Abstract

At the beginning of 2020, the world was shocked by the spread of global outbreaks that attacked respiratory like the SARS outbreak in 2003, namely COVID-19. The virus that causes the outbreak called SARS-Cov2. It turns out to have a similarity of ~ 87.5% with SARS-Cov. This similarity can be used to develop drugs and vaccines that are compatible with the current virus. In this case, the bioinformatics approach can be carried out as an initial stage of vaccine development. One way to develop vaccines is epitope-based vaccines. Biological data available and submitted to the public regarding T cell epitopes and protein sequences in viruses can be processed with several bioinformatics tools available online. This study compared the calculation of physicochemical characters between the SARS-Cov epitope and the SARS-Cov2 protein sequence at the same location. The characters being compared are molecular weight, point of isoelectric, aliphatic index, GRAVY, instability index, and antigenicity. Data processing is evaluated by correlation matrix. The results of the processing show that the physicochemical character between SARS-Cov and SARS-Cov2 has a strong relationship.

Abstract

Human factor in software development process is one of the determinants of success of a project, regardless of the technology and tools used. In practice, many project managers do not have any dataset about hard skills and soft skills of their members. This led the software development project team to be trapped in an antipatterns irrational management situation. Based on several main factors that cause software development project failures, a mitigation plan is needed to assist the project manager in managing human resources in their team. The mitigation plan that can be done is to develop people management applications based on principles of Project Management Antipatterns. This research proposes new modeling in the form of applications for people management in software development with the Project Management Antipatterns approach. The results given are in the form of mapping the developer team to the relevant task based on hard skills and soft skills possessed. Besides, this application also provides results in the form of treatment recommendations that can be done to the team to increase productivity and reduce the potential risks arising from the diagnosis of poor practice. The approach used is proven to be able to increase overall team productivity. The refactored solution also proved effective in reducing the value of antipatterns from one sprint to the next.

Abstract

Bananas are fruits that are rich in vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates. Banana trees are often cultivated as they have many benefits. In growing banana trees, it is necessary to consider the ripeness level of bananas since it can determine the quality of bananas when harvested. The ripeness level of bananas is related to marketing reach. If the marketing reach is far, the banana should be harvested when it is still raw. Therefore, a system that can classify bananas’ ripeness levels is needed. In this study, 45 banana images were collected, with a composition of 30 images as training data and 15 images as test data. Afterwards, the texture feature extraction method was utilized to determine the parameters affecting the ripeness level of bananas. The texture feature extraction used was based on a histogram that generated several parameters i.e., average intensity, skewness, energy descriptor, and smoothness in the image. In the subsequent stage, the classification based on the features obtained using KNN algorithm was conducted. Based on the results, it was found that the classification accuracy rate was 88.89%.

Abstract

From the electricity system point of view, smart buildings can be seen as an integration of a microgrid electricity network that connects solar PV, storage system, and building load distribution. The operation condition of the microgrid needs to be evaluated and optimized to obtain efficient and reliable performance. This contribution presents an energy management modeling for the microgrid optimization process in a smart building system. The energy sources connected to the microgrid are solar PV, battery storage system, and the PLN (utility) grid. Combinations of load scenarios are evaluated, which consists of building a lighting system, water pump, dan HVAC system. The optimization goal is to find the optimal estimation of Self Consumption (SC) and Self Sufficiency (SS) values. A simulation result before the optimization shows that the system is operating with SC of 63.2% and SS of 96.32%. After the optimization, the values become SC = 84.68% and SS = 83.27%. Therefore, the amount of energy sourced from the Solar PV system is increased and the microgrid is working more optimally.

Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) is a well-known technology globally, which helps to connect things such as sensors, vehicles, hospital-instruments, industries, and consumer-goods through the internet. Compact smart devices constitute an essential part of IoT. They range widely in use, size, computing resources, and memory. However, integrating these intelligent things into the internet introduces several security challenges, because most internet technologies and communication protocols were not designed specifically to support IoT. Moreover, IoT's commercialization has led to public security concerns, including personal privacy issues, threats of cyberattacks, and organized crime. This review aims to provide a comprehensive list of IoT vulnerabilities and counter-measures against them. To achieve this goal, we first describe three widely-known IoT reference models and define security in the context of IoT. Second, we discuss the potential motivations of the attackers who target this technology. Third, we discuss different attacks and threats. Fourth, we describe possible countermeasures against these attacks. Finally, we describe emerging security challenges in IoT system.

