Abstract

The underlying issue addressed in this research is the low motivation and learning outcomes of students. This is attributed to the conventional teaching model, which is teacher-centered and the use of media that tends to make students passive and uninterested in the learning process. The aim of this study is to describe the improvement in motivation and learning outcomes of 8th-grade students at Catholic Junior High School Muder Teresa on cartesian coordinate material through discovery learning assisted by interactive powerpoint. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting og 4 stages, namely Planning, Impelemtation, Observation and reflection. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, questionnaires tests and documentation. Furthermore, the data were analyzed descriptively. The research result showed in the initial condition average motivation score of students at 53,86. Increasedto 70.5 in first cycle, and 79.64 in the second cycle. While the percentage of students who complated was 57.14% in the first cycle and second cyclewas 89.29%. Thus it can be concluded that the discovery learning model assisted by interactive powerpoint can improve the motivation and learning outcomes of 8th-grade students at Catholic Junior High School Muder Teresa on cartesian coordinate material. Abstract

Kemajuan dalam bidang pendidikan perlu ditingkatkan dengan memanfaatkan inovasi teknologi dalam pengembangan bahan ajar. Penggunaan bahan ajar berbasis android merupakan salah satu inovasi pemanfaatan teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar matematika berbasis android yang valid, praktis, dan efektif menggunakan Powerpoint dan Ispring Suite pada materi eksponen kelas X SMA Negeri 4 Kupang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Research and Development dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu: analisis (analysis); desain (design); dan pengembangan (development); implementasi (implementation); dan evaluasi (evaluation). Teknik dan instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, angket, dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bahan ajar berbasis android pada materi eksponen memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Hasil kelayakan bahan ajar diperoleh dari penilaian 3 orang ahli materi dengan rata-rata kevalidan 4.56 dan termasuk kategori “valid”. Untuk aspek kepraktisan, respon bahan ajar oleh guru dengan rata-rata hasil respon 4.2, respon dari peserta didik kelas kecil adalah 4.7 dan kelas besar adalah 4.48 sehingga termasuk dalam kategori “praktis”. Untuk kriteria keefektifan, presentase hasil ketuntaasan belajar kelas kecil diperoleh 100% dan kelas besar diperoleh hasil ketuntasan kelas 69.44% sehingga media pembelajaran dikategorikan “efektif”. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif.

Abstract

Queuing is a waiting line state where a number of entrants are involved to get services from a service providing facility. One example of queuing activities that are common in the community is taking medicine at the Meko Village Health Center. The purpose of this study was to obtain an optimal queuing model at the drug collection counter at the Meko Village Health Center. Based on the analysis, at this time the service at the drug collection counter at the Meko Village health center that uses queues with a single channel single phase (M/M/1) model is not optimal. To optimize services, the application of the multi-channel single phase multiple line queue model (M/M/c) where c = 3 results in a measure of system performance, namely the probability of no customers in the system ( ) is 0.034 = 3.4%, the service utility rate (ρ) is 0.866 = 86.6%, number patient in the queue ( ) is 5 customers, number patient in the system ( ) is 8 customers, waiting time in the queue ( ) is 22,38 minutes, and waiting time in the system ( ) is 34,38 minutes. By applying the multi-channel single phase (M/M/c) multiple line queue model, it becomes an alternative solution in providing good and optimal service to patients at the Meko Village health center.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the use of learning models that students did not like, low understanding of fraction material, and low learning outcomes in mathematics learning. This research aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes with a problem based learning model assisted by fraction puzzles at SD Negeri Purworejo 01. This research method is classroom action research. The subjects of this research were class III, totaling 21 students, consisting of 11 male students and 10 female students. The research procedure consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection with data collection techniques using observation, interviews and tests, while data analysis techniques use quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The research results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes in each cycle, from cycle I an average of 70, equivalent to 33% in the good category, and in cycle II it increased with an average of 83.57, equivalent to 71% in the very good category. The conclusion of this research is that the Problem Based Learning Model assisted by fraction puzzles can improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class III students at SD Negeri Purworejo 01.

Abstract

Matematika dan budaya adalah sesuatu yang penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan saling berkaitan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan matematika dalam budaya ritual Kudja Ma di Desa Bolou Kecamatan Sabu Timur serta menyusun perangkat pembelajaran untuk beberapa konsep matematika yang ditemukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Bolou Kecamatan Sabu Timur, dengan informan sebanyak 4 orang. Jenis penelitiannya deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Instrumen utama adalah peneliti sendiri, yang berperan mengumpulkan data melalui metode yang ada. Uji keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi sumber. Data diidentifikasi dan dianalisis menggunakan karakteristik-karakteristik etnomatematika dengan berlandaskan pada model Miles dan Huberman, kemudian dihubungkan dengan konsep matematika sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, ditemukan etnomatematika yang terkandung dalam ritual Kudja Ma berupa aktivitas. Dari aktivitas-aktivitas tersebut, maka dapat diidentifikasi konsep-konsep matematika didalamnya yang meliputi konsep perkalian sebagai penjumlahan berulang, pengukuran dengan satuan tidak baku, geometri, pola bilangan, transformasi geometri, dan geometri bangun datar. Pada penelitian ini, perangkat pembelajaran bentuk geometri dan pola bilangan konsep perbandingan senilai dan dipilih untuk dirancang sebagai salah satu contoh perangkat pembelajaran

