MUKASI (Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi) adalah jurnal ilmu komunikasi nasional peer-review yang diterbitkan oleh Yayasan Pendidikan Penelitian Pengabdian Algero yang terbit empat kali dalam setahun yaitu Februari, Mei, Agustus dan November. Abstract

The Objective of the research is to analyze communiaction accompaniment model among the wardens of class IIB Prison, Kuala Simpang in developing homicidal prisoners. The Research uses constructive paradigm in which the phenomena are constructed objectively and scientifically. It also uses qualitative method, and the data are gathered by conducting library research, non-participant observation adan interview. The research subjects are the wardens, taken by using purposive sampling technique with criteria of those who accompanied homicidal prisoners. The result pf the research shows that the wardens used some models: social interaction model, behavioral counseling model, humanistic personal model and equality model. The form of inter-personal communication development. In this case, there are some obstructions- behavioral obstruction, physical obstruction, decoding obstruction, adan media obstruction, they can be solved by increasing facility and infrastructure which supported the process of accompaniment in devoloping homicidal prisoners in the class IIB Prisons, Kuala Simpang.

Abstract

This film is an animated da'wah packaged with the aim of teaching Islamic values that contain positive educational messages for children. Rara tells the story of a little sister who is curious about many things. Nussa as a patient, loving sister and always gives good advice to her sister. The purpose of this study was to determine the message of da'wah contained in the animated film Nussa and Rara. The method used is the semiotic analysis method of Roland Barthes because this method is classified as suitable for analyzing the da'wah message contained in the animated film Nussa and Rara, namely denotation and connotation. The overall results of this study include; how to behave before bed that must be done for every Muslim, starting all work by reading basmalah, giving a smile to our brothers because smiling is the easiest worship, cleaning the surrounding environment to create a comfortable and beautiful atmosphere, and when the call to prayer is resounding don't be noisy because Adhan is a call from Allah that must be hastened. Episodes 1-5 contain da'wah messages that can be a teaching for the general public about Islamic teachings.

Abstract

Motivation is one of the factors that can affect student academic achievement, it is an indicator of the quality and quantity of knowledge that has been mastered by students. The outcomes are influenced by several factors including the interpersonal communication of lecturers and the motivation possessed by students in studying. This study aims to determine the relationship between students’ motivation in the Faculty of Communication, University of Muhammadiyah, Prof. Dr. Hamka, and interpersonal communication in the learning process in class. The research method uses quantitative research using a questionnaire and descriptively analyzed using David McClelland's needs theory approach as the basis of the research. Research shows that interpersonal communication influences students’ learning processes, especially for students with affiliation motivation. Thus, by knowing students’ motivation during the learning process, lecturers can choose and use the appropriate type of communication so that optimization in the teaching and learning process can be achieved.

Abstract

Twitter is a social media that is widely used by teenagers and parents, especially students. Twitter is a well-known social media where users are free to express their opinions, interactions between individuals are often built between users. The Tweet and Retweet features are a factor in building interaction and broad reach. All social phenomena that occur in the social environment are easily known if social media users skate with Twitter. This study aims to find out whether the use of social media Twitter can be used as a means to improve students' critical thinking in communication science students at No University. The research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive approach. The research data is primary data, namely a questionnaire with a purposive sampling technique and a sample of 100 respondents. Data is processed using SPSS, by performing simple linear regression analysis, data quality test, normality test, regression test and t test. The results showed that the effectiveness of using Twitter had a positive and significant influence on improving the critical thinking of communication science students at Tidar University.

Abstract

A leader's leadership style, both in an organization and in a company, is one of the absolute tips for achieving the vision and mission that has been prepared. A leader must be able to plan and then move all relevant individuals to collaborate in such a way as to achieve optimal organizational goals. The presence of the millennial generation is now starting to dominate in various organizations/institutions because the millennial generation has entered productive ages, requiring them to work and organize. So being a leader of the millennial generation is a big challenge. The millennial generation's familiarity with digital communication technology can be used as a strategy for communication patterns in organizations where most employees are from the millennial generation. Leaders are expected to continue to update and follow digital media developments and be able to apply them in organizational communication. The research method used is the study of literature (literature) which discusses leadership strategies, organizational communication and the millennial generation. Leaders in the millennial era must be able to become connectors, mentors, and openers of opportunities and challenges, as well as digital literacy.

