Abstract

This research aimed to find out students’ conceptions and the student‘s factors that causing misconceptions on genetics material of XII grade science class at Pontianak City Senior High School of 2018/2019 Academic Year. The method used in this research was descriptive with survey form. The research sample was determined using a random sampling technique of 100 people. The research was conducted with the giving of twenty-four questions of diagnostic test in the form of essay which include four concepts that were genetics material, cell division, Mendel’s genetic law and mutation. The result showed that the students’ understanding was still low, with the percentage of 27.55%. Meanwhile, students who have misconceptions and not understanding were equal to 33.21% and 39.25% respectively. The result also showed that high frequencies misconceptions were Mendel’s genetic law and low frequencies misconceptions were mutation. The student‘s thinking factors causing misconceptions come from intuitive thinking (31%), incomplete reasons (27.5%), student ability (24.2%), cognitive development stage (8.8%), preconception (6,6%) and associative thinking (3.3%). Meanwhile, misconceptions come from humanistic thinking were not found

Abstract

This study aimed to develop pop-up module related to human digestive system of class VIII SMPN 3 Sungai Raya, and to discover students’ responses to the developed module. The Research and Development (R&D) method was conducted comprised 5 stages such as research and data collection, planning, product draft development, limited product testing, and the revision to the operational product. The product was evaluated by 2 validators to measure  it’s feasibility by testing the contents, language, course, and graphic aspects. The test was employed to determine the students’ responses in the cognitive, affective, and conative aspects. The subjects in this study are the 8th-grade students of SMPN 3 Sungai Raya with 12 preliminary field test students. The validation of each showed a value of 1.00 with a high category. Limited trials showed that the averages of cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions were respectively 94,72%, 92,01%, 89,58% and the average of the students’ responses were 92,10%, categorized very strong. Therefore, the Pop-up module is feasible for teaching material and the response given by the student’s is positive.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students’ learning outcomes through video-assisted STAD of cooperative learning types. The topic of study was the interaction between living things and their environment, which taught in the class of VII A SMP Islam Bawari, Pontianak. This research adopted a classroom action research (CAR) with two cycles which executed in two meetings. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instrument for data collection included learning observation sheets and learning achievement test. In the implementation of the video-assisted STAD model, all stages in cycle I and II were entirely (100%) implemented following the planned learning design. The average student learning outcomes increased from 77.00 (cycle I) to 86.60 (cycle II) with the percentage of completeness (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal, KKM) of 76% and 92% for the cycle I and II, respectively. Overall, the implementation of STAD, which was assisted by the video, succesfully improved students’ learning outcomes on the topic of interaction between living things and their environment of class class VII A SMP Islam Bawari.

