Abstract

The development of digital technology has affected the social, economic, and educational interaction patterns of the community, including in rural areas. This study aims to analyze the trend of using Professional Facebook (FB-Pro) in Ranggo Village by reviewing differences based on gender and its relevance in the perspective of Islamic Education. The research used a descriptive qualitative method with interview, observation, and documentation techniques on 10 content creators (5 men and 5 women) and 2 religious figures. The data is analyzed with a thematic approach to identify key patterns, themes, and categories. The results of the study show that FB-Pro is used by the public not only as a means of entertainment, but also as an economic opportunity through content monetization. The gender difference is quite significant: men tend to be limited to personal content and hobbies, while women are more creative, expressive, and successfully use FB-Pro for economic purposes. In terms of Islamic education, religious leaders emphasized that social media should be directed to useful activities, such as da'wah, education, and the dissemination of positive information. This study concludes that FB-Pro has great potential as a medium for da'wah, learning, and community empowerment, although it is currently more predominantly used for entertainment. Therefore, digital education based on Islamic values that emphasizes ethics, responsibility, and gender equality is needed so that the use of social media can provide benefits for the people.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering students’ learning creativity at SMKN 2 Pangkep. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis involved data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing to obtain valid and comprehensive findings. The results show that PAI teachers play several essential roles in the learning process, including those of murabbi (educator and nurturer of character), mu‘allim (provider of knowledge), mu’addib (moral guide), mudarris (classroom teacher), mursyid (spiritual mentor), and ustadz (religious role model). To realize these roles, teachers apply various creative learning strategies such as interactive discussions, project-based and contextual learning, simulations, motivation sessions, and the use of digital media. These methods help create a learning environment that is active, engaging, and conducive to creativity. The study also finds that students demonstrate several forms of creativity, including confidence in expressing opinions, critical and analytical thinking, collaboration, the ability to produce Islamic-based works, and active involvement in religious and social activities. Such outcomes show that creativity in Islamic education is holistic, encompassing intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions. Overall, this study highlights the crucial role of PAI teachers in developing students who are not only religiously observant but also creative, innovative, and adaptable to modern educational challenges. The integration of Islamic values with technological advancements strengthens the relevance of Islamic Religious Education in shaping learners with balanced faith, knowledge, and character.

Abstract

Multiculturalism is an unavoidable social reality in human life. The diversity of religion, ethnicity, language, and culture is an inevitable reality that should serve as a source of strength rather than conflict. However, the lack of multicultural awareness often leads to social tensions. In this context, education plays a strategic role in instilling human values, tolerance, and respect for differences through an inclusive and multicultural-oriented curriculum, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to analyze multicultural values, identify strategies for developing a multicultural-based curriculum, and examine the challenges and solutions in its implementation. The method used is a qualitative approach with a library research design, focusing on the exploration and analysis of various written sources such as books, scientific journals, articles, and relevant online materials. The results of the study indicate that the application of values such as tolerance, unity, mutual cooperation, and solidarity plays an important role in shaping inclusive student character. The strategies used include adjusting the educational philosophy toward a more humanistic approach, integrating cultural values into learning materials, implementing collaborative learning, and using comprehensive evaluation methods. In the context of Islamic Religious Education, the multicultural approach is effective in fostering religious moderation and tolerance, although it still faces obstacles such as limited resources and insufficient teacher training. Therefore, collaboration among the government, educational institutions, and society is needed to strengthen the implementation of multicultural curricula in schools.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the values of Siri' Na Pacce as a paradigm of Islamic character education based on local culture in South Sulawesi. Siri' Na Pacce is a philosophy of life for the Bugis-Makassar community that contains moral, social, and spiritual values such as self-esteem (siri') and social concern (pacce). This study uses a qualitative approach with the library research method, exploring various cultural, Islamic, and character education literature. The analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically to explore the relevance between Siri' Na Pacce values and the principles of Islamic character education. The research findings indicate that Siri' aligns with the Islamic concepts of 'izzah (self-respect) and haya' (shame toward sin), while Pacce reflects the values of rahmah (compassion) and ukhuwah islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood). These two values have great potential to be integrated into the Islamic character education curriculum thru curriculum approaches, habituation, and role modelling. Case studies in several Islamic educational institutions in South Sulawesi show that applying the values of Siri' Na Pacce can strengthen the character development of students to be honest, responsible, and caring toward others. Thus, Siri' Na Pacce is not only a local cultural heritage, but also a paradigm of Islamic character education that is contextual and relevant in addressing the moral challenges of the younger generation in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the local wisdom values of Bugis Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, and Sipakainge in strengthening religious moderation through Islamic Religious Education (PAI). Using a qualitative approach through the library research method, this study examines relevant literature related to the concept of religious moderation, Islamic education, and local Bugis cultural values. The results of the study show that the three main values are closely related to Islamic principles that emphasize humanity, justice, and balance in religion. Sipakatau means humanizing humans, Sipakalebbi emphasizes mutual respect, while Sipakainge contains the value of reminding each other in kindness. These three values substantively reflect the principles of religious moderation, namely fairness, tolerance, and avoiding extremism. The implementation of 3S values in PAI learning can be carried out through contextual and culture-based approaches, such as social projects, reflection on human values, and collaboration with indigenous leaders and local scholars. This study concludes that the integration  of Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, and Sipakainge values  not only strengthens the relevance of PAI in the multicultural context of Indonesia, but also becomes a strategic foundation for building a religious character that is moderate, humanist, and rooted in the nation's culture.

