Abstract

This studi examined the behavioral intention of sustainable waste management inelementary school student using the framework of Theory of Planned Behavior. The objectiveof this study was to know the relationship of knowledge, attitude, and the behavioral intentionof sustainable waste management. Population and sample in this study were elementaryschool students in the Padang City, West Sumatra. The data collected for this study wereanalyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of this study stated that theknowledge about sustainable waste management has a significant relationship with attitudestowards sustainable waste management. Knowledge and attitudes towards sustainable wastemanagement had a significant association with the behavioral intention of sustainable wastemanagement. These findings have important implications for the school as well as for policymakers.

Abstract

Palm oil mill effluent contains pollutants and has high content of organic matter. The treatment process of palm oil mill effluent generally with open pond system that requires extensive land and a long contact time. To reduce the number of ponds needed in the process of palm oil mill effluent, microalgae Chlorella sp. by using palm mill effluent which contains organic material as a source of nutrition for microalgae cultivation media Chlorella sp. to improve the efficiency of COD removal in palm oil mill effluent. In this research, variations of the concentration of Fe and Co micronutrients were combined with variations concentrations of Fe (0.3; 0.5 and 0.7) mg/L and Co (1 and 2) mg/L in flat-photobioreactors were carried out for 7 days with lighting by using sunlight. The results showed that at a combination of 0.5 mg/L Fe + 0.2 mg/L Co, the highest microalgae cell growth was 6 x 106 cell/ml and the highest removal efficiency of COD was 83.3%.

Abstract

Methane emissions of agriculture sector in Indonesia from year to year increase. To reduce the rate of methane emissions increase, the Indonesian government in 2012 through the Ministry of Environment launched the Kampung Iklim program. One of the villages included in Kampung Iklim Program is Mukti Jaya Village, Rimba Melintang Sub-district, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. This research aims to analyze methane emission model of agriculture. The research was conducted through survey by field research method. Research location in Mukti Village Rimba Melintang District Rokan Hilir Regency Riau Province. The value of methane rice land emissions in Mukti Jaya Village from 2011-2015 has increased due to changes in some methane producing parameters. The use of Cisadane varieties produced the highest methane emissions compared to the Ciherang and Dodokan varieties of 0.00029 Gg CH4/year/ ha.

Abstract

This research was conducted in December 2016 at Kabaena Island, Bombana Southeast Sulawesi which refers to data taken in August 2016. The aim the research is to provide an overview and information on the physical-chemical conditions of Kabaena waters. The method used in this study is a survey and determining the point of sampling by purposive sampling. Sampling physical-chemical parameters of waters us done at a distance of 500 meters from the beach towards the sea and the sample was measured in situ. Physical-chemical parameters were observed i.e. depth, brightness, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, salinity, acidity (pH), temperature, and flow. The results of show that physical-chemical parameters measured were 3-41 meters depth, water temperature ranged from 27oC – 32oC, salinity obtained in waters between 31‰ - 34‰, brightness values waters between 3 meters to 13 meters, the value of the degree of acidity 8, 24, dissolved oxygen concentration from 3.81 to 4.43 mg/l or 5.44 to 6.33 mg/l, turbidity levels are high at 0.97 NTU, and the velocity of 0.04 m/sec to 0, 62 m/sec with an average value of 0.19 m/sec. 3.2. Based on the research results physical-chemical parameters of the waters of Kabaena by comparison with Kepmen LH 2004, the condition of physical-chemical parameters of waters Kabaena still quite good to support the continuity of the life of the organism.

Abstract

The research was conducted in July - October 2020. Collection of data A. alba growth and abundance of benthic epifauna was carried out in the mangrove rehabilitated area of Kedabupat village, Kepulauan Meranti Regency. The aims of this study was to analyze the growth (stems height and diameter) of the mangrove A. alba species as a result of rehabilitation and abundance of benthic epifauna in the area. The method used in this research was a survey method, where data was obtained by directly to the research location. The data collected was data on the height and diameter of A. alba stems, density of macro epifauna species, and  water quality in the field, then followed by analysis of water and sediment samples in the laboratory. The results showed that the average increace in height of the stem by zone was 6.45-12.93 cm/month, meanwhile the average value of the increase in stem diameter by zone is 1.53-1.85 mm/month. There were 13 epifauna benthic species from 2 classes namely Gastropod and Malacostraca from mangrove rehabilitation. Gastropod class  that was Littoraria melanostoma, Nerita balteata and Sphaerassiminea miniata; from the malacostraca class that was Uca coarctata,  Metopograpsus latifrons, Ceonobita cavipes, and Clibanarius longitarsus. Benthic epifauna abundance values average ranged from 31.33-52.22 ind/m2.