Abstract

Employee certification in a company is one of the important aspects in the world of work that will show the competence and quality of an employee. However, to get the appropriate results, the company uses a support system from data analysts. This research aims to create a website-based data visualization system that can present employee certification information clearly, get the results of employee data analysis for certification decision making using the Naive Bayes method. This research was conducted in 2 stages, namely the training and testing stages using 5 attributes. Data processing was carried out using 59 training data and 59 testing data. This research produces a system that can assist in making decisions on the eligibility of employees who want to take certification using the naive bayes method and visualize it, the results obtained from the system are 10 data that are not eligible for certification with an accuracy of 96%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of mathematics anxiety and the factors that cause mathematics anxiety in terms of neuroscience. The research method used is qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The research subjects were 31 students of class XII of SMA Swasta Bintang Timur 1 Balige. Data on the level of math anxiety was obtained through a literature study assisted by a questionnaire to determine the factors that affect math anxiety according to neuroscience. The results showed that 18 students experienced high levels of math anxiety and 13 other students experienced moderate levels of math anxiety. Students experience the most math anxiety from a cognitive perspective as shown by a percentage of 37.1% and the symptoms that are often felt are often forgetting formulas and feeling overwhelmed when doing math tasks that require a high level of thinking. From a neuroscience point of view, cognitive math anxiety is influenced by the neocortex; math anxiety based on personality factors is influenced by the autonomic nervous system; and math anxiety from social factors is influenced by the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) brain network. Abstract

Based on the interview results, student learning outcomes at SMAN 3 Kupang for algebraic function derivative material are low, which is just about 50% students passing the semester test. Students have difficulty in understanding the material from the book, and only some students are active in giving responses. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of algebraic function derivative material in class XI MIPA SMAN 3 Kupang by using the Discovery Learning model assisted by eworksheet to make students become more active and the learning process becomes more interesting. This research is a class action research and the subjects are 36 students class XI MIPA 1 and researchers as teachers. The results showed that student learning outcomes had improved, shown by the presentation of classical completeness which is 62.5% in cycle I and increased to 87.5% in cycle II. The percentage of teacher activity is 91.67% in cycle I became 93.75% in cycle II and it is in the very good category. The percentage of student activity is 84.38% in cycle I became 85.98% in cycle II and it is in the good category so it can be concluded that the discovery learning model assisted by eworksheet can improve the learning outcomes of algebraic function derivative material in class XI MIPA SMAN 3 Kupang.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the mathematics learning results of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 East Kupang, especially regarding the material on systems of linear equations in two variables which was still low. The aim of this research is to improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 East Kupang on two-variable linear equation systems.The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which refers to a modelKemmis & Mc Taggart, which was carried out in 2 cycles with each cycle consisting of 4 stages, namely: 1) planning; 2) implementation; 3) observation; and 4) reflection. Data collection techniques in research are observation and tests, while data analysis is descriptive qualitative and quantitative.The results of this research show that the percentage of classical student learning completeness in cycle I was 66.67%, increasing to 80.95% in cycle II, the value of implementing observations of teacher teaching activities in cycle I and cycle II was 100%, and the value of implementing student activities in cycle I it was 84% ​​increasing to 100% in cycle II. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the modeldiscovery learningwith the help of powtoon animation videos, it can improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 East Kupang on the material of systems of linear equations in two variables.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a learning approach designed to address the diverse learning needs of students. The aim of this research is to develop a learning design that is suitable for the varying levels of understanding and competency among students, and is effective in meeting the specific learning needs of students at SMP Negeri 17 Kota Kupang, particularly in comprehending the topics related to linear functions, specifically the subchapter on gradients. The research methodology employed is design research, which involves three stages: the preliminary stage (initial design), the implementation stage (experimentation), and the retrospective analysis stage (retrospective analysis). Data collection techniques and instruments used include tests (diagnostic assessment and formative assessment), interviews, and observations. The data analysis techniques employed encompass qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. This research yields a learning design that caters to students' needs and provides ample learning opportunities. Each activity in LKPD aids students in grasping concepts such as determining the gradient of a straight line passing through a central point and another point, finding the gradient of a line passing through two points, determining the gradient of a line from its equation, and applying these skills to solve real-life problems involving gradients. The research findings indicate an improvement in students' understanding and abilities, thus confirming the effectiveness of the developed learning design in enhancing students' learning outcomes.
