Abstract

Fundraising strategies have an important role in increasing the acquisition of zakat funds, but zakat management institutions in implementing fundraising strategies are less than optimal so that seen from the amount of realization of zakat fund collection in Indonesia has a large gap with the potential. This research aims to explain the fundraising strategy at YDSF Surabaya in increasing the acquisition of zakat funds and explaining the obstacles faced by YDSF Surabaya in conducting fundraising activities. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Researchers used data collection techniques from interviews using purposive sampling techniques, observation, and also documentation. The result showed that YDSF Surabaya in conducting fundraising strategies used two methods, namely direct fundraising and indirect fundraising conducted offline and online. The obstacles faced are not all fundraising officers master the product, the difficulty of obtaining donor numbers, the less optimal collection throgh institution’s application, the disconection of functions between divisions, limited human resouces and the emergence of similar programs in other amil zakat institutions. By using fundraising strategies, YDSF Surabaya can increase the aquisition of zakat fund every year.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology provide convenience for humans. One of the impacts is in the field of digital payment systems, namely QRIS. This study aims to determine the effect of promotion and convenience on the decision to use the QRIS digital payment system for Generation Z in Bojonegoro Regency. This type of research is quantitative research with an associative approach. The sampling method applies non-probability sampling techniques by determining the sample through purposive sampling. The data collection technique used a questionnaire measured on a Likert scale. For data analysis techniques, multiple linear regression is used which is processed with the help of SPSS 24 software. The results of this study indicate that the promotion variable has a positive and significant effect on the decision to use the QRIS digital payment system. Then the convenience variable has a positive and significant effect on the decision to use the QRIS digital payment system. The results of this study indicate that to increase the use of QRIS in Bojonegoro Regency there needs to be more effective promotion and increased ease of use. These two factors have proven significant in influencing the decision to use QRIS among Generation Z.

Abstract

Poverty is still a social challenge that must be overcome. Islam has a solution for alleviating poverty through zakat. However, in reality, zakat collection is currently still not optimal. This research aims to determine the influence of religiosity and zakat literacy on compliance with paying zakat by the ASN profession of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of East Java Province. Research data were taken from primary sources through direct distribution of questionnaires and through google forms to respondents. This study uses a quantitative approach with non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling method. The results of data analysis through SPSS with multiple linear regression show that the religiosity variable has a significant effect on compliance with paying professional zakat.Zakat literacy variable also has a significant effect on compliance to pay professional zakat. Simultaneous testing shows that religiosity and zakat literacy variables have a significant effect on compliance with paying professional zakat. The results of this study also support zakat institutions to improve their programs aimed at increasing religiosity and literacy in society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of halal awareness, promotion and service quality in the decision to use food delivery services in online motorcycle taxi applications by Muslim communities in East Java. This research method uses a quantitative approach with primary data collection through a google form questionnaire which is then distributed. Sampling using purposive sampling method which has the criteria of the East Java Muslim community and has used online motorcycle taxi food delivery (Go-food, Grabfood, Maxim Food and others). The research findings show that halal awareness does not have a positive and significant effect on the decision to use the food delivery feature in the online motorcycle taxi application. Promotion variables and service quality show that there is a positive and significant influence on the decision to use the food delivery feature in online motorcycle taxi applications for Muslim communities in East Java. Thus, the application of halal awareness in Muslim communities in East Java in the decision to use food delivery in online motorcycle taxi applications is still low and not optimal because Muslim communities have various backgrounds that can shape consumption patterns while promotions can make a source of motivation in purchasing using online motorcycle taxi applications and the quality of service of online motorcycle taxi applications is in accordance with consumer expectations during transactions.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of maqasid sharia and the effectiveness of the MEC (Mandiri Entrepreneur Center) of LAZ Yatim Mandiri Surabaya program on mustahik welfare through work productivity as an intervening variable. Previously, there were previous studies that discussed the effect of maqasid sharia using qualitative methods. However, the method used in this study is quantitative by distributing questionnaires online and SEM-PLS as an analytical tool. The results showed that the value of maqashid sharia has a significant effect on work productivity and mustahik welfare. In contrast, the effectiveness of the MEC program has no effect on work productivity and mustahik welfare. Furthermore, work productivity is proven to be significant as an intervening variable that mediates the maqasid sharia principle in influencing mustahik welfare. In conclusion, a maqasid sharia-oriented approach has an important role in improving the welfare of mustahik through increased work productivity. Therefore, the integration of ethical and moral values in economic empowerment programs through zakat can be an effective strategy to improve mustahik welfare and encourage mustahik to transform into muzaki.

