Abstract

Risk and volatility are two related factors in research regarding capital markets. Many factors influence the movement of shares and indices. Volatility is common and affects risk assessment. Stock price volatility is an important aspect of understanding market behavior, with high volatility reflecting rapid and unstable price fluctuations. This research investigates the GARCH model in assessing volatility on the IBM Stock Exchange. The method employed was the symmetric GARCH model. It focuses on univariate analysis using the GARCH econometric model. The GARCH model allows modeling stock price variance over time based on the assumption that the variance was influenced by past stock price variance. The stages of this research were (1) data collection, (2) data pre-processing, and (3) forecasting model implementation. The best model obtained was ARMA(4,2)-GARCH(5,6) with an AIC value of 4.1017. A lower AIC value indicates that the model explains the data better or more optimally. A diagnostic test found that the model was adequate because the residual distribution followed a straight line, which means it was normally distributed.

Abstract

This study presents the phase control and polarization of electromagnetic waves emitted in quasiperiodic crystals such as Fibonacci, T-M, DP, and RS and the periodic structure of a photonic crystal consisting of fullerene and tellurium nanoscales in near-infrared -visible wavelengths. By examining the arrangement of layers in quasi-periodic crystals, which, like periodic structures, possess band gaps that impede the transmission of electromagnetic waves, we can determine the specific region where the photonic band gap (PBG) is formed for both transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) polarization waves. Subsequently, after examining the transmitted light that passed through our structure, we have identified the band gap of different structures. Also, we have plotted the phase changes in the center and edges of the band gap. After taking into account the magnitude of the electric field and the phase difference, it becomes evident that when elliptically polarized light is transmitted, a tilt angle is seen corresponding to the angle of polarization. The paper used the renowned transfer matrix approach. According to our research, the suggested design enables the creation of very condensed phase controllers, such as phase retarders and polarizers.

Abstract

Automation of software-defined networking (SDN) in Proxmox VE 8.1 enhances virtual network management by improving efficiency, scalability, and the speed of network configuration changes. This study aims to automate SDN configuration management in Proxmox VE using Ansible and evaluate its performance. The research follows the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) method, consisting of six stages: Analysis, Design, Simulation Prototyping, Implementation, Monitoring, and Management. Automation was implemented successfully using an Ansible playbook to manage creating and deleting zones, VNets, subnets, IP gateways, and DHCP ranges. The automated process was tested over three trials, with creation times of 23, 20, and 21 seconds and deletion times of 20, 19, and 20 seconds, respectively. By contrast, the manual process required 6 minutes 6 seconds for creation and 2 minutes 37 seconds for deletion. These results demonstrate that automation using Ansible significantly reduces configuration time, offering a more efficient and reliable approach than manual methods. The findings highlight the potential of Ansible to streamline SDN management in Proxmox VE, saving time, energy, and resources while ensuring scalability and consistency in virtualized network environments.

Abstract

Over the past two decades, one of the most common reproductive problems has been infertility. Infertility is a disease of the reproductive system characterized by the inability to conceive after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the reproductive rate has declined drastically, with male infertility now accounting for 36 percent of cases, often due to abnormalities in sperm production. Currently, infertility screening is still done manually, evaluating sperm samples using a microscope, which often produces inconsistent results. However, advances in computer technology have resulted in significant research aimed at improving the analysis of male sperm infertility. This study utilized deep learning technology to identify sperm using the YOLOv5 method. This study involved several stages with data collection using 1330 photos with 2 classes, namely sperm and non-sperm in video format. The second stage involved preprocessing the dataset, which included data extraction, cropping, resizing, and labeling the data for training. The final stage involved testing the trained model to detect and classify sperm based on morphology. The experimental results show that the proposed method is effective in accurately classifying sperm images and analyzing motion videos from recorded video data with a mAP result of 73.1 percent. Therefore, in the context of this study, the YOLOv5 model is considered efficient in detecting and classifying objects, both sperm and non-sperm.

Abstract

The PID controller's optimized tuning improves the control system's functionality. This work presented the tuning of the PID/FOPID controller by the conventional Ziegler-Nichols (ZN) method and the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. The PID controller is the most popular in the industry because it is simple to implement, has good computing ability, and provides a robust system. These methods are implemented on the DC servomotor system to optimize the transient responses like rise time (??), settling time (??), and peak overshoot (??) to get a better result. The PID controller tuned by the conventional ZN method gives a longer settling time, a longer rise time, and a higher peak overshoot. The PSO algorithm is utilized to overcome the significant overshoot and considerable settling time obtained in the conventional Ziegler-Nichols method. Analyzing and comparing the MATLAB simulation results, it is observed that PSO algorithms provide a better-optimized response over the ZN method with FOPID controller in respect of less rise time (?? =0.0392 sec.), less settling time (??=0.0605 sec.) and peak overshoot (??=1.92 percent). The results obtained by the proposed controller provide better reliability and better response.
