Abstract

This research investigated the impact of leadership based on Christian values associated with leadership ethics and the connection between the ethics in leadership and teacher’s self-efficacy and organizational commitment. The research used the qualitative research method with phenomenology as the method. Data collection techniques were conducted by using interviews, observations, and documentation. The validity of the data was tested using triangulation. The research findings explained that the ethics of Christian leadership applied by the principal of SD XYZ through her working performance, provided an inspiration for the teachers to build high self-efficacy and created a community based on Christian values, which was love, with the result that the community became a comfortable working place to be committed to.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic situation, one of the most affected sectors is education. Distance learning become the only possible way to execute the learning process for both formal and nonformal education institutes. The principal is the key to success of the progress and continuity of their organization. By being able to identify the problems that the organization is facing, the principal is responsible for formulating strategic steps and then implement those steps. The role of the principal really matters. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the role of the principal in implementing the strategic management during online learning. This is an evaluative study using qualitative research method. The data is collected through deep interviews with the source person and continuous observation done by the writer. In this research, the writer concludes that the role of the principal at PKBM XYZ is important. She and her team have implemented the strategic steps that they formulated together. Therefore, the online learning process may run effectively and efficient for the students. Nevertheless, by implementing those strategic steps, she has created a comfortable work situation for the staff. The obstacles occurred during the implementation process are basically technical issues and can be solved. The evaluation result from this implementation conclude that the principal will keep putting her best effort to maximize her role as leader.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the positive effect of job satisfaction and transformational leadership to work motivation and job satisfaction, transformational leadership, and work motivation on teachers’ performance. Research was conducted at Saint John’s Primary School Meruya, West Jakarta, involving the whole 36 teachers as respondents. The method used is quantitative research. Analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis using path analysis tool. A structured questionnaire with Likert-type scale was used to collect data from the respondents. Data proccessed with Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Path coefficient shows that job satisfaction and transformational leadership have positive effect to job motivation. This study also shows that job satisfaction, transformational leadership and work motivation have positive effect to teachers’ performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of work motivation, principal supervision and job satisfaction on teachers' organization commitment in Secondary XYZ School North Jakarta. The data collection in this study is done using a questionnaire to all teachers. The number of respondents is 53 people. The method used in this research was quantitative research by using path analysis method. This study is using Smart PLS program to evaluate the outer model and inner model. The results showed that work motivation gives positive influence to job satisfaction (0,349) as well as principal supervision with a positive influence to job satisfaction (0,631). Work motivation (0,442) and principal supervision (0,336) have a positive influence on organizational commitment. Job satisfaction has an effect on organizational commitment despite small influence (0,013) but it still creates a positive influence.

Abstract

Sudden changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic have created new problems in the implementation of teaching that can cause teachers to experience stress with physical, psychological, and behavioral symptoms. This case study explores the theme of stress management by teachers of SMP XYZ in Tangerang. The method used is a qualitative approach with observation, collecting data using a questionnaire to ten teachers to determine the appropriate research subjects, and conducting in-depth interviews with two teachers to explore and describe what makes them have different stress levels even though they are in the same organization. The results of the study can be concluded that the challenge of managing stress faced by teachers is the gap between their competencies and the demands of work according to the existing context, such as time management and class management. Their efforts are coping strategies by taking time off, changing mindsets, and increasing competence.

Abstract

Teachers are key in the formal education system. The school as an organization ideally has high committed members, thus avoiding turnover, since the effect of turnover is harmful to the school existence and the students also. This research aims to determine the effect of quality of work life, job stress, and job satisfaction on organizational commitment of the teachers in XYZ Elementary School.  The research using closed questionnaire with Likert scale and the research subjects were 42 teachers. The design used in this study was SEM-PLS with outer model and inner model. The result showed that quality of work life has positive influence to organizational commitment, job stress influenced positively to organizational commitment, and job satisfaction has positive influence to organizational commitment. The research also found that quality of work life has positive influence to job satisfaction, while job stress influenced positively to job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of psychological empowerment, emotional intelligence, and organizational citizenship behavior on knowledge sharing in educators and education staff at Bina Bangsa School Bandung. The data in this study were obtained from the distribution of questionnaires given to 64 educators and education staff in the school. Further research data were analysed using SEM analysis with Partial Least Square (PLS) technique. The research itself uses a quantitative approach with the path analysis method to find out the coefficient effect of each of the variables. In order to collect the data with the census method using a questionnaire. The issue from the research stated that psychological empowerment, emotional intelligence, and organizational citizenship behavior have a positive effect on knowledge sharing in Bina Bangsa School. Furthermore, psychological empowerment and emotional intelligence have a positive effect on knowledge sharing through organizational citizenship behavior.

Abstract

Some teachers and staffs at Gracia Abadi Tangerang School have been working together to build a school building without receiving a salary. It is so rare today that the researcher became very interested in researching this further while thinking that the leadership of school’s founder has had a positive impact on teachers. This study aims to know: 1) how the school founder applies transformational leadership in school management, 2) what are the impacts and constraints experienced in applying transformational leadership, 3) the impact of transformational leadership on teacher commitment at this school. This study uses qualitative phenomenological methods with data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation, and document review. The validity of the data will be tested with source triangulation. The results of this research indicate that transformational leadership has been shown to have a positive impact on teacher commitment in Gracia Abadi School.

Abstract

Teacher performance is one of the most important things that shows that the learning process is running well. The learning process is the way to achieve the learning goals and foundation’s goals. Teacher performance can be affected by several things, such as interpersonal communication, job compensation, and job motivation. Therefore, this research is going to find out the impact of interpersonal communication, job compensation, job motivation towards teachers’ performances. This research used the quantitative approach and path analysis method. The subjects of this research were 30 teachers of SDS Saint Peter Kelapa Gading. The data were collected from  4 March 2016 until 11 March 2016. The data were processed by the SmartPLS software to try out the research instrument and hypothesis. Based on the data processing, there are five findings show that (1) interpersonal communication has a positive impact in teachers performances, (2) job compensation has a positive impact on teachers performances, (3) interpersonal communication has a positive impact on job motivation, (4) compensation has a positive impact on job motivation, (5) job motivation has a positive impact on teachers performances. In this research, interpersonal communication is strongly influenced toward the teachers’ performances.

Abstract

Good leadership is leadership that is able to create a smooth implementation of organizational programs and realize organizational goals effectively and efficiently. This study aims to determine the effect of transformational leadership and work motivation on teacher performance at SDI Al Kautsar Tangerang City during academic year 2017/2018. This research is a survey with a quantitative approach. The subject of the research is the teacher while the object of research is the leadership performance and the performance of the principal management of SDI Al Kautsar Tangerang City. The sampling technique used in this study is population. The data collection technique used by the researchers is the method of Questionnaire. The assumption test is Smart-PLS. Hypothesis test using Smart-PLS analysis.