Abstract

The issue of Islamic education has always been an intriguing topic of scholarly inquiry. The use of hermeneutics as the foundational basis of Islamic education is grounded in the Qur’an and prophetic teachings. The objective of this study is to analyze the extent to which the hermeneutic method can serve as a foundation for Islamic education. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. The data sources consist of both primary and secondary materials. Primary data were obtained from key reference books, while secondary data were drawn from relevant journals, books, magazines, and other documents related to this research. The data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings indicate that Islamic education requires the integration of cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions, all of which aim to bring human beings closer to God and to actualize their human potential. Thus, Qur’anic and prophetic hermeneutics offer a dynamic conceptual framework for understanding Islamic education as a process of meaning-making rather than merely a transfer of knowledge.

Abstract

This literature review explores the theoretical foundations of Islamic Educational Psychology and its practical implementation in contemporary educational settings. By integrating modern psychological theories with Islamic values derived from the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical as well as contemporary scholarly thought, Islamic Educational Psychology offers a holistic perspective on human development. The findings show that Islamic psychology emphasizes the balanced growth of the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of learners. This integrative perspective provides a more comprehensive alternative to secular psychological theories, which often overlook the spiritual dimension of human behavior. The review also highlights the relevance of Islamic Educational Psychology in addressing modern educational challenges such as moral degradation, stress, and identity crises among students. Its implementation through the roles of teachers as murabbi, value-infused curricula, motivational frameworks based on sincerity and worship, and spiritually oriented therapeutic practices proves effective in strengthening students’ character, motivation, and psychological well-being. This study concludes that Islamic Educational Psychology plays a crucial role in shaping holistic educational practices that produce intellectually competent, emotionally stable, and spiritually grounded individuals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the components of educational psychology from an Islamic perspective through a library research approach. The study was conducted by examining classical and modern literature on Islamic psychology, Western theories of educational psychology, as well as the works of scholars such as Al-Ghazali, Ibn Sina, and Ibn Khaldun. Data analysis uses content analysis techniques which include theme identification, categorization of educational psychology components, synthesis of Western and Islamic concepts, and formulation of learning implications. The results of the study show that educational psychology in Islam has a more holistic approach because it includes cognitive, affective, motivational, interest, individual development, social interaction, and spiritual dimensions. The Islamic perspective emphasizes the integration of the values of tauhid, adab, intention, and tazkiyatun nafs in the entire educational process. The integration of modern theory and Islamic values has been proven to increase intrinsic motivation, critical thinking skills, interest in learning, character formation, and balance of students' development. This research confirms that Islamic-based educational psychology is a comprehensive and relevant paradigm to face contemporary educational challenges. This approach has the potential to produce students who are intellectually superior, have noble character, and have spiritual depth, so that it is in line with the goal of Islamic education to form kamil people.
