Abstract

This research deals with the lack of  interest of the students in Arabic Language Teaching Program at STAIN Datokarama Palu. This research is intended to describe the factors that make the students have low in interest in Arabic Teachiung Program. The results shows that decreasing interest is much more associated with (1) the lack of opportunity to find jobs, especially to be civil servants; (2) the influence their counterparts to make a similar choice; and (3) the deminishing promotion of this program to the prospective students. The efforts have to be made in order to get much more students are incessant promotion of this program to public, intensive Arabic preparation for students and curriculum improvement.Kata Kunci:    minat, pendidikan bahasa Arab, sosialiasi, lapangan kerja

Abstract

A study of relationship between state and religion includes three paradigms: integralistic, symbiotic, and secularistic, which are products of legal reasoning to Quranic messages in the context of human history. In the case of Indonesia, it embraces Pancasila, which is neither based on religious nor secular systems. However, muslim communities in Indonesia become political targets due to the factors which include the weakness of Islamic politics that is uprooted from Islamic fundamental values in terms of political aspirations, and the application of western democracy that is not compatible with the traditions and cultures of Indonesia.Kata Kunci: pemikiran Islam, Negara, agama

Abstract

In Indonesia, the penal issues of psychotropic drugs can be described from two aspects: types of psychotropic drugs which have been abused and types of drug abuse which have their own different penalties. A judge in his or her interpretation of this issue just looks at the maximum amount, not minimum one. In the perspective of Islamic law, some moslem scholars make an analogy of these kinds of drug to khamr (wine) because of the same reason (‘illat, ratio legis); that is, intoxication. Concerning to the penalty to drug abusers, some moslem scholars argued that the penalties are had, while others said ta’zîr as a maximum punishment to this crime, and it is within the authority of the moslem judges.Kata Kunci:    penyalahgunaan narkoba, hukum positif,  hukum Islam

Abstract

This paper deals with the enforcement of the law and the ethical codes of legal profession, with an analysis from the Islamic approach. It explores legal issues that relate to legal officials, as well as the background and reasons behind the significance of such enforcement that is based on Islamic piety (taqwâ). This paper concludes that the enforcement of the ethical code of legal profession, which is based on Islamic piety, is a solution for the law enforcement and the establishment of the supremacy of law in society as well.Kata Kunci: penegakan hukum, norma hukum, etika profesi, ajaran Islam

Abstract

Surau is a traditional institution of education in Minangkabau which has important role in developing Islam. In Islamic local discourse, surau became a center of order (tarîkah), the center for excellenceand for defending to criticize the another untrue ideology of Islam. In this context, syaikh from each surau write the manuscript  to critisize the untruth ideology of Islam or social condition. There are four surau located in Padang and Padang Pariaman where many manuscripts can be found. The manuscripts are culturally important since they are related to the daily religious needs of the disciples of the order of Syattariyah in both places. This is related to the beliefs that to know about the guru, to posses the book, or to listen to the stories about the ulema, the guru  of the order of Syattariyah are essential. Besides, the manuscripts are written to criticize opinions of the other Islamic schools whichare not appropriate according to the writer’s Islamic perception.Kata Kunci: tradisi pernaskahan Islam, surau, tarekat Syattariyah, Minangkabau

Abstract

Education decentralization in Indonesia provides new atmosphere in managing and improving the school curriculum. The reason is that schools are provided with broad apportunity to manage education based on the school-based curricuculum. Abstract

Perkembangan zaman telah menyebabkan terjadinya perubahan dalam hal tuntutan masyarakat muslim terhadap pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, para pemikir dan praktisi pendidikan perlu melakukan pembauran dalam  mengelola pendidikan Islam yang sesuai dengan tuntutan tersebut. Perlunya dilakukan pembaruan dalam pendidikan Islam tentu saja sangat penting karena masyarakat muslim semakin selektif dalam memilih lembaga pendidikan bagi anak-anak mereka, mulai dari tingkat taman kanak-kanak sampai ke tingkat perguruan tinggi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dalam menghadapi perubahan tuntutan tersebut, para praktisi pendidikan Islam harus melakukan revevaluasi keberadaan pendidikan Islam demi masa depan umat Islam yang lebih baik.Kata Kunci: Islamic education, modernization, Islamic school for excellence, curriculum development

Abstract

This paper deals with the method and technique of teaching ta’bîr shafawî (oral expression). The instruction of speaking skill is one of the essential parts of in the teaching of foreign language. In many educational institutions, the teaching of speaking skill seems to be more dominant than other skills. The objective of teaching ta’bîr shafawî is to develop students’ competence to communicate using target language in real-life situation. A mastery of grammar in teaching ta’bîr shafawî is not emphasized, but it focuses more on reproducing expressions in accordance with the context. Abstract

This paper deals with Ibn Khaldun and his theory of circle (cyclical theory). This theory is based on historical realities in nomadic societies and also urban societies which have their own social solidarity, organizational structure and civilization. From this fact, he is known as the first figure who construct scientifically the methodology of the history of human thought, so that history can be developed both as science and philosophy. Abstract

In line with regional authonomy, an authonomy in education through the concept of decentralisation has become a national agenda. In effect, this requires serious attention from the local government. In this era, local government, which has a strong political will to implement an authonomy in education, will be able to improve the quality of education independently. This, in turn, will support local development which is relevant with local needs and potentials. Otherwise, the local government, that is not concerned with this issue, will be reluctant in improving the quality of education.
