Abstract

This study examines the impact of government expenditure in education, social protection, public services, infrastructure, community empowerment, investment, and the Human Development Index (HDI) on economic growth in Indonesia’s Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost (3T) regions before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Employing a quantitative approach, this research analyzes panel data from 62 regencies categorized as 3T regions from 2017 to 2022. The study uses panel data regression analysis to evaluate the influence of these expenditures on economic outcomes. Findings indicate that government spending in the education sector consistently had a positive effect on economic growth before and after the pandemic. Conversely, expenditure in social protection and HDI shifted from having a positive to a negative impact post-pandemic. Meanwhile, investments in public services, infrastructure, and overall investment, which previously had a negative impact, showed a positive influence in the post-pandemic period. Overall, government spending across all sectors had a simultaneous and significant positive effect on economic growth in the 3T regions. These results underscore the need for evidence-based policy interventions to enhance the effectiveness of government spending in promoting equitable economic growth in underdeveloped areas.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of Village Funds, the Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR), and Average Years of Schooling (AYS) on per capita income in underdeveloped regions of Sumatra Island. Underdeveloped regions in Indonesia continue to face significant challenges in improving the welfare of their populations, with factors such as Village Funds, labor force participation, and education playing crucial roles in poverty alleviation. This research uses secondary data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and related institutions, employing regression analysis to examine the impact of these variables on per capita income. The results indicate that Village Funds and the Labor Force Participation Rate have a significant positive impact on per capita income, while Average Years of Schooling has a smaller but still significant effect. These findings provide valuable insights for policymakers in formulating development strategies aimed at improving welfare in underdeveloped areas. Approaches that involve more effective management of Village Funds, improving education quality, and enhancing labor force participation can serve as strategic steps to address economic disparities across regions in Sumatra Island.

Abstract

This study examines the role of waste banks in enhancing the economic value of household waste while promoting environmental sustainability. Focusing on the waste bank implemented in Susukan Siroto, East Ungaran District, Semarang Regency, Indonesia, the research evaluates its impact on the community's waste management practices and economic potential. The descriptive qualitative method was employed, involving interviews with 30 participants from the Family Empowerment and Welfare Group. Findings reveal that waste banks effectively increase awareness about waste sorting and recycling. Through systematic waste management, including sorting and depositing waste, communities gained both financial benefits and environmental improvements. Data from two implementation phases (June and August 2024) show a significant increase in waste deposits and financial returns for participants. Inorganic waste, such as plastic bottles, used cooking oil, and boxes, were transformed into valuable commodities, demonstrating the circular economy concept. The study highlights the importance of community involvement and education in achieving sustainable waste management. Waste banks not only reduce waste volume at landfills but also contribute to economic resilience, environmental conservation, and social harmony. The findings suggest that waste banks serve as a practical model for waste valorization, aligning with sustainable development goals.

Abstract

Marriage often requires couples to make significant adjustments, including co-residing with in-laws. This study explores the relationship between social support and stress among 97 daughters-in-law living with their in-laws. Using purposive sampling, we adapted and modified measurement tools: Mayanti (2019) for social support (reliability coefficient: 0.952, 28 valid items) and Shabrina (2017) for stress (reliability coefficient: 0.926, 39 valid items). Regression analysis revealed a significant negative relationship between social support and stress (p = 0.000, β = -0.489). Social support accounted for 42.8% of stress variance, leaving 57.2% attributed to other factors. Findings indicate that high social support reduces stress levels, whereas low social support increases stress. Among respondents, 54.6% experienced high stress, while 45.4% reported low stress. This study emphasizes the critical role of social support in mitigating stress for daughters-in-law cohabiting with in-laws.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work stress on turnover in generation Z at Company X Jakarta. The variables studied in this study are work stress as an independent variable (X) and turnover intention as a dependent variable (Y). In this study, the approach used is quantitative. In research with a quantitative approach, the main objective of the researcher is to measure certain variables accurately. The type of sampling used in this study is accidental sampling, namely in taking research samples, researchers pay attention to certain criteria. This type of sampling is used because it considers practicality and availability of resources. The sample criteria in this study are Generation Z who have worked for at least 1-2 years in a company. The survey containing measuring instruments for the three variables was distributed online via social media. Based on the data obtained, there is a positive influence between the two factors, namely work stress and turnover intention. The higher the work stress, the higher the turnover intention of Generation Z, and vice versa, the lower the work stress, the lower the turnover intention with a value of = 0.791 with a p value = <.001 (p <0.05). This means that the higher the work stress, the higher the turnover intention of Generation Z, and vice versa, the lower the work stress, the lower the turnover intention.