Abstract

The more the development of the carving motifs, the more varied the shapes and variations. It complicates the determination of a carving with Jepara motif. In this paper, the transfer learning method with developed FC was used to identify Jepara's distinctive motifs in a carving. The dataset was divided into three color spaces, i.e., LUV, RGB, and YcrCb. Besides, sliding windows, non-max suppression, and heat maps were utilized for the process of tracing the area of the engraved object and identifying Jepara motifs. The test results of all weights showed that the Xception on the Jepara motif classification had the highest accuracy values, namely 0.95, 0.95, and 0.94 for each LUV, RGB, and YCrCb color space dataset. However, when all the model weights were applied to the Jepara motif identification system, ResNet50 was able to outperform all networks with motif identification percentage values of 84%, 79%, and 80%, for the LUV, RGB, and YCrCb color spaces, respectively. These results prove that the system is able to assist in the process of determining whether a carving is included in the Jepara carving or not, by identifying the typical Jepara motifs contained in the carving.

Abstract

Sentiment analysis is a method for obtaining data from various platforms available on the internet. Advances in technology enable the machine to recognize a term that is considered a positive opinion and vice versa. These data and opinions play an important role as product, services, or other topic feedback. Without the need to obtain an opinion directly from the public, the provider has obtained an important evaluation to develop themselves. Hospitality business is a field related to services, providing services to customers. Indicators of business continuity also depend on customer feedback and serve as a reference for strategic policy. Sentiment analysis techniques based on Natural Language Processing are expected to overcome these problems. In this study, the prediction uses a temporary Random Forest (RF) classifier to summarize the quality of the classifier then it can be done using the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve. The ROC curve is a good graphic to summarize the quality of the classifier. The higher the curve is above the diagonal line, the better the prediction, with the ROC Curve value of 0.90. The result shows that positive reviews are more than the negative reviews, i.e., 68% and 32%, respectively.

Abstract

Air transportation is one of transportation modes with a significant increase in the number of passengers. However, air transportation sometimes is threatened by terrorism act and sabotages, mostly caused by negligence in detecting dangerous metal items. THz wave can be used as imaging because it is safe and has a high spatial resolution. However, THz waves are vulnerable to diffraction. In this paper, diffraction studies and metal imaging simulations of THz waves were carried out using CST Microwave Studio software. The simulation used a bowtie antenna-coupled bolometer as a sensor, due to its simple design and wide bandwidth. Simulations were carried out with various types of antennas with working frequencies of 1 THz, 3 THz, and 5 THz. Variations of plane wave polarization (Ex and Ey polarization) were also performed for each type of antennas. Simulations with increased frequency produce more accurate images because they have smaller diffraction effect and greater spatial resolution. Simulations with Ex polarization produces a better image in contrast because it has a parallel movement of the electric field with the sensor.

Abstract

Android is one of smartphone operating systems that has highest market share in Indonesia. Due to its high market share, Android developers must develop Android applications faster and produce maintainable code. Unfortunately, the existing Android development system is not effective because of its dependency on the developer's experiences and pieces of knowledge that differ from each other. Therefore, there must be a new Android development model to produce maintainable code that implements clean architecture principles code with shorter time development. This system produces a code generator in Android Studio's template plugin that will generate a framework of the Android project with MVP architecture and implements clean architecture inside that framework. This generated framework is also directly integrated with an Android library dependency that contains common functions that are frequently used by Android developers. Testing result shows that this system saves 42% of Android application time development and generates code that has an 81% maintainability level.

Abstract

Aquaponics is a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics. One of the hydroponic systems is a drip system. Parameters that need to be considered in aquaponic culture include the acidity of nutrient solution (pH), water temperature, and nutrient solution showed by Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). Plant nutrition is obtained from fish manure which contains nitrogen. Therefore, monitoring pH, TDS, and temperature in realtime and controling soil moisture in aquaponic plants are needed so the plants do not lack nutrients. Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface (REST API) is used to receive threshold values by farmers through the website and also sends soil moisture values and aquaponics parameters of pH, temperature, and TDS to server. Delay test of the monitoring and controling system is needed to determine the device’s reliability of transmission data. Notification by email is sent to farmer if the soil moisture value is less than the threshold. The result shows that the system can send notification by email to farmer when the soil moisture value was less than the threshold, the average delay of the node-gateway monitor is 6.01 s, while the average delay of gateway-server monitor 10.02 s, and the average delay of server-gateway control is 92.55 s.
