Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the dynamics of Indonesian Islamic politics that occurred in the 2009 general election (election). Given that since the 1998 reforms were rolled out, it seems to have reopened the pages of history about the flow patterns that were formed in the early days of independence. In contrast to the previous two elections, where the nuances of sectarianism were very strong, in the 2009 elections, every political party began to realize that in the context of a pluralistic society like Indonesia, it would seem odd to only rely on religio-ideological cleavages as icons for mobilizing and maximizing votes. Because by opening up, each party can gain as much support as possible from various entities, races, religions and groups in order to rule this country. And in general, this research aims to see the pattern of political flow that occurred in the 2009 election; a study on changes to the Prosperous Justice Party Platform in the 2009 General Election.

Abstract

The development of Islam has indeed become an integral part of Indonesian history. The debate on the relationship between religion and power has become an interesting discourse among religious observers and academics. If religion is treated as a constructive tool, then by itself religion can be used as a means to control all policies carried out by the authorities. Even during the colonial period, religion was used as a means of carrying out the "Ideology of Jihad" to fight the colonial expansion, even though at first it was only socio-cultural in nature. The goal to be achieved from writing this thesis is to find out how the relationship between religion and the state according to Abdurrahman Wahid. Knowing how Abdurrahman Wahid thought about Pancasila as the basis of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. During the New Order era, Pancasila really has a special place, within the Indonesian nation. In every corner of the country, the name Pancasila always echoes. In schools, in markets, in homes, and especially in government agencies. From big to small, young and old, all must understand Pancasilaism. This was widely advertised in order to create a stigma that the New Order had placed Pancasila as a tool for the political interests of the rulers, to protect the dictatorship's attitude, including "killing" political opponents who were not in line with it.

Abstract

After the fall of the authoritarian New Order and the formation of a new era, namely the era of reformation, a free public space is open to the public by providing a place for the public to express their freedom and autonomy in the form of freedom of the press, freedom of parties, freedom of common sense, freedom of belief, freedom of expression. sense, freedom to defend oneself, freedom to defend community, regional autonomy, independence, and freedom to gather for discussion and dialogue. The role played by the CDCC is to facilitate a free and independent public space for citizens with different religious or cultural backgrounds to speak, discuss and dialogue to discuss religious issues and even state problems in order to criticize and control the government in order to form good governance. In conducting dialogue, the CDCC takes elite segments of society such as religious leaders, government circles, activists and culturalists, not grassroots communities. Even though they take the elite segment, they are not elitist because the meetings (dialogues) held by the CDCC always discuss issues related to the interests of the lower classes who are always excluded from the policies produced by the government. The CDCC is also concerned with dialogues related to religion and belief by always holding meetings between followers of different religions in order to create a pluralist and tolerant society. As a form of implementing the role of the CDCC in efforts to establish a free public space in the life of society and the state, the CDCC conducts a dialogue or discussion.

The National Awakening Party is one of the Islamic political parties in Indonesia which was declared at the Wahid Hasyim Islamic Boarding School in Ciganjur, South Jakarta, was attended by Nahdlatul Ulama kiai, including KH. Munasir Ali, KH. Ilyas Ruchiyat, KH. Abdurrahman Wahid, KH. Mostofa Bisri, and KH. Muhith Muzadi. As a new party, PKB participated in the 1999 general election which got third place after PDIP and Golkar. The laying of the foundation stone for the PKB journey is still rising in Indonesian politics. However, PKB as an Islamic political party experienced various trials and obstacles that began with the conflict spearheaded by Gus Dur and Matori, in his case Matori's presence at the MPR session in the context of Gus Dur's removal from the presidency. So at the same time Gus Dur fired Matori who was considered to have violated the party's rules to participate in the MPR session, the conflict was getting wider so that it reached the court. In this case, PKB was divided into two camps, namely the Batutulis camp led by Matori and the Kuningan PKB led by Gus Dur. However, in the decision of the trial court, Gus Dur's camp won the case. Until he participated in the 2004 general election, he did not experience any problems. Furthermore, in the United Indonesia Cabinet (KIB) under the leadership of Susilo Bambang Yudoyono and Jusuf Kalla, they chose Alwi and Saefullah Yusuf as ministers, and this resulted in both being fired from the party management because they were deemed to have violated party rules. So that this case also went to court because Alwi and Saefullah did not accept Gus Dur's decision. Abstract

Community development is one of the methods of social work where the locus and main goal is to improve the quality of people's living standards by utilizing the potential or resources they carry. While the pesantren which is identical with the ideal place to seek or explore the religious sciences is also part of one of the active institutions and has the potential to be used as the basis or driving force for the change agenda, in pesantren, of course, not only religious sciences are taught but also as well as social sciences that are directly related to their lives. Abstract

The Laberal Islamic Network is an interesting phenomenon in Indonesia, because it is considered to break the establishment and slow thinking. This is understandable because the average JIL activist has a traditional Islamic background, which is oriented towards ubudiyah issues and dogmatic traditions, which practically must be followed without discussion, even though these rules are often irrelevant to the liberation of Muslims from poverty, ignorance or oppression. Liberal Islam is a particular form of interpretation of Islam with several foundations including, opening the door to ijtihad on all dimensions of Islam, they believe that ijtihad is the main principle for interpreting everything. Closing the door of ijtihad, either in a limited way or in its entirety, is a threat to Islam itself, because then Islam will experience decay. Liberal Islam believes that ijtihad can be carried out in all aspects, both in terms of muamalat (social interaction), ubudiyat (ritual) and divineyyat (theology). The purpose of JIL is to spread liberal Islamic ideas as widely as possible to the public, whether accepted or not accepted by the Indonesian people in particular, and abroad in general. create intellectual discourses on religious issues that are pluralist and democratic and have a gender perspective on campuses, print and electronic mass media with a more specific goal, namely, to provide alternative views for the people on socio-religious issues, so that they are not monopolized by one interpretation. anti-democratic and anti-pluralist and misogynist. Inviting the public to think critically, argumentatively, think contextually and not to be trapped in dogmatic values.

Abstract

As an interesting study theme, nationalism or other terms related to it also have their own uniqueness and complexity. This is because nationalism is often written with a capital letter 'N'. That is, it is already associated as an ideology as well as other ideologies such as Marxism, Socialism, and so on. However, what I will discuss in this work is not Nationalism with 'N', but nationalism with 'n'. At first glance, what is the meaning of a capital letter or not, but later in the discussion it will have a big impact. What is meant by nationalism by 'n' is not as an ideology, but a sense of nationality. Or in other terms it is also called national consciousness. This model of nationalism will be our discussion. A national consciousness sown in the dry fields of the colony called the Dutch East Indies. Not farmers or cultivators, but journalists who sow the seeds of national awareness through the media in the form of newspapers. In this case, the newspaper in question is, of course, the newspaper that initiated the effort to foster national awareness. and the choice fell on a newspaper published in 1907, Medan Prijaji, with a journalist with a strong character, RM Tirto Adhi Soerjo. This newspaper was chosen because apart from being a pioneer in the effort to raise awareness of 'us' as a nation, he also has a firm political stance. From jargon to articles, this newspaper, which had a circulation of 2000, really drew a firm line between 'us' and 'you'.
