Abstract

Telang (Clitoria ternatea) has long been used as a traditional medicine for the cure of various diseases. Commonly used parts of Clitoria ternatea are flowers and leaves. The leaves of telang flowers contain flavonoids, flavanol glycosides, kaempferol glycosides, quercetin glycosides and glycoside mirisetin.Telang leaves (Clitoria ternatea L.) contain flavonoid compounds that can act as antioxidants by donating hydrogen so as to stabilize electron deficiency in free radicals. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of telang leaf extract by looking at the IC50 value. Telang leaves were extracted by the maceration method using ethanol solvent. The antioxidant activity test was determined by the DPPH method (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) with a vitamin C comparator that has been proven to have a very effective free radical potential. The results showed that the IC50 value of telang leaf extract was 1175 μg / mL, based on this value telang leaf extract is included in the very weak category so that it can be developed as one of the sources antioxidants from natural ingredients.

The control sample was taken by matching sampling which took samples of gender and age. Data analysis was univariate and bivariate using chi square test using SPSS program. The results of bivariate analysis showed that the factor associated with the incidence of stroke was hypertension (OR= 5.74; 95% CI: 2.15 – 15.2). Meanwhile, factors that are not related to the incidence of stroke are age, gender, history of diabetes mellitus, obesity, and smoking.

Abstract

Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV-2) has been worrying the world since its first appearance. Although the absolute risk for maternal morbidity and mortality is low, pregnancy remains a risk factor for hospitalization, ICU admission, and COVID-19-related extracorporeal membrane oxygenation requirements compared to nonpregnancy. Protection of pregnant women from SARS-CoV-2 infection is very important to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. Vaccination is the most promising method to control the spread of COVID-19. This descriptive study aims to determine the description of pregnant women who are vaccinated against covid-19, with the population who perform pregnancy checks at the Gayaman Health Center, Data collection was carried out in April 2022, using a questionnaire that was given directly to respondents and still complied with health protocols. Sampling by total sampling where 36 pregnant women were obtained who did prenatal check-ups and completed the questionnaire. The results of the study Most of the respondents had received the covid-19 vaccine, namely 31 respondents (86.11%). Health workers still have to provide information regarding the importance of covid-19 vaccination for pregnant women so that the coverage of COVID-19 vaccination for pregnant women can be increased.

The data was then processed and analyzed using the rank spearman test. The result suggested that, though there is no relationship between gender and the recurrence of the disease, the dietary and sleeping habits of the patients showed strong relation to the disease’s recurrence with a p-value of 0,283 > α 0,05 for gender, p-value 0,005 < α 0,05 for dietary habit, and p-value 0,005 < α 0,05 for sleeping habit. Periodical counseling and special attention by public health services were needed to approach the complexity of the factors that triggered the disease recurrence.
