Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of baby blues as a triggering factor for self-harm behavior and violence against children in Pekanbaru City. The research problem stems from the low level of public understanding of baby blues, which is often perceived as a mild emotional disturbance following childbirth, even though it can develop into a more serious psychological disorder. This study aims to determine the influence of baby blues on the emergence of self-harm behavior and violence against children. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive research design. The study was conducted at the Regional Technical Implementation Unit for the Protection of Women and Children (UPT PPA) of Riau Province through interviews, observations, and documentation involving informants related to women and children's cases. The findings indicate that hormonal changes, physical exhaustion, psychological pressure, lack of family support, and socioeconomic conditions are the main factors contributing to baby blues. These conditions lead to emotional instability, stress, and loss of self-control, thereby triggering self-harm behavior and violence against children. This study emphasizes the importance of family support and mental health services for postpartum mothers.

Abstract

Serial numbers are a series of numbers and letters printed on a metal surface, either on the frame or chassis, or on the engine surface of a motor vehicle. These numbers are created by manufacturers as a means of identification and control, both physically and administratively. In practice, however, vehicle serial numbers are often falsified to deceive law enforcement officers as a modus operandi in vehicle theft. This issue becomes the main focus of this research. Using a qualitative method with in-depth interviews involving selected informants, this study reveals that perpetrators of serial number forgery commit crimes based on rational considerations, namely profit and loss calculations aimed at maximizing personal financial gain. Offenders replace the serial numbers of stolen vehicles to prevent detection, believing that the economic benefits outweigh the risk of arrest and punishment. Meanwhile, metallurgical examination by Bidlabfor Polda Riau proves highly effective in detecting metal-related criminal indications in serial number forgery. Forensic metallurgy serves as a scientific approach to examine and collect physical evidence found at the crime scene, ensuring its admissibility as valid scientific proof in court proceedings, thereby strengthening the role of forensic science in modern criminal investigation.

Abstract

Cases of money counterfeiting in Indonesia are becoming more frequent, and the impact of this crime is quite large because it can threaten national economic and monetary conditions. Considering the important function of money as a means of payment, the criminal impact of money counterfeiting is very large and detrimental to the state. This is also what happened in Pekanbaru City. Based on data from the Bukit Raya Police, the number of counterfeits circulating in Pekanbaru has increased over the last few years. In 2021, the number of cases will be 12, with a nominal value of IDR 32 million. In 2022, the number of cases is expected to increase to 11 cases with a nominal value of IDR 36 million, and in 2023, the number of cases will increase to 10 cases with a nominal value of IDR 35 million. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and the case study method. The results of this research are descriptive data to explain the phenomena encountered based on the researcher's observations. Based on the research results, it is known that criminal acts of money counterfeiting that occur in Pekanbaru City are mainly caused by economic factors. The majority of perpetrators are unemployed people who do not have a job and take shortcuts to obtain money, namely by committing criminal acts of circulating counterfeit money. Factors such as economic inequality, easy access to technology, and weak law enforcement. In its handling, the Bukit Raya Police faced many obstacles in dealing with the problem of circulating counterfeit money in Pekanbaru. The main obstacle to overcoming the problem of counterfeit money circulation is the absence of preventive measures that are truly effective in dealing with this problem, because the police can only act when there are problems or complaints from the public.

Abstract

Forensic sciences are basically any scientific knowledge that is used to reveal criminal incidents objectively and scientifically. Scientific knowledge can be used as a tool to reveal criminal incidents objectively because scientific knowledge is obtained through scientific research so that its truth can be guaranteed scientifically. Digital forensic analysis of examination of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) recordings is an important strategy in handling crime cases by the police. With CCTV technology increasingly developing, video recordings can be invaluable evidence in investigating and uncovering crimes. Various ways can be done to increase security, one of which is by installing monitoring cameras or what is usually called CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) which is used as a surveillance camera tool. CCTV contains a video recording file that can be used as digital evidence in disclosing a judicial case. Using a qualitative approach by conducting in-depth interviews with sources. This research explains that the combination of CCTV and digital forensic analysis provides a comprehensive and powerful approach in handling crime cases. CCTV provides basic visual evidence, while digital forensics ensures the integrity and accuracy of that evidence, while adding analytical value for deeper investigations. In an effort to study all content to find evidence that will convince the court, digital investigations must find the right solution by searching all electronic devices located at the scene of the crime, from computers, laptops, cell phones, internal networks, the Internet and others to analyze video, audio, and images. This is believed in the Locard Exchange theory to be a form of trace left behind when someone commits a crime in order to uncover the crime that occurred. Keywords can be single words or combinations of words. The number of keywords should be 3-5. These keywords are essential for computerization, facilitating the search for the research title and abstract.

Abstract

Trading activities of illegal imported goods entering the territory of the Republic of Indonesia are increasingly occurring. Even though the Government itself has established various legal products to protect the implementation of import activities to meet the needs of the people. These illegal products can include children's toys, ceramics, used clothes, used electronics, foreign cigarettes that do not have Indonesian excise stamps attached to them, liquor (drinks containing ethyl alcohol) and other products. This is done to gain large profits. These conditions ultimately make trade in Indonesia increasingly necessary to be monitored. Using qualitative methods to conduct in-depth interviews with several selected sources. This research explains that the forms included in the first phase, namely primary crime prevention strategies, are carrying out routine patrols and raids, as well as using technology when working under intensive supervision. Included in this is public education in increasing awareness and participation with the community to protect their territory. The situation that is classified in the second phase, namely the secondary crime prevention strategy as an effort by the Ditreskrimsus in eradicating criminal cases of trafficking in illegally imported goods in Riau Province, is to carry out a strict law enforcement process. Next, confiscate and destroy illegal goods. In the third phase, namely the tertiary crime prevention strategy, the category of action reflected in this is collaboration between agencies and analysis of smuggling cases that have occurred.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing glue-sniffing behavior among adolescents in Kandis Kota Village. The indicators examined include educational background, economic conditions, daily activities, and other factors that are presumed to contribute to the emergence of such behavior. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach involving twelve informants, consisting of five adolescent glue sniffers, five parents, one local resident, and one village official. The research was conducted in Kandis Kota Village, Siak Regency. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. In addition, this study applies Differential Association Theory to strengthen the analysis. The results indicate that, based on the perspective of Differential Association, glue-sniffing behavior emerges due to peer influence and incorrect social learning processes. Based on the findings, it is recommended that various parties including families, neighbors, the surrounding community, schools, and the village government—be involved in efforts to guide and rehabilitate adolescents who have fallen into gluesniffing behavior.

Abstract

The increase in cross-border crimes, especially narcotics smuggling through the sea route in the Riau region, is a serious threat to public security and order. Riau's geographical location is close to international waters making it one of the vulnerable points for the entry of narcotics networks from abroad. This study aims to examine the efforts of the Riau Regional Police Directorate in preventing narcotics smuggling through the sea route by focusing on prevention strategies, operational constraints, and the level of effectiveness. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that prevention is carried out through routine patrols, cooperation with related agencies, supervision of vulnerable areas, and the involvement of coastal communities. However, there are still obstacles in the form of limited facilities, the breadth of the supervision area, and the development of the perpetrator's modus operandi. Overall, the efforts made reflect an adaptive preventive approach in dealing with narcotics crimes.