Abstract

A study was conducted in december 2013 in coastal waters Topang Island RiauProvince, with a view to learn the environmental conditions under the deposition ofoceanography and physics. The method used is a method of surveys carried out at 12 stationswithout repetition and 2 times repetition on calculations of the quality of the waters .Theresults of research shows that bottom sediment surface waters can be grouped into threefaction sediment is sandy mud , muddy sand and sand .Sand faction dominating at anyresearch station with type 2 is sand and muddy sand .Based on the parameter of sediment asthe diameter of average (Mz), sorting ( ), skewness (Sk1) and kurtosis (KG), physicaloceanographic conditions in Western and Eastern parts of the island tend to be stablecompared to the North and South. Current speed of surface affect the distribution of thebottom sediment surface.

Abstract

One of the main factors causing the high rate of pulmonary tuberculosis is occupancy density and socioeconomic. The purpose of this study was to study the relationship of occupancy density and socioeconomic with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Pecung Subdistrict, Balakang Padang District, Batam City (Belakang Padang Community Health Center) in 2019.This study uses a cross-sectional study, the sampling technique uses simple random sampling where the sample is taken 90 samples, primary data is obtained by using questionnaire, data analysis by bivariate using chi-square test (>0.05).The results of this research about the relationship between Occupancy Density with Pulmonary tuberculosis a value of p = 0,000 (pV<0.05), and there is a Socio-Economy relationship with pulmonary tuberculosis disease with a value of p = 0,000 (pV> 0.05. Expected promotion health by community healthcenter For the community to increase awareness of life and a Healthy environment.

Abstract

Construction of the new office building for Public Work Department based on condition of the old building on Riau Street no. 1 Pekanbaru that cannot accommodate official activities, narrow area include with the cause of the traffic jamming in the intersection at Jenderal AhmadYani street.The Government of Riau Province through Public Work Department plans a new modern building office, and becomes the first building in Sumatra that applies green building concept. The aim of the research is to describes perseption from all who mixed up in the project to the application of ISO 14001.2004 and to analizes the application performance during the construction. The primary data is taken by range survey in the project site, the sample is taken by purposive sampling from the owner, consultant, and contractor population. From the research known that 48% respondents clarify the data is formally appropriate and perfectly fullfill the criteria in determine the principals of ISO 14001, while 46% clarify that some of those principals needs to be enhanced and 6% respondents clarify that there is unappropriation in the application. In the process of the building construction, PT. Waskita Karya (Persero) as the contractor has no satisfaction performance inenviromental management system yet, considering that PT. Waskita Karya (Persero) has low performance in some of the principals of ISO 14001.2004.

Abstract

Managing hazardous medical waste in COVID-19 era has its own challenges. Acknowledging such challenges, the provincial Government of West Java suggested every health care facility in West Java to collaborate with PT Jasa Medivest or other companies that provide waste management services. Commonly, they use incinerator machines as their main tools to demolish the hazardous medical waste. Although it is a commonly used method to demolish medical waste, there are several issues that need to be marked. Therefore, this study aims to observe and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the suggestion made by the Provincial Government from the perspective of environmental and economic sustainability. This study also proposes several alternative methods to overcome the problems by reflecting on methods that other countries had successfully conducted. This study uses a normative legal research method, in which secondary data are obtained from library research. The data obtained are analyzed and explained using descriptive methods. The results revealed that in the terms of environmental sustainability, the use of incineration method has the potential to perpetuate air pollution. Meanwhile, in terms of financial efficiency, collaborating with PT Jasa Medivest or other companies that provide waste management services incurs a fairly high cost. Hence, it is necessary to evaluate and consider other waste management options.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the correlation between shift work and noise withwork stress of the workers in milling production division of PT . Riau Crumb Rubber Factory.This research is an observational analytic with cross sectional approach. The population ofthis study consists of 125 workers in milling production. With purposive sampling techniqueand using predetermined criteria obtained a total sample of 60 people. The data werecollected using work stress scale and the measurement noise by using a sound level meter andanalyzed with bivariate using the chi square test. The results showed that there was asignificant correlation between work shifts with work stress with p value (0.000) < α ( 0.05 ).Employees who work on the night shift tend to have a high work stress when compared withemployees working on the morning shift and afternoon . There is a significant correlationbetween the level of noise with work stress with p value (0.000) < α ( 0.05 ). The higher thenoise level the higher work stress.
