Abstract

Because of the increasing epidemic, many countries around the world have used lock lockdowns to overcome the deathly impact of the pandemic. This was aimed at locking billions of citizens out of their homes, leading to home-based work - new ones, and taking businesses to ensure security. As a result, the global economy is expected to fall by more than 3% by 2020 - the strongest decline since the Great Depression of the 1930s, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). While a recent (pre-Covid) report from Nasscom indicated that the IT sector in India would grow 7.7% in revenue, another report (during Covid) from Gartner indicated that India's IT & ITeS services industry would see 8% decline by 2020. Globally, the IT industry shifted gears to embrace change and was forced to rethink strategies. While the scar will take some time to heal, the IT industry is well prepared to lead and ensure that return to business is much safer.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic situation is harming the health, social and economic well-being worldwide, and with women at the centre. First and foremost of women are major leading the health response: women structure almost 70% of the health care workforce, exposing them to a greater risk of infection. At an equivalent time, women also are shouldering much of the burden reception, given school and child care facility closures and longstanding gender inequalities in unpaid work. And the women also faced high risks of job and income loss, and face increased risks of violence, and exploitation, abuse or harassment during times of crisis and quarantine. Policy responses must be immediate, which they need to account for women’s concerns. Governments should consider adopting emergency measures to help parents manage work and caring responsibilities, reinforcing and increasing income support measures, expanding support for small businesses and thus the self-employed, and improving measure to assist women victims of violence. Finally, all the rules and policy responses to the crisis must embed a gender lens and account for women’s unique needs, responsibilities and perspectives.

Abstract

Flow distribution is a central subject in the processing industry, petroleum and industry, power industry amongst others. The concept of bifurcation has played key roles towards the realization of this science and engineering concept, as the application of bifurcation is identified in the human physiological system as it appears in the arterial system where it aids the distribution of blood plasma through the human system. In this study and experimental methos is used to ascertain the flow profile of water and crude oil representing polar solvent and unprocessed hydrocarbon, as they are allowed to flow through a bifurcated pipe with 10o, 20o, 30o, 40o, 50o, and 60o angles of bifurcation and a recovery volume of 100ml, 200ml, 300ml, 400ml and 500ml. The velocity profile obtained from this study has revealed the existence of a velocity range in the branched daughter channels of a symmetrical bifurcation, and the velocity range has its maximum and minimum values at the inner and outer walls of the branched daughter bifurcated channels, and the results further reveals the alternation of the maximum velocity between the inner and outer walls of the bifurcated daughter channels.
