The purpose of this study is to provide an assessment of the tourism objects and characteristics of visitors to Air Mata Permai Beach in Sungai Awan Village, Ketapang Regency. Research from May to June 2018, the research method uses a survey method by giving questionnaires or questionnaires as instruments to respondents by accidental sampling. The results of the study show that the assessment of potential objects includes the assessment of attractiveness, accessibility, accommodation obtains value (A) for the assessment of criteria for the conditions of the socio-economic environment and the assessment of supporting facilities and infrastructure gets a value (B). While the value for potential development of tourism object in Air Mata Permai Beach in Sungai Awan Village, Muara Pawan District, Ketapang Regency is 2,486.8 and the average value is 497.36 or value (A), which is potential to be developed. The characteristics of visitors  Air Mata Permai Beach, which includes female sex, dominate around 53.30%, with the age of visitors who frequently visit an average of 13-22 years and the origin of visitors who dominate comes from Sungai Awan Village with a presentation of 26.68% because the location is close to the beach location.Keywords: , Assessment of Air Mata Permai Beach Objects, haracteristics of visitors
