<![CDATA[Abstrak Penelitian ini berjudul “Konflik Pemikiran Modern Tokoh Callie Di Era 1815 dalam Novel Prada and Prejudice Karya Mandy Hubbard.” Tokoh utama yang bernama Callie mengalami berbagai konflik sosial dalam novel tersebut yang disebabkan oleh pola pemikiran modern Callie yang kurang berterima di kalangan masyarakat pada abad ke 18. Perbedaan generasi serta negara menimbulkan banyaknya perbedaan budaya atau kebiasaan, serta pola pemikiran. Tokoh Callie berasal dari Amerika abad ke 21, yang kemudian terjebak di Inggris pada abad ke 18. Penelitian ini memiliki maksud untuk memaparkan kondisi konflik sosial yang terjadi pada tokoh Callie. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif, di mana peneliti menjelaskan setiap data dengan cara deskriptif. Pendekatan yang diterapkan yaitu pendekatan sosiologi karya sastra. Peneliti menggunakan Teknik baca dan catat dalam penelitiannya. Fokus pembahasan dari penelitian ini yaitu menggambarkan konflik sosial yang terjadi pada tokoh Callie di era 1815 yang disebabkan oleh perbedaan pola pemikiran tersebut. <![CDATA[This study aims to analyze the 1998 Mulan movie, directed by Robert D. San Souci, which was produced by Walt Disney Pictures with the theme of women's emancipation. This study uses a qualitative approach with semiotic data analysis techniques. In this study, the data source used as the object of analysis was the Mulan movie by Robert D. San Souci. The symbols contained in the film were analyzed using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach, namely the denotation and connotation stages. This analysis focuses on the feminist thought of the Chinese people and traditional culture. The results of the research show that the feminism that is raised in the 1998 Mulan movie is liberal feminism and existentialist feminism. The character Mulan fights patriarchal ideology by leaving her hometown and replacing her ailing father to represent her family in the war against the Hun invaders ordered by the emperor. This Mulan movie depicts the phenomenon of women experiencing gender inequality in terms of marginalization, subordination, stereotypes, violence, and double workload. This movie also teaches us that a woman can give honor to her family and has the right to be responsible for herself.]]>

<![CDATA[Subtitle used in the movie for helping the audience understand the movie conversation, usually in the country that have a different language with the country which produce the movie. The translator ussually use the loanwords for help the audience understand the conversation easily. In this study, the authors will analyze the loanwords in the subtitle titled “Kata Serapan Pada Terjemahan Takarir Film Marriage Story”. This study aims at loanword strategy in subtitle the translation on Marriage Story dan the effect to audience. To analyze the loanwords strategy authors using a translation theory and loanwords theory. This study using descriptive and qualitative methods and the collecting data technique with teknik simak libat cakap, teknik rekam, and teknik catat method. The result of study that there are just two from three kind of loanwords, there are alternation change 6,25% and phonetic and phonemic change 93,75%. Moreover, authors found the positive and negative effect that happened to audiemce by the loanwords on the subtitle, there are increasimg the vocabullary for the audience. And for the negative effect, the audience is not understand the loanwords using, because it unsually word that they always do on daily.]]>

<![CDATA[This research’s title is sosial conflict in mango season novel by Amulya Malladi. In this novel, Priya is described as a girl that has lived in United State for seven years to study. After finished the study she have to come back to his country. Unwittingly, American lifestyle changed priya’s pointview to live. So, When she came back to India Priya conflict with his family because she has different pointview among his family to the live. The research’s purposes is to describe sosial conflict in mango season novel. This method’s research is descriptive’s qualitative according to moleong. The research’s subject is Amulya Malladi’s mango season. Sociology of literature is the approach of this research according to Damono to describe Priya’s conflict with his family. This research describe priya’s conflict with his family; Priya with his grandfather , Priya with his aunt, Priya with his grandmother, and Priya with his mom.]]>

<![CDATA[This research is entitled Anxiety Disorders in Cath Characters in Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl Novel. The purpose of this study is to describe anxiety disorders in the character Cath in the novel Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. The method that will be used is descriptive qualitative method. The theory that will be used focuses on the Psychoanalytic theory by Sigmund Freud, using the concepts of consciousness and the unconscious mind. The result of this study is that anxiety disorders have the concept of awareness and unconsciousness of a person's mind that can affect the way he faces reality.]]>

