Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health problem in Indonesia, with persistent challenges related to treatment adherence and completion due to the long duration of therapy. Non-adherence to TB treatment contributes to treatment failure, drug resistance, and continued transmission. Family involvement plays a crucial role in supporting TB patients throughout the prolonged treatment period and is considered an important component of patient-centered TB care. This study aimed to review the role of family support in the success of tuberculosis treatment through a structured literature review. A systematic literature search was conducted following PRISMA guidelines using Google Scholar, PubMed, and Garuda databases for articles published between 2015 and 2025. Eligible studies were analyzed using a narrative and thematic synthesis approach. The findings indicate that family support significantly contributes to improved treatment adherence, prevention of treatment default, reduction of stigma, and better overall treatment outcomes. Family roles identified include emotional support, instrumental assistance, provision of health information, and supervision of medication intake as treatment observers. However, several barriers were identified, including limited family knowledge about TB, persistent social stigma, and economic burden during treatment. Strengthening family-centered care through education, empowerment, and social support is essential to improve TB treatment success and achieve national TB control targets.

Abstract

In Indonesia, stunting cases showed a decline in 2024, namely 19.8% from the previous 21.5% in 2023. This remains a critical issue because it does not meet the WHO target. Stunting is a form of long-term malnutrition that can disrupt physical balance, cognitive development, and motor skills. This article was compiled by conducting a literature review of various sources found through search engines, such as Google Scholar or PubMed from the past five years, which includes research conducted specifically on the toddler population in Indonesia. The review results indicate various influencing factors, such as birth characteristics. Through analysis of various sources, it was concluded that there are many risk factors for stunting in Indonesia, such as maternal, child, and environmental factors. Maternal factors include the mother's age during pregnancy, maternal mid-upper arm circumference during pregnancy, maternal height, provision of breast milk or complementary foods, early initiation of breastfeeding, and food quality during pregnancy. Child factors include a history of low birth weight (LBW) or premature birth, male gender, a history of neonatal illness, persistent diarrhea, a history of infectious diseases, and the child's lack of immunizations. Environmental factors such as low economic status, limited family education, particularly for the mother, low family income, open defecation or inadequate toilets, unsafe drinking water, and high exposure to pesticides also contribute to increased stunting. Providing good nutrition for infants and toddlers can help improve stunting. Mothers also need to consume nutritious foods, especially during pregnancy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for outpatient registration, the menu items involved, the features of the Sikda Optima system, and the obstacles encountered in outpatient registration at the Kebon Jeruk District Health Center. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method, which involves the collection, processing, and interpretation of data in numerical form. The results indicate that the SOP for outpatient registration has been implemented since January 3, 2023, and that the features of Sikda Optima are complete, meet user needs, and are easy to use; however, several obstacles remain, particularly system failures or errors during operation. The study concludes that the SOP is designed to facilitate administrative processes and ensure effective healthcare services, while the registration items play an important role in ensuring a smooth registration process. Despite the use of the Sikda Optima application, challenges still occur, such as system failures lasting more than 10 minutes that cause the website to become inaccessible, and the lack of integration with the P-Care system, requiring staff to perform double data entry. Therefore, it is recommended that a responsive technician be available to monitor system connectivity during service hours and that system features be improved to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, as the SOP ultimately helps improve service quality, reduce queues, and ensure more accurate patient data recording.

Abstract

Adolescent girls are a group vulnerable to limited knowledge and practice ability of Breast Self-Examination (BSE), therefore effective health education is needed as an early detection effort for breast cancer. In 2023, Banjarmasin became the city with the highest number of breast cancer cases, totaling 36 cases. Leaflet media and demonstration methods are educational approaches that are easily applied in the school environment; however, their effectiveness in improving knowledge and practice ability of BSE needs to be scientifically proven. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education using leaflets and demonstration methods on the knowledge and practice ability of BSE among adolescent girls. This study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed an increase in knowledge and practice ability of BSE after health education was provided. The Wilcoxon test showed a significance value of p < 0.001, indicating a statistically significant difference in knowledge and practice ability of BSE before and after the intervention. In conclusion, health education using demonstration methods and leaflets has a significant effect on improving knowledge and practice ability of BSE among adolescent girls.

Abstract

Dyspepsia is a highly prevalent functional gastrointestinal disorder, particularly among adolescents, and Indonesia has one of the highest reported prevalence rates globally. Recent literature has highlighted the potential role of behavioral and dietary factors, such as emotional eating and spicy food consumption, in the development and exacerbation of dyspeptic symptoms. This review focuses on female adolescents, a population shown to be more vulnerable to emotional and hormonal fluctuations that may increase susceptibility to digestive disturbance. Peer-reviewed articles from the last decade were identified through Pubmed and Google Scholar, then selected based on relevance to the themes of emotional eating, spicy food intake, and dyspepsia. Thematic analysis of the included studies reveals consistent evidence of a link between emotional eating and high energy-dense and irritant food intake, including spicy foods, while frequent consumption of spicy food itself was significantly associated with dyspeptic symptoms such as epigastric pain, bloating, and early satiety. Furthermore, the co-occurrence of emotional and dietary stressors had synergistic effects on the risk of dyspepsia in female adolescents. Further robust, longitudinal, and controlled studies are needed to clarify the mechanism involved. Nevertheless, current evidence supports the inclusion of behavioral and dietary assessment in the early identification and management of dyspepsia in adolescent females.

