Abstract

The demand for organic rice products in the Al Barokah Gapoktan until 2021 reaches 520 tons/year, while the availability of raw materials is only 430 tons/year. So it is necessary to expand the land and recruit organic farmers. This study aims to find factors that influence the decision making of organic rice cultivation in the Al Barokah Gapoktan, Bondowoso Regency. This research is a descriptive quantitative study, with interview data collection techniques through questionnaires to 76 samples taken through simple random sampling. The data is then processed and analyzed using multiple linear regression data analysis. The results of the analysis of the data obtained, the availability of services (farm credit, facilities & infrastructure, marketing guarantees) and the nature of innovation (relative profit, compatibility, complexity and observability) have a significant effect on decision making in organic rice cultivation. Meanwhile, the characteristics of farmers (age, education, intensity of attending counseling, land area and income) did not significantly influence the decision making of organic rice cultivation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the household income of beef cattle farmer in Manokwari Regency. The samples used were 173 beef cattle farmer. Data analysis used quantitative data to determine farmer household income. The results of this study show that the average income of beef cattle farmer from on farm in Manokwari Regency is the largest in cattle ownership of more than 10 tails, followed by 5-10 tails and less than 5 tails. It show that the more the number of livestock so that the higher the income. Beef cattle farmer income in Manokwari Regency comes from on farm, off farm and non farm. Income from on farm has a higher contribution compared to income from off farm and non farm.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of farmers' perceptions of Alsintan Service Enterprises (UPJA) and the factors that influence farmers' perceptions of UPJA. The research was conducted using survey techniques, descriptive analysis and inferential statistics. The research location was determined purposively, namely Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. The UPJA sample was determined purposively, namely UPJA Tirtosari. The sample of farmers was determined purposively, namely UPJA customer farmers as many as 30 respondents, both members of the UPJA group and not members of the UPJA group. Analysis of the level of farmers' perceptions of UPJA statistically quantitative descriptive using a Likert scale with a score of 1 - 5, and the factors that influence farmers' perceptions using multiple linear regression analysis with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. The results showed that farmers' perceptions of UPJA with a score of 4.31 were in the very good category. Perception-forming factors, namely length of formal education, age, farming experience, land area, access to information, the role of extension workers and the role of farmer groups simultaneously influence farmers' perceptions of UPJA significantly. The factor of the role of farmer groups influences farmers' perceptions of UPJA very significantly.

Abstract

Motivation is one aspect that determines the success of livestock business as an economic activity in increasing income and fulfilled family needs. The research was carried out in Ngudi Makmur II Farmers Group and Tirto Kencono Farmers Group, Banyudono Village, Dukun District from 05 March to 30 April 2018. The aim were to know the level of motivation of farmers in the cultivation of sheep and determine the relation between characteristics of the farmers to motivation in sheep farming. The study design used was descriptive quantitative. The variables of this research consisted of independent variables such as the characteristics of farmers (age, education level, farming experience, the number of livestock ownership and the number of family dependents) and the dependent variable in the form of farmers motivation. Respondents in this study were 35 people taken by census method. Data were collected by observation and interview. Motivation levels were analyzed descriptively while the relationship between variables were analyzed by Rank Spearman correlation. The results showed that 2.86% of farmers at moderate level, 42.86% of farmers at high level and 54.29% of farmers at very high level. The aging of farmers is likely to decrease the motivation in the cultivation of sheep, the higher the level of education of farmers that motivation increases, the more the number of livestock owned by the motivation tends to increase, farmers with more experience tend to have a higher motivation and the greater number of dependents the motivation of farmers tend more increasing.

Abstract

In Jambu Village, 12 farmer groups were formed to improve farmers' knowledge and skills. This study aimed to determine farmers' perceptions of the role of farmer groups in Jambu Village, Lenteng Sub-district, Sumenep District. This research was conducted from November 2022 - January 2023. The number of samples used was 57 farmers from 2 farmer groups selected by purposive and census. The analytical method used is descriptive with a Likert scale to measure farmers’ perception level. The results of the analysis showed that the role of farmer groups as learning classes, vehicles for cooperation, and production units was overall quite good with the role of learning classes being the highest and the role as a production unit being low. So it is necessary to optimize the role of farmer groups as production units by conducting group business activities.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze the level of knowledge and skills of farmers in utilizing pineapple peel silage. Counseling was carried out using the applied study method, lectures, demonstrations, demonstrations and discussions and then analyzed aspects of knowledge and skills through the distribution of pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The target of counseling on members of the Laksana Jaya farmer group was 30 members of the farmer group. Counseling material in the form of an introduction to silage, making pineapple skin silage and sheep farming agribusiness. The instrument was tested for validity and reliability. The results of measuring the knowledge of breeders in utilizing silage technology in the Laksana Jaya farmer group showed a score of 38.96 with the criteria of being quite successful while the skills aspect showed a score of 50% with the criteria of being quite successful. The conclusion is the increasing knowledge and skills of farmers in the utilization of pineapple peels as animal feed silage

Abstract

Agro Innovation Park (Tagrinov) is an innovation in the display of technology for the use of yards at BBP2TP which functions as a place for education regarding the optimal arrangement of yard areas. Tagrinov's activity is to provide services for innovative technology mentoring activities for the use of yards. The farmer women's group is one of the communities that have received Tagrinov's mentoring services. This study aims to determine the effect of the communication process in the Agro Innovation Park (Tagrinov) mentoring program on the performance of women's farmer groups in Bogor through the intervention of the communication effect variable. The research method is quantitative. The research location is Bogor City. The sample was determined by proportional random sampling method of 55 respondents. Data analysis used path analysis using the IBM SPSS 25 application. The results showed that the communication process in the Agro Innovation Park mentoring program through communication effects had a significant effect on the performance of women's farmer groups in Bogor.
