Abstract

Background: Occupational health is an important health element to pay attention to to build safe conditions at work. From national data, there was an increase in the incidence of work accidents by 35.6%. This data is different from global data which shows a 25% increase in the number of work accidents. One of the influencing factors is the commitment of the management. Hospitals as specialized bodies have a more complex risk in work accidents. Therefore, research is needed that shows the commitment of management in the implementation of the occupational safety and health management system. Objective: This study aims to analyze the commitment of hospital management in the implementation of SMK3 at Cileungsi Hospital Methods: This study is a qualitative research with triagnomy data collection techniques that are combined with interviews, observations and documentation studies. The research sample is eleven people who are workers from Cileungsi Hospital from several professions. Results: The results of this study show that the implementation of SMK3 at Cileungsi Hospital has not been fully implemented, even though the commitment of the Hospital Management has been seen with clear and documented guidelines, work programs and reports. However, the implementation has not been maximized due to the lack of socialization about SMK3, uneven training and lack of regular evaluation. Conclusion: The commitment of good hospital management needs to be supported by the implementation of good SMK3 to reduce the number of work accidents.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a growth disorder caused by poor nutrition, repeated infections, and lack of psychosocial encouragement resulting in less than ideal height. According to WHO (2022), Indonesia is the country in South-East Asia with the highest prevalence of 31.0%. The highest stunting cases in Sleman Regency in 2022 were in the Pakem Community Health Center working area at 25.5% per 1000 children under five. Mothers' knowledge and attitudes influence the prevention of stunting, but Pakem Community Health Center has never measured these two things. Health promotion media for preventing stunting by Community Health Centers is still limited in the form of leaflets which only contain material about nutrition for children aged 0 - 24 months, while the pocket book in this study contains nutrition for babies, breastfeeding mothers, and pregnant women. Objective: This research is to determine the effect of pocket book media on increasing mothers' knowledge and attitudes to prevent stunting in the Pakem Sleman Health Center working area. Method: Quasi Experiment research design employed a one group pretest-posttest design with a post-test interval of 7 days from the end of the intervention. The sample consisted of 98 mothers who had children obtained by cluster sampling. The tools used were a pocket book with the title "Healthy Indonesia Free of Stunting" and a questionnaire. Results: There was an increase in the average knowledge and attitudes of mothers after being given intervention with pocket book media, namely the average knowledge from 12.95 to 14.01; and the average attitude from 92.24 to 95.88, as well as the number of mothers who experienced an increase in knowledge, namely 51 mothers to 55 mothers and attitudes, namely 67 mothers to 71 mothers. The Wilcoxon test results obtained sig. <0.001 on mother's knowledge and attitudes. Conclusion: The pocket book media is effective in increasing mothers' knowledge and attitude.

Abstract

Introduction: Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) costs are crucial for implementing safety management systems in the construction sector, particularly in Indonesia. Previous studies emphasize the potential benefits of effective OHS cost planning in reducing workplace accidents and associated costs. Objective: This study aims to analyze the allocation of OHS costs and its correlation with workplace accidents across various construction projects in Indonesia. Method: A descriptive analysis approach was employed to examine OHS cost allocation and incident rates in ten construction projects conducted by a state-owned company across multiple regions in Indonesia. Data analysis utilized Microsoft Excel and SPSS, with Pearson correlation tests conducted to assess relationships between variables. Result: The study found significant variation in OHS cost allocation, ranging from 0.20% to 1.23% of project value across different projects. Larger projects tended to allocate a lower percentage of their budget to OHS compared to smaller ones. Conclusion: Effective planning of OHS costs is essential not only in terms of percentage allocation but also considering project size, duration, workforce size, and technological aspects. The study underscores the importance of comprehensive cost-benefit analyses to further understand the impact of OHS provision on accident prevention in construction projects.
