Abstract

The politicization of religion in election campaigns has become a global phenomenon with significant implications for voter behavior and democratic stability. This study aims to fill the gap in systematic understanding by conducting a bibliometric analysis of scholarly publications on religious issues in electoral contexts. Using data from the Scopus database (1980–2023), the study employs VOSviewer and RStudio to map publication trends, citation impact, geographical distribution, institutional contributions, and thematic networks. A total of 244 articles were analyzed, revealing a sharp increase in publications since 2000, with peaks in 2021. The United States and Indonesia emerged as dominant contributors, while Southeast Asian institutions showed strong local engagement. Thematic mapping identified “religious identity” and “voter behavior” as central themes, while topics like “digital religion” and “religious extremism” appeared as emerging or declining. The findings highlight the global relevance of religious discourse in political campaigns and its role in shaping polarization and identity politics. This study contributes to the academic field by offering a structured overview of the intellectual landscape and suggesting future research directions emphasizing cross-cultural collaboration and methodological innovation.

Abstract

Child protection has become a strategic priority in governance; however, increasing cases of violence against children in Indonesia indicate a persistent gap between policy commitments and implementation outcomes. This study aims to analyze the implementation of child protection policies within a local administrative unit by identifying key factors that influence effectiveness. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis, with data analyzed through the interactive model of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing based on Edward III’s framework. The findings reveal that policy implementation remains suboptimal. Communication is limited in transmission, clarity, and consistency, resulting in low public awareness due to reliance on face-to-face outreach and weak community-based structures. Resource constraints are evident in insufficient personnel, limited technical capacity, inadequate budget allocation, and lack of supporting infrastructure. Despite these limitations, implementers demonstrate strong commitment, although this is insufficient to overcome systemic barriers. Bureaucratic structures provide formal procedures, yet coordination remains fragmented and uneven across sectors. These results indicate that ineffective integration among communication, resources, and institutional coordination constrains policy outcomes. Strengthening implementation requires a systemic approach that enhances communication strategies, increases resource capacity, and reinforces coordinated governance mechanisms to ensure effective child protection.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the management of office facilities maintenance and its role in improving organizational performance efficiency in the Makassar City Public Works Department. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach to explore maintenance management practices within a local government context. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis, and further analyzed using qualitative content analysis and InfraNodus-based keyword network mapping. The findings indicate that maintenance management remains predominantly operational and reactive, with strong reliance on corrective actions rather than preventive strategies. Results show that maintenance practices are largely driven by public service demands and urban operational pressures, while strategic dimensions such as capacity building, performance competence, and systematic planning receive limited attention. The study highlights a structural gap between maintenance practices and organizational performance frameworks. Findings suggest that integrating maintenance management into strategic planning and adopting data-driven approaches are essential to enhance efficiency. Practically, this means that local government institutions need to strengthen preventive maintenance systems, improve coordination mechanisms, and utilize digital tools for monitoring and planning. This study is among the first to apply keyword network analysis to examine maintenance management discourse in a local government context, offering a novel perspective on linking maintenance practices with organizational performance efficiency.