Abstract

Banks' operational quality heavily depends on their financial performance, which serves as a primary parameter for assessing their contribution to the economy and social welfare. This study looks at how financing risk (NPF), third-party funds (DPK), efficiency (BOPO), and liquidity (FDR) affect profitability (ROA), with capital adequacy ratio (CAR) being a variable that works in between for Islamic banks. The findings, which were conducted on a sample of 12 Islamic banks in Indonesia during the 2019–2023 period using quarterly data, indicate that NPF and DPK are not significant to ROA but influence CAR. BOPO negatively affects ROA, while FDR is not significant to ROA but significant to CAR. CAR acts as an intervening variable, strengthening the relationship between these factors and ROA. This underscores the need for Islamic banks to pay greater attention to managing financing risk, third-party funds, operational efficiency, and liquidity to maintain the balance between capital and profitability. The implications of this study underscore the critical importance of risk and capital management in Islamic banking, as success in these areas will impact the sector's competitiveness and contribution.

Abstract

Poverty is a problem in developing countries resulting from the dualism of modern sector development that provides limited employment opportunities. The handling of the problem can be done by multidimensional policies based on economic and non-economic aspects. This study aims to analyze the effect of digitalization, foreign investment, education, economic growth, and Islamic banks partially on poverty in Indonesia. The object of observation is 33 provinces in Indonesia over 10 years from 2012 to 2021 and processed with static panel regression. The results showed that digitalization, foreign direct investment, and education have a negative significant effect on poverty. On the other hand, Islamic bank has negative and insignificant effect on poverty. Economic growth has a positive and significant effect on poverty. The implication of this research is that strengthening digital infrastructure and expanding access to education can have a positive impact on investment, while economic growth can in turn reduce poverty. This research contributes to providing recommendations on how strengthening digital infrastructure and wider access to education can reduce poverty in Indonesia.

Abstract

The development of digital technology makes it easier for consumers to shop online, but raises consumer doubts about the products they want to buy. To overcome this, consumers rely on online reviews. This study examines the effect of differences in emotional polarity, argument quality, and presentation modality on perceived review helpfulness and trust in reviews on Muslim fashion at Shopee E-commerce using ANOVA analysis techniques and simple linear regression tests. The results showed that reviews with emotional mix-neutral, strong argument, and rich modality were more helpful than positive emotional, weak argument, and lean modality. In addition, perceived review helpfulness affects trust in reviews. Marketers can increase perceived review helpfulness by encouraging reviews that consist of positive and negative product details, strong arguments and use high modality.

Abstract

We often encounter impulse purchases in everyday life. This research aims to identify the influence of social factors, store environment and shopping lifestyle on impulsive buying of Muslim consumers at Matahari Department Store Royal Plaza Surabaya. This research uses a quantitative research method with an associative approach and uses a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling technique. The type of data in this research uses primary data and is collected through distributing questionnaires with Likert scale measurements. The analysis technique used to test the hypothesis uses SmartPLS 4. The research results show that partially the social factors and shopping lifestyle variables have a positive and significant effect on consumer impulse buying. Meanwhile, the store environment variable has no significant effect on consumer impulse buying. This shows that consumers need recommendations from others to buy a product and make purchases that suit their lifestyle and financial capabilities. Recommendations from others are important because they increase consumer trust in the product.

Abstract

Technological developments have entered the Islamic financial industry, causing transaction activities that can be carried out online, one of which is through Mobile Banking at Islamic Banks. This study aims to examine the Perceived ease of use, Religiosity, and Trust in the interset in using Islamic Bank Mobile Banking at Sidoarjo community. The study used a quantitative method with an assosiative approach. The data used in this reseacrh were obtained from questionnaire with total total of 170 respondents from sampling using purposive sampling. The data analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results in this study state that the perceived ease of use does not have a significant effect on the interest in using Islamic Bank Mobile Banking because the public already understands that using mobile banking can provide convenience in all transactions so whether the mobile banking system is easy or not does not affect the public to use mobile banking, religiosity has a significant positive effect on the interest in using Islamic Bank Mobile Banking so that religiosity affects the actions of the public to use or use a product including the use of services from Islamic banking, namely mobile banking, and trust in Mobile Banking has a significant positive effect on the interest in using Islamic Bank Mobile Banking because the public understands that the use of mobile banking is based on a sense of trust that the service is reliable.