Abstract

The Population Awareness School Program is an initiative of the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) aimed at improving population literacy and awareness within schools. Its implementation and reporting are monitored through the Sistem Monitoring dan Evaluasi Pendidikan Kependudukan (SIMONEV PENDUK). This study analyzes the reporting performance of SSK and identifies challenges in monitoring and evaluation implementation through SIMONEV PENDUK in East Java Province. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using secondary data from SIMONEV PENDUK accessed on December 13, 2025, supported by in-depth interviews and field observations conducted during the internship period. The findings reveal disparities in reporting performance across districts and municipalities, with some areas demonstrating high reporting rates while others show minimal or no data input. Key challenges include staff turnover, high administrative workload, uneven understanding of the SSK program among schools, and low awareness of reporting as part of the monitoring and evaluation process. Strengthening institutional capacity, establishing clear reporting targets, and implementing continuous monitoring and feedback mechanisms are necessary to optimize SIMONEV PENDUK and promote equitable SSK implementation in East Java.

Abstract

Postpartum family planning (KBPP) is an important strategy to reduce the risk of closely spaced pregnancies and contributes to lowering maternal and infant mortality rates. The coverage of KBPP, as a key performance indicator of the Bangga Kencana Program, is influenced by the quality of recording and reporting through the Family Information System (SIGA). This study aimed to analyze the barriers in recording and reporting KBPP through SIGA in East Java Province. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with secondary data from KBPP coverage in SIGA in 2025 and primary data obtained through online coordination discussions involving representatives from districts/cities. Data were analyzed through data reduction, coding, categorization, and the development of a cause-and-effect (fishbone) diagram, and interpreted using the Human-Organization-Technology Fit (HOT-Fit) framework. The results showed that KBPP coverage was 37.29%, which remained below the national target of 57%. Most districts/cities were categorized as moderate (19) and low (16), with only 3 regions classified as high. The identified barriers included technological issues, population data discrepancies, and organizational constraints, which potentially led to underreporting. It is concluded that improving system quality, strengthening human resource capacity, and enhancing data integration are necessary to support more accurate and targeted policy-making.

Abstract

Workplace safety culture is one of the key factors in preventing occupational accidents in industrial environments. Organizations with a higher level of safety culture maturity tend to demonstrate better safety performance. This study aims to measure the level of safety culture maturity at PT XYZ using the Hudson Safety Culture Model and to analyze the relationships among safety culture dimensions through Pearson correlation analysis. This research employed a quantitative method using a questionnaire instrument based on a 5-point Likert scale covering six dimensions of safety culture: Safety Leadership & Management Commitment, Safety Management System & Enforcement, Worker Participation & Safety Communication, Competency & Operational Safety Practice, Learning & Continuous Improvement, and Reporting & Just Culture. The survey was conducted at the end of 2025.The results show that the average safety culture maturity score reached 4.15, indicating that the organization has achieved the level of a Proactive Safety Culture. Pearson correlation analysis revealed strong positive relationships among the safety culture dimensions, with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.76 to 0.86. These findings indicate that improvements in one dimension of safety culture tend to reinforce other dimensions. This study concludes that strengthening safety culture through safety leadership, effective occupational safety management systems, and an open reporting culture is a critical factor in achieving the goal of zero accidents.

Abstract

Outpatient registration time service in a hospital is a phenomenon that refers to the actions or activities of a system within a hospital or health care facility that aims to maintain and improve health, prevent and treat diseases, and restore health. Patient waiting time in the outpatient registration section is a cause of patient dissatisfaction with the service. If the waiting time for service is long, it will reduce patient comfort and vice versa. The aim is to determine the relationship between outpatient registration service time and patient satisfaction at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan in November 2025. This type of analytical research uses a cross-sectional design. The research sample was 95 respondents with an accidental sampling technique. The instruments used were a patient satisfaction questionnaire and an observation sheet for registration service time. Data analysis used the Chi-square test. The results of this study obtained a patient satisfaction level of 82 people (86.3) and a fast outpatient registration service time of 51 people (53.6). The results of the Chi-Square statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.008 (p<0.05) indicating a relationship between outpatient registration service time and patient satisfaction at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan in November 2025. It is hoped that Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan must continue to maintain good and friendly service times and increase outpatient service times for patients efficiently.

Abstract

Anxiety is a psychological condition frequently experienced by athletes when facing evaluative situations or competitive events. This condition can affect athletes’ focus, emotional stability, and mental readiness to perform at their best. One technique that is not pharmacological has the potential to lessen feelings of anxiety is the consumption of dark chocolate, which contains bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, tryptophan, and magnesium that play a role in mood regulation. This research sought to ascertain the impact of consuming 70% dark chocolate on the anxiety levels of taekwondo athletes in Bondowoso prior to participating in a belt promotion test. The study employed a randomized controlled trial design involving 60 athletes who were split up into an experimental group and a control group. The analysis results showed that the reduction in anxiety scores in the group consuming dark chocolate was greater than in the control group, with a mean difference of 7,43 in the experimental group and 2,90 in the control group (p = 0,000). These findings indicate that consumption of dark chocolate with 70% cocoa content has an effect on reducing anxiety levels among Bondowoso taekwondo athletes facing promotion tests.
