Abstract

Customer Customer satisfaction has become a crucial concern for many organizations, as it directly influences the sustainability and success of the business. Similarly, in the educational context, student satisfaction plays a vital role in determining a school’s reputation, competitiveness, and long-term development. Schools are expected to provide high-quality educational services and effective leadership to ensure that students’ academic and personal needs are met. This study aims to examine the influence of educational service quality and the school principal’s leadership on students’ satisfaction. The research was conducted at XYZ Christian High School in Bogor, involving 135 students as respondents. Using a quantitative approach, the data were analyzed with the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method supported by the PASW software. The findings reveal that students’ perceptions of educational service quality and principal leadership have a significant positive effect on their satisfaction. Furthermore, the study also found that the principal’s leadership positively influences students’ perceptions of educational service quality. These results suggest that effective school leadership contributes not only to better service quality but also to higher student satisfaction, which is essential for maintaining the school’s overall performance and competitive advantage.

Abstract

Chemistry learning at the senior high school level involves abstract concepts that require higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), particularly in complex topics such as isomerism. Previous studies have shown that students often experience difficulties in mastering this material, as indicated by learning outcomes that have not yet reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). To further investigate this issue, an additional assessment was conducted in the form of a cognitive test. This study aims to determine the average cognitive learning outcomes of students on the topic of isomerism and to analyze the effect of higher-order thinking skills on these outcomes. A quantitative research design was employed using a test instrument consisting of ten multiple-choice questions administered to 36 twelfth-grade students at SMA ABC Tangerang. The validity and reliability of the instrument were examined through correlation analysis and Cronbach’s alpha, confirming that the test items were valid and reliable. Data were analyzed using normality tests, mean comparison tests, and simple linear regression. The findings indicated that the average cognitive learning outcome exceeded the KKM score of 60, as demonstrated by tH (2.76) > tT (1.69), with normally distributed data. Moreover, the regression results showed a significant influence of HOTS on students’ learning outcomes, as evidenced by Fcal (53.68) > Ftable (4.15). Overall, the study concludes that higher-order thinking skills play a crucial role in students’ success in understanding isomerism, highlighting the importance of instructional strategies.

Abstract

Principal leadership plays a crucial role in shaping a school's work culture. However, there are not many studies describing how servant leadership practices are implemented by a Christian school principal. This study aims to provide a comprehensive description of servant leadership practices implemented by the principal of Kr. Gloria Pakuwon City Junior High School. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with a semi-structured face-to-face interview method and content analysis techniques to identify servant leadership characteristics that emerge in daily interactions. The results show that the principal consistently practices key characteristics of servant leadership such as humility, moral responsibility, empowerment and development of followers, wisdom in decision-making, and building a supportive and collaborative community. This study provides insight into how servant leadership can be implemented in the context of Christian schools and how principals can create a supportive and collaborative work climate and culture.

Abstract

Character education is an important aspect in shaping students' behavior and morals. This study aims to evaluate the application of B.F. Skinner's behaviorism theory in character education and analyze its influence on improving students' morals and ethics at XYZ High School. This study used a survey method with a quantitative approach to collect data from 34 students (55.74% of the population of 61 students) at XYZ High School Gading Serpong. The research instrument was a questionnaire with 15 statements measuring five character indicators: religiosity, nationalism, independence, mutual cooperation, and integrity, using a Likert scale of 1-5. Data were analyzed using a validity test (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.82), a normality test (p-value = 0.38), and a regression test. The results showed that the five character indicators had a positive and significant influence (F-count = 51.54 > F-table = 2.934) on students' character formation, with an average character index of 60% (high category). These findings indicate that the application of Skinner's operant conditioning theory through conditioning the school environment and forming repetitive habits has proven effective in improving students' morals and ethics. This study recommends the development of behaviorism-based character education, taking into account the challenges of the digital era and the influence of social media.

This qualitative phenomenological study explores the lived experiences of teachers and staff regarding spiritual formation in a Christian school and how these experiences shape work meaning and job satisfaction. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with five participants and analysed using phenomenological interpretation. The findings reveal that spiritual formation transforms work into a meaningful calling, strengthens resilience in facing professional challenges, fosters supportive communal relationships, and contributes to job satisfaction beyond material rewards. The study concludes that spiritual formation functions as a foundational experiential process that integrates spirituality, resilience, and job satisfaction within the context of Christian education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between teacher educational background and the level of job satisfaction of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) teachers, as well as to compare the level of job satisfaction between teachers with linear and non-linear educational backgrounds. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational and comparative design. The research subjects consisted of twenty PAUD teachers at Kindergarten X and Kindergarten Y Jakarta. Data were collected using the Teacher Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (TJSQ) which covers four factors of job satisfaction, namely individual factors, work environment, work, and outside of school. The results of the analysis showed that correlationally there was no significant relationship between educational background and job satisfaction of PAUD teachers. However, the results of the comparative analysis revealed a significant difference in the level of job satisfaction between teachers with linear educational backgrounds (bachelor of education) and teachers with non-linear backgrounds, where teachers with linear educational backgrounds showed a higher level of job satisfaction. This finding indicates that educational background does not function as a direct predictor of job satisfaction correlationally, but plays a role in differentiating the level of job satisfaction between groups of teachers. This research provides an empirical contribution in enriching the study of job satisfaction of PAUD teachers by emphasizing the importance of differentiating correlational and comparative analysis approaches in interpreting the influence of educational background, as well as being the basis for consideration in developing recruitment policies and professional development of PAUD teachers.

Abstract

The competition among private schools is currently becoming increasingly competitive and attractive from year to year. The number of students in a school serves as one of the indicators reflecting the development and sustainability of that school. As competition intensifies, many educational institutions need to understand the importance of creating and building parental loyalty as a competitive strategy that provides long-term advantages. Parental loyalty can benefit schools by ensuring that parents continue to entrust their children’s education to the same institution and by providing referrals for new students. This study aims to further investigate and evaluate the influence of relationship quality, push factors, and pull motivation factors on the satisfaction and loyalty of parents while entrusting their children’s education to sekolah XYZ Bogor School. The sample in this study was determined using a census method, involving 88 parent/guardian respondents of seventh- to tenth-grade students who had been enrolled for at least one year at sekolah XYZ Bogor School. The results indicate that the variables of relationship quality, push factors, and pull motivation factors affect parental satisfaction and loyalty. This is shown by the coefficient of determination (R²) results, where parental satisfaction is explained by 0.551 or 55.1%, while parental loyalty is explained by 0.754 or 75.4%, with the remaining 24.6% influenced by other variables outside the scope of this study.
