Abstract

This research aims to develop mathematics learning media based on an Android application using I-Spring on two-variable linear equation systems material for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Rote Barat Laut that is valid, practical and effective. The method used in this research is the Research and Development method using the ADDIE model. The data collection techniques and instruments used were interviews, questionnaires and tests. The data analysis techniques used are qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. The research results show that the learning media developed meets the eligibility criteria for learning media, namely valid, practical and effective. The average total validity by material and media experts was 4.41 in the "valid" category. The average total practicality of students in small classes is 4.615, the average total practicality of teachers in large classes is 4.67, and the average total practicality of students in large classes is 4.68 in the "practical" category. The percentage of student learning completeness in the small class trial was 100% with the "very effective" category and the large class trial was 75% with the "effective" category. Thus, the learning media developed is valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze and describe the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students in relation and function material. The research subjects were 22 students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Pekanbaru class. The type of research is descriptive qualitative with data collection in the form of written tests and interviews. The written test was in the form of a description of 3 questions. Data analysis was done through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students' overall mathematical communication skills were still low with an average of 23.48%. Students achieved indicator 1 (written text) by 28.41%, indicator 2 (drawing) by 35.23%, and indicator 3 (mathematical expressions) by 7.95%. Students' difficulties occurred when converting problem information into mathematical models, explaining the solution steps coherently, and using correct mathematical language. This was caused by limited prerequisite skills, low concept understanding, and poor writing skills.

Abstract

The main reason of this study was the condition of some students who could not do the learning instruction and usually accepted the learning material slowly, so made them missed the process and even needed more time than usual. One of the reasons was the learning instruction which never gave more attentions for the student’s needs and conditions. Because of that, this study aimed to produce the desain of differentiated instruction learning on social arithmetic material, especially at seventh degree students of SMPK Giovanni Kupang. The kind of this study was desain research. This study done at SMPK Giovanni Kupang with the subject was the group of seventh degree students. The technique of data collecting in this study consisted of test, observation, and interview. This study used the descriptive-qualitative and quantitaive as the technique of data analysis. Qualitative datas was gained by the result of interview activities and observation, meanwhile qualitative datas was gained by the result of assesment. This study produced the desain of differentiated instruction learning that focussed at content learning and could used to support social arithmetic material. The results showed that mathematic learning by using the desain of differentiated learning in content could used effectively because the student could knew and understood the learning material well while increased their learning outcome.

Abstract

Penggunaan media pembelajaran memegang peranan penting dalam mendukung peningkatan pemahaman dan minat belajar siswa khususnya pada bidang matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kevalidan media pembelajaran powerpoint interaktif yang dikembangkan untuk menyampaikan materi ajar pada materi kongruensi dan kesamaan. Metode yang digunakan adalah R&D dengan model 4D yaitu Define (mendefinisikan), Design (mendesain), Develop (mengembangkan), Disseminate (menyebarluaskan). Namun pada penelitian ini pengembangan hanya sebatas pengembangan saja. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah angket validitas untuk mengumpulkan data dari ahli validator, guna menilai kelayakan pengembangan media pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa uji validitas media pembelajaran powerpoint interaktif yang dikembangkan menghasilkan nilai kelayakan validitas sebesar 89% dengan kriteria sangat layak.

Abstract

Population growth is a vital aspect of regional planning; however, the limited availability of census data over certain periods poses challenges for strategic decision-making. Therefore, a predictive method capable of accurately filling data gaps is essential. This study employs the Lagrange polynomial interpolation method, implemented in MATLAB, to model and predict the population of Sleman Regency from 2016 to 2045, including estimates for years beyond the available data. The analysis results indicate that the Lagrange interpolation method can generate reasonably accurate predictions and reflect a stable growth trend following the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of MATLAB facilitates calculations and visualization, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the analysis. These findings affirm that Lagrange interpolation is an effective tool for demographic data prediction, which is crucial for supporting data-driven policymaking toward sustainable development. Based on these results, it is expected that the accuracy of regional and national development strategies can be improved in addressing future socio-economic dynamics.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine whether lifestyle significantly affects learning motivation. This study employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design, involving 54 randomly selected respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed via Google Form and analyzed using simple linear regression and ANOVA tests. The results showed no significant effect of lifestyle on students’ learning motivation. Although the relationship direction appeared negative, the influence was very weak and statistically insignificant. These findings indicate that lifestyle is not a major factor in shaping students’ learning motivation. Future research is recommended to explore other variables such as academic goals, learning interest, and social support as more relevant predictors of learning motivation

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Discovery Learning with e-Worksheet GeoGebra on the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at MTs AT-Taqwa Bondowoso. A quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group design was conducted with a control group (VIII D) and an experimental group (VIII C). The results of the study show that the use of e-Worksheet GeoGebra with the Discovery Learning method enhances student activity and learning outcomes. The homogeneity test (p = 0.155) and normality test (p > 0.05) indicated that the data were homogeneous and normally distributed. The gain score analysis showed a higher average score increase in the experimental group (11.81) compared to the control group (5.56). The posttest t-test (t = 3.8416, p = 0.001) and gain score t-test (t = 4.877, p = 0.000) showed significant differences between the two groups. Therefore, Discovery Learning using e-Worksheet GeoGebra has a significant effect and is more effective than the conventional method in improving student learning outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Susat Suling media based on GeoGebra in supporting students’ understanding of the relationship between central angles and inscribed angles in circles. A descriptive quantitative method with a one-shot case study design was employed. The subjects of this study were 35 students from class XI IPS 1 at MAN 1 Lamongan. The instruments used included validation sheets and learning outcome tests. Expert validation results indicated that the Susat Suling media achieved a feasibility score of 87.7%, which falls into the 'Highly Feasible' category. Following its implementation in the classroom, data showed that 82.9% of students scored ≥70 on the post-test. These results suggest that the media effectively facilitated students’ understanding of the central and inscribed angle concepts in a more concrete and interactive manner. Thus, Susat Suling can serve as an innovative alternative for visual-based mathematics instruction

Abstract

This study aims to examine the mathematical problem-solving abilities of seventh-grade junior high school students on the topic of integers. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving 36 students from a public junior high school in Kampar Regency. Data were collected through three specially designed written test items and semi-structured interviews to explore students' thinking processes. The results show that students’ abilities can be categorized into three levels: high (13.89%), moderate (69.44%), and low (16.67%). Students in the high category demonstrated systematic steps and critical reflection. Those in the moderate category generally understood the problems but often made mistakes in selecting and applying appropriate strategies and showed a lack of accuracy. Students in the low category struggled at almost every stage of problem-solving. Contributing factors include understanding of basic mathematical concepts, strategy selection, accuracy, and clarity of the problem statements. The study recommends the use of contextual and reflective learning approaches to enhance students' mathematical problem-solving skills.
