Abstract

Introduction. The focus of this research is to determine the comparison in the analysis of information literacy skills based on the empowering eight model, as an effort in information seeking to complete paper assignments. According to the author's belief, members of the student librarian association surely have a different frequency of library visits compared to non-member students because their tasks and functions are indirectly related to the library. Data Collection Methods. The research that will be conducted will use a quantitative method, with a descriptive mono-variable approach. Data Analysis. The primary data source is the main sample of the research obtained from the questionnaire. Secondary data acquisition involves the use of supporting literature and previous research. The sampling technique used in this study is quota sampling. The data analysis procedures involve validity testing (Pearson correlation), reliability testing (Cronbach's alpha), and descriptive statistical analysis. Results and Discussion. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant difference between the skill outcomes of students who are members of the DLC and those who are not. The main deficiency for both groups of students, whether DLC members or non-members, lies in determining the topic for paper composition. The weakness lies in the application of the empowering eight information literacy model to determine the topic. The strength of both groups of students lies in their ability to select information. Conclusion. There is a need to improve information literacy skills, particularly in identifying information for the purpose of determining paper topics. Libraries can provide training and workshops on information literacy to address this issue.

Abstract

Geopark literacy is the ability to understand and appreciate the geological heritage and the biological, cultural, and social diversity associated with a geopark area. Geopark literacy can be improved through various media and strategies, one of which is the geopark corner. Corner Geopark is a special room in the library that provides information and education about parks through books, brochures, posters, videos, and local products. This study aims to examine the development of geopark literacy through Corner Geopark at the Archives and Library Service (DISARPUS) of Kebumen Regency. The research method uses a qualitative approach by collecting data through in-depth interviews with librarians who have developed Corner Geopark, direct observation, and document analysis. The research location is at the Kebumen Regency Library and Library Office, which is located on Veteran Street No. 1, Kebumen. The results showed that the Geopark Corner at DISARPUS has been running since 2021 and has provided benefits to library visitors, especially students and teachers, and other user communities. Corner Geopark DISARPUS presents information about the Karangsambung-Karangbolong geopark, which according to the latest information is in the process of becoming one of the candidates for UNESCO Global Geopark in Indonesia. Corner Geopark DISARPUS Kebumen is also a means to promote tourism potential and local products in Kebumen Regency. This article recommends that the DISARPUS geopark corner can be improved in quality and quantity by adding a collection of books and other media relevant to geoparks, as well as organizing activities that can increase public interest and participation in geoparks.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan teknologi informasi menjadi faktor utama terjadinya pergeseran akan sebuah penyimpanan informasi disebuah lembaga informasi perpustakaan. Pergeseran yang bermula berbentuk cetak dan kini bergeser berbentuk elektronik digital. Tujuannya untuk memberikan kemudahan bagi mahasiswa dalam mendapatkan informasi tugas akhir atau hasil penelitian yang disediakan oleh lembaga pendidikan UIN Raden Intan. Peneliti menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Peneliti menggunakan skala likert untuk mengihitung hasil kuesioner dan rumus mean untuk melakukan pengolahan hasil kuesioner dan skala interval guna mendapatkan informasi dari nilai mean (rata-rata). Dalam pengukuran pemanfaatan peneliti menggunakan teori Model DeLone dan McLean, dengan 5 indikator dan 7 pernyataan yang peneliti sebarkan ke 17 responden. Hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan angka-angka dengan klasifikasi 3,8 untuk pernyataan pertama, 4 untuk kedua, 3,7 untuk ketiga, 3,8 untuk keempan, 3,8 untuk kelima, 3,7 untuk keenam dan 4 untuk ketujuh dengan keterangan skala interval bermakna tinggi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem repository yang disediakan di perpustakaan UIN Raden Intan yang berisikan tugas akhir perkuliahan dan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan oleh civitas akademika sangat dimanfaatkan oleh mahasiswa khususnya mahasiswa IPII dalam penyemburnaan referensi yang mahasiswa butuhkan dalam proses pekerjaan tugas-tugas perkuliahan.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pendayagunaan Artificial Intelligence (AI) merupakan salah satu faktor dalam melayani secara maksimal serta memuaskan kebutuhan informasi pengguna makin maju. Tujuan penelitian yaitu menyebarkan informasi koleksi digital khususnya budaya Kalimantan Selatan (Pasar Terapung Banjarmasin), melalui perpustakaan digital Universitas Lambung Mangkurat Banjarmasin dengan pendayagunaan artificial intelligence (AI). Pendekatan penelitian yang dilakukan mempergunakan metode penelitian kualitatif serta sumber data memakai berupa data sekunder yang didapat dari sebagian jurnal nasional, artikel serta penelitian yang telah terbit yang berkaitan dengan tema yang dikaji penulis setelah dianalisis kedalam penulisan. Penelitian ini mempergunakan jenis penelitian studi literatur seperti model review yang diambil yaitu narrative review. Studi yang dipilih pada model narrative review merupakan analisis dan disimpulkan berdasarkan pengetahuan teori serta model yang ada pada penulis.

Abstract

Library development is inseparable from technological developments, and one of the latest innovations that is gaining attention is artificial intelligence (AI). Librarian as profession is one of the pillars of library development, so it is important to study how they perceive and respond to AI developments. This research uses a quantitative design with a survey approach. The target of this research is the librarians of Universitas Islam Indonesia who are members of the WhatsApp Group of the Association of Islamic Higher Education Libraries (APPTIS) with 316 members as the population. The survey used Google form media whose links were distributed through the GWA from May 28 to June 2, 2024. There were 75 respondents from 15 provinces in Indonesia consisting of UIN, IAIN, and STAIN. The survey results show that 44% of respondents have a good perception of AI and make the use of AI in daily life a habit. While 56% have not made the use of AI a daily habit. The survey also found that Youtube is the most popular application used among librarians, followed by Google products (Google Scholar, Google Translate) which are more preferred than ChatGPT. Likewise, Google Trend is more preferred than elicit, litmaps and SciSpace. The survey also shows that librarians in Central Java are more likely to deliver AI materials to users than librarians in other regions. The results of the analysis also show that there is no difference in the level of perception based on the librarian's job title, institution status, or region.