<![CDATA[This research is entitled The Struggle of Love Stories in the Novel The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon. The main character named Natsha Kingsley, a Jamaican girl who is tall in New York City is battling the deportation that the American government will carry out against her family. Natasha is also a realistic woman who doesn't believe in love and struggles to keep her family from being deported. However, her meeting with Daniel by chance, makes things complicated. Therefore, the American government plans to deport them today. This study aims to describe how the main character in Nicola Yoon's novel The Sun Is Also A Star and the struggle of the main character's love story in Nicola Yoon's novel The Sun Is Also A Star. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. Descriptive qualitative research is one type of research that is included in the type of qualitative research. The purpose of this study is to reveal events or facts, circumstances, phenomena, variables and circumstances that occurred during the study by presenting what actually happened. The approach applied is the Sociology of Literature. The sociology of literature is a reflective branch of literary research. This research is in great demand by researchers who want to see literature as a mirror of people's lives. <![CDATA[This study focuses on analyzing the Hierarchy of Needs by the main character named Dory of the animated film titled Finding Dory which was produced by Pixar Animation Studios in 2016. This study aims to examine the elements of the hierarchy of needs applied by the main character named Dory by using Abraham Maslow's theory. The qualitative descriptive method is applied in this study. This study used the observation technique as data collection technique to carefully collect the needed data. Research data is presented in written form collected from dialogues and digital film scripts. The results of the study found that there are five stages of Hirearchy Needs manifested by the main character of Finding Dory such as: psychological needs, safety needs, belonginess and love needs, esteem needs and self-actualization needs.]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan new historisme dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan representasi sejarah, budaya dan ekonomi dalam novel Runtuhnya Menara Azan karya Yanti Soeparno. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa satuan bahasa yang merefleksikan tentang representasi sejarah, budaya dan ekonomi. Adapun sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu novel Runtuhnya Menara Azan karya Yanti Soeparmo yang diterbitkan oleh Mizan Pustaka pada tahun 2009. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini yaitu penulis sendiri yang berorientasi pada penelitian tentang representasi sejarah, budaya dan ekonomi, dalam novel Runtuhnya Menara Azan karya Yanti Soeparmo. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik baca dan catat. Adapun teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan kategorisasi, penyajian, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertama, dalam novel Runtuhnya Menara Azan karya Yanti Soeparmo terefleksi representasi sejarah Indonesia mengenai peristiwa pencurian dan pembantaian massal yang dilakukan oleh rakyat Bumiputera terhadap bangsa Eropa yang telah mengambil alih hak rakyat. Kedua, representasi budaya dalam novel Runtuhnya Menara Azan karya Yanti Soeparmo yaitu budaya barat yang meliputi penggunaan bahasa dan pembagian kelas terhadap orang-orang Bumipuetra. Ketiga, representasi ekonomi yang digambarkan dalam novel Runtuhnya Menara Azan karya Yanti Soeparmo merupakan suatu kondisi perekonomian yang lemah hingga mengakibatkan rakyat sengsara dan munculnya berbagai jenis penyakit, seperti busung lapar hingga menyebabkan kematian.]]>

<![CDATA[Fahrenheit 451 merupakan novel yang ditulis oleh penulis Amerika bernama Ray Bradbury. Novel ini menceritakan tentang pembakaran buku. Seperti yang kita semua ketahui dalam kehidupan nyata, buku berperan besar bagi kelangsungan hidup kita. Karena, buku berisi pengetahuan, informasi, pengalaman dan hal yang bermanfaat lainnya. Sedangkan, dalam novel Fahrenheit 451 buku-buku harus dibakar. Fenomena tersebut memunculkan sebuah pertanyaan tentang 'Mengapa buku-buku harus dibakar?'. Penelitian ini akan menjabarkan sudut pandang yang dimiliki tokoh utama terhadap buku dalam novel Fahrenheit 451, berdasarkan teori dari Nurgiyantoro (2013). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan objektif, karena fokus penelitian pada unsur intrinsik. <![CDATA[Abstrak The House On Mango Street adalah novel karya penulis Meksiko-Amerika Sandra Cisneros yang diterbitkan pada tahun 1984 tentang seorang gadis yang telah mengalami semua kegembiraan, ketakutan, tantangan, dan transformasi menarik menjadi seorang remaja di lingkungan hispanik di Amerika. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengklarifikasi masalah sosial apa yang dialami oleh tokoh perempuan dalam novel Sandra Cisneros The House on Mango Street. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan sastra dan sosiologis.