Abstract

This research aimed to test the feasibility of flashcard as learning media of The Benefit of Indonesian Biodiversity topic which discussed in 10th Grade of High School. This was qualitative research using a descriptive method. Two lecturers of the Biology Education Study Program of FKIP UNTAN and six Biology teachers from SMAN 1 Toba, SMAN 1 TayanHilir, and SMA YakotaTayanHilir participated in testing the media feasibility. Based on their evaluation, the flashcard was feasible to be used as the learning media in the Sub Material of the Benefit of Indonesian Biodiversity, with the CVR value of 0,78 according to the Lawshe CVR and CVI value for 8 evaluators.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the feasibility of using scrapbook in teaching sub-topic of biodiversity in Indonesia. The type of research was descriptive qualitative research. The determination of the validator was obtained through purposive sampling. The scrapbook education media was validated by two lecturers of Biology Education Study Program at Tanjungpura University and three Biology teacher of grade X at three schools in Simpang Hilir District. The scrapbook media was validated based on three aspects: format, content and language. Based on validator's assessment which was analysed using , the scrapbook was categorized  in the valid category with a calculated CVI value of 1.00 so that it is appropriate to be used as a learning media on the sub-material utilization of Indonesian biodiversity.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the student learning outcomes with cooperative learning models assisted by flipbook media in the material of the human motion system in class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Pontianak. The form of this research was quasi-research (Quasy Experimental Design) with the research design used was Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The research sample was class VIII I as an experimental class and VIII H as a control class, with intact group sampling techniques. The instruments used were multiple choice tests totaling 20 questions. The average student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 16.54, while in the control class was 15.52. The results of the Mann Whitney U test analysis showed that the value of Zhitung<-Ztabel is -2.40 <-1.96, then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, meaning that there were differences in learning outcomes of students taught using cooperative learning models assisted by flipbook media and students who are taught using conventional learning models. The value of the effect size was obtained by 0.72 with the medium category, giving an effect of 26.42% on the learning outcomes of students in human motion system material in class VIII of SMP Negeri 14 Pontianak.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the feasibility of interactive multimedia based on lectora inspire as a learning media on biodiversity material for class X SMA/MA. The method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative research form. The learning media was tested for eligibility by 3 material expert validators and 3 media expert validators. Aspects judged by material experts include the format, content, and language. Aspects judged by media experts include simplicity, cohesiveness, emphasis, balance, shape and color. The material expert validators were the FKIP Untan Biology Education Study Program lecturer, the X grade SMA 1 Jongkong biology teacher and the X grade SMA 2 Jongkong biology teacher, while the media expert was the FKIP Untan Biology Education Study Program lecturer, CEO and Founder of the Borneo Animation School, and the TIK teacher SMA 1 Jongkong. The average value of the format aspect is 3.88, the content aspect is 3.73 and the language aspect is 3.83. The average value of simplicity aspects is 3.33, the integration aspect is 3.88, the emphasis aspect is 3.66, the balance aspect is 3.57, the shape aspect is 4 and the color aspect is 4. Based on the results of validation analysis, interactive multimedia lectora inspire is feasible as a learning media on biodiversity material with a total score of validation by material experts and media experts is 3.81 and 3.76 in valid categories.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the feasibility and response of students to the module of kingdom monera as teaching material for class X SMA/MA. The research take form as descriptive research using survey methods. The samples in this study were high school students in class XI consisting of 34 students from SMA 2 Pontianak, 21 students from SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak, and 25 students from SMA Koperasi Pontianak. The research instruments in this study were the kingdom monera module validation sheets and the student response questionnaire validated by 5 validators. The kingdom monera module validation sheet consists of 4 aspects namely content eligibility, language, content and graphics. Student responses questionnaire consisted of 3 aspects namely cognitive, affective and conative aspects consisting of 25 statement items and divided into 13 positive statements and 12 negative statements. Data analysis technique to determine the feasibility of the module using the CVI formula and student questionnaire responses using a Likert Scale. The kingdom monera module validation obtained a CVI value of 1,00 and was considered valid. The results of the analysis of the overall response questionnaire were 81.76% with a very strong category and consisted of cognitive responses at 80,93%, affective responses at 82,15%, and conative responses at 82,19%. Overall the kingdom monera module was appropriate to be used as teaching material in the kingdom monera material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of the encyclopedia media sub-material utilization of biodiversity in Indonesia in class X high school. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This research consists of four stages, namely making encyclopedias, validation of encyclopedia instruments, validation of encyclopedias and data analysis. The validation of the encyclopedia media instrument was carried out by two lecturers from FKIP UNTAN's biology education. After the instrument is declared valid then the validation of the encyclopedia media is carried out. The encyclopedia media was validated by two lecturers from Biology Education FKIP UNTAN and three biology teachers who taught the X class determined using perposive sampling techniques namely MAN 1 Sambas, Muhammadiyah Sambas High School and Bina Utama Pontianak High School. Validation assessment uses a Likert scale and data analysis uses the formula Lawshe (1975). Based on the evaluation of 5 validator values of Content Validity Index (CVI) 1.00, this encyclopedia is valid and suitable to be used as a learning medium for the use of Indonesian biodiversity.
