Abstract

An effort to reduce dependence on wheat flour is to use wheat flour made from local commodities. Koro bean flour can be used in making milk pies because it has a high nutritional content so that it can support community nutrition, and has a high economic value. The research method used is pure experiment. Organoleptic test data were analyzed using the K-Independent sample test (Kruskall-Wallis). If there is a difference, continue with Mann Whitney. The nutritional content data were analyzed using the Anova test while the Unit Cost data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the organoleptic test showed that there was a significant difference in the level of preference for the color, aroma, taste, and texture of the milk pie with the substitution of Jack bean flour. The results of the nutritional content test showed that the higher the substitution of koro bean flour, the higher the protein content. The result of unit cost analysis shows that the more substitutions of Jack bean flour, the higher the unit cost. The substitution of Jack Bean flour affects the organoleptic properties (color, aroma, taste, and texture), protein content of milk pie, and unit cost of milk pie. However, it has no effect on the energy, fat, and carbohydrate content of milk pie.

Abstract

Hyperemesis gravidarum is a determinant of LBW occurrence of 4,821. The prevalence of emesis gravidarum is more than 80% of pregnant women in Indonesia. Nausea and vomiting can be treated non-pharmacologically. Determine the effectiveness of the Pericardium (PC) 6-point massage on the reduction of emesis in the first trimester of pregnant women. This study was quantitative research, experimental design approach with two-group design with pre posttest design. The population of pregnant women in the first trimester is 49. The sample in this study was 34 respondents who were pregnant in the first trimester using a randomization control trial technique. The PC6 group was given 2x massages at the pericardium 6 points for 1-3 minutes and the ginger group was given 2.5 g of ginger drink with 250 ml hot water, drunk 2x1 for 7 days. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk test, the number of ratings obtained normal results data processing with paired T-test. That was mean decrease was 3.706 in the PC6 massage, while the mean decrease was 0.882 in the ginger. There was a difference in the decrease in emesis frequency in the calculation of the difference between the experimental group and the control group (p-value = 0.000 <0.005). There is the effectiveness of the Pericardium Point (PC) 6 massage on the reduction of emesis in first-trimester pregnant women.

Abstract

Nutrition problem in visually impaired children is similar with normal kid. The problem is caused by lack of knowledge and low application of balance nutrition in everyday life. Therefore, it’s important to educate visually impaired children on nutrition education with media that suit their characteristics. To investigate the effectiveness of nutrition education using the nutrition Braille book toward knowledge of visually impaired children. This research was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest without control group design, conducted in SLB A YKAB Solo and SLB A ‘Aisyiyah Ponorogo. The intervention was education using the nutrition Braille book. Subjects were elementary students aged 9-13 years in SLB A YKAB Solo and SLB A ‘Aisyiyah Ponorogo with a total respondent of 14 students. Knowledge is measured using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed by paired sample t-test. Based on paired sample t-test output, the results show that there are significant differences in mean scores before and after nutritional education (p=0.000) with an increased rate of 47.7%. Nutritional education using the nutrition Braille book can increase knowledge of balanced nutrition in elementary students with visual impairment.

Abstract

Prevention and control of anemia can be started by increasing knowledge and attitudes through various programs, one of which is the development of communication, information, and education (IEC) media. This research to determine the differences in the effectiveness of anemia booklets and leaflets on increasing knowledge about anemia and attitudes in consuming iron tablets in pregnant women. This study was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. Data were collected in March 2020 at the Tempel I Health Center and Kalasan Health Center, Sleman Regency, DIY. Subjects were selected purposively. The booklet intervention group was the Tempel I Public Health Centre and the control group/leaflet intervention group was the Kalasan Public Health Centre with 32 subjects each. Data was collected through a google form after obtaining ethics approval. Data were analyzed by Mann-Whitney Test. Booklet intervention increased the mother's knowledge by 3.1 while leaflet by 2.4 there was no significant difference. Intervention with booklet increased mother's attitude about Fe adherence by 4.7 and leaflet by 1 and there was a significant difference (0.002). Booklets are more effective to increase the knowledge about anemia and the attitude of consuming iron tablets in pregnant women than leaflets.

Abstract

Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) in the form of a ventilated cupboard using a combination of High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration system, laminar airflow, and containment to protect laboratory, product, and the environment from harmful biological agents. This research aims to determine the effect of level 1 BSC created to decrease the number of air germs in the laboratory. This study was an observational analytic using a cohort design. The research object is the number of air germs in standard Level 1 BSC Safe-tech ES 199 models and level 1 BSC created from a team in the laboratory. Data analysis using one-way ANOVA and independent t-test. One-way ANOVA test data shows the standard level 1 BSC Safe-tech ES 199 models and the creation of level 1 BSC used in 60 minutes and 90 minutes is the same as significant (p>0.05), while the duration of use for 120 minutes has a significant difference (p<0.05). Independent t-test analysis showed Sig (2-tailed) = 0.577, so there were no differences between the two tools during the 120-minute use. The creation of level 1 BSC can reduce the number of air germs.
