Abstract

This research explores the key role internal audit plays in mitigating fraud risk. We revealed that internal audit actively examines financial transactions, evaluates internal control procedures, and identifies potential fraud risks. With internal audit's strong competence and team structure, they are at the forefront of protecting banks from fraud risk. Risk evaluation is an essential step in fraud prevention, and this research highlights how internal audit continuously conducts risk evaluations to identify the most vulnerable areas. A fast and effective fraud detection process is also emphasized in this study, where Bank Bengkulu's internal audit has built sophisticated audit tools and techniques to detect suspicious patterns in real-time. While internal audit plays a crucial role in fraud prevention, the research also identified several obstacles and challenges internal audit teams face. In particular, technological developments and increasingly sophisticated fraud demand proactive measures and investment in resources, education, and training. This research confirms that the internal audit at Bengkulu Bank significantly contributes to maintaining the integrity and stability of the bank's operations. In the face of increasingly complex fraud threats, constant efforts in developing internal audit capabilities are essential to protect banks from fraud risks.

Abstract

This research explores how inflation, exchange rates and interest rates impacted the Jakarta Composite Index between 2016 and 2022. It also aims to determine the changes in the impact of exchange rates, inflation and interest rates on the Index before and after the implementation of government policies. Key policies examined include the enforcement of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in April 2020 due to the pandemic of covid 19, and a reduction of the BI7DRR interest rate by 25 basis points in October 2019. The study employs a quantitative experimental hypothesis and gathers data from www.bps.go.id, www.bi.go.id, and www.kemendag.go.id. Using purposive sampling for analysis, and SPSS version 26 for data processing, the study reveals that in the absence of government intervention, exchange rates, interest rates, and inflation significantly influence the Jakarta Composite Index. Specifically, while this exchange rate positively affects the Index, interest rates have a negative impact, and inflation also contributes positively. Conversely, following the PSBB policy in April 2019, both the exchange rate and interest rates negatively affected the Index, with exchange rate showing a significant negative impact, interest rate continuing to affect negatively, and inflation still having a positive influence.

Abstract

This article discusses the concepts and practices of environmentally friendly accounting and their impact on environmental sustainability and sustainable business value. The concept of sustainability in business and environmental challenges in the Indonesian context is the main focus. Green accounting practices include reducing carbon emissions, efficient use of natural resources, and better management of industrial waste. Positive impacts include reduced carbon emissions, more efficient use of natural resources and better waste management. Companies that adopt this practice gain benefits in the form of improved reputation, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage. The article also notes that green accounting practices are not a one-size-fits-all approach to companies and must be adapted to each context. With technological developments, increasingly stringent regulations, and public awareness of environmental issues, green accounting practices will remain an integral part of sustainable business strategies in the future.

Abstract

This comparative analysis examines the development and value orientations of colleges of education and universities in Ghana, with implications for teacher education. The study provides a historical overview of the evolution of these institutions in Ghana, exploring the different periods in which they emerged and their associated value orientations. It addresses the core question of how teacher education can achieve excellence comparable to universities while retaining the relevant values of colleges of education in the context of a knowledge society. By conducting a comparative historical analysis of some Western societies, the study identifies four distinct models of teacher education that have historically emerged and evaluates them comparatively. Finally, the research compares teacher education in Singapore and Ghana, suggesting that a university of education model may be uniquely suitable for the Ghanaian context and culturally viable in an African environment.