Abstract

Technology has progressed massively, providing people to access information very quickly. Some citizens, misuse these technological developments to slander others, they are not reflecting as good internet users, for the example they used sarcasm to comment on others to express their thoughts. This study aims to analyze negative comments on @megawatisoekarnoputri.id Instagram account which include: a) Form, b) Meaning, and c) Purpose. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected by analyzing Instagram comments from @megawatisoekarnoputri.id account. The data are all facts, words and sentences contained in the comments column of @megawatisoekarnoputri.id's Instagram account which contains negative elements. The data were collected using the method of reading and note-taking, especially the method of free reading with the following stages: 1. Search / data search, 2. Attention / listening and paying attention, 3. Copy paste / taking screenshots or copying, 4. Transcript / transcribing data. The data analysis technique utilized a qualitative descriptive technique with stages, including: 1. Identification, 2. Classification, 3. Description, 4. Analysis. The results of this research are: (1) The form of sarcasm consists of: word form and sentence form. (2) The purposes of sarcasm are: satirizing and swearing, insulting or mocking. (3) Sarcasm consists of several meanings contained in it such as: connotative meaning, denotative meaning, contextual meaning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of social media content and information quality on the #presidential3period phenomenon on the perception of Generation Z on TikTok. Reporting on the issue of President Jokowi for the 3rd period is currently a trending topic on social media and involves Generation Z who take part in a live demonstration on #presidential3period content on TikTok. This study uses the theory of diffusion of innovation (Everret M. Rogers, 1962) and uses and effects (Sven Windahl, 1979) with the assumption that the adoption of tiktok in generation Z has an effect in increasing understanding related to political content. This research uses quantitative research with positivism paradigm and expansive research nature. This study uses a questionnaire on generation Z with a range of ages 13-27 years, as the main method in obtaining data through Google Form. Respondents in this study were. The results in this study indicate that the variables X1 (Social Media Content) and X2 (Quality of Information significantly affect Public Perception (Y) is influenced by other variables that are not used by this study. This shows generation Z. can adopt TikTok media to access political information, especially on the issue of #president3period which causes an understanding effect on generation Z.

Abstract

This study analyzes the audience’s meaning of the bullying’s message contained in the Korean drama series entitled True Beauty. Audience reception studies see that the audience is a communication element that actively receives and interprets messages transmitted by the media, including the drama series True Beauty. True Beauty is one of the best and popular Korean dramas adapted from a Korean webtoon series entitled The Secret Of Angel. This drama series explores the phenomenon of bullying that occurs in the school environment based on the factor of physical beauty. The purpose of this research is to find out how Indonesian teenage audiences perceive bullying scenes in the 2020 Korean drama True Beauty. The data in this study were obtained through an in-depth interview process with 6 Indonesian teenage audiences, namely 5 female teenagers and 1 male teenager. The research method used is the reception analysis method on Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding theory with a descriptive qualitative approach. In selecting informants in this study using purposive sampling technique which includes people who will be selected based on predetermined characteristics. The results of this study are that there are 5 informants in the dominant hegemony position, 4 people are in the negotiation position and 1 person is in the opposition position.

Abstract

TalkCation is a talk show program in collaboration with local television station RBTV Yogyakarta and Yogyakarta Amikom University. This program carries an educational theme wrapped in a youth style so that it can compete with other television stations. The television industry is a dynamic industry, where creativity is the most important thing to make the programs attractive. For this reason, the existence of a creative team is a division that is the key to success in generating creative ideas in creating interesting programs, especially when television is starting to lose its prestige, especially among the younger generation. This is what underlies researchers to conduct research related to the communication strategy carried out by the creative team in packaging a local TV program by presenting the image of young people as the audience. Using the concept of elements and creative space by Rusman Latief and Yustiatie Utud, and examining the application of communication strategy theory to the preparation of creative team communication strategies, researchers conducted a study using a qualitative descriptive approach. The result of this research is that the communication strategy of the TalkCation creative team apparently applies the stages of the communication strategy in the Assify and French models. In addition, the image of young people shown in the program's packaging followed by collaboration between the creative team, the media team and public relations seems to have been effective in attracting the audience's interest in watching TalkCation programs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the online media goal.com and bola.com construct news coverage for the Indonesian National Team Passing the Final Round of the 2023 Asian Cup Qualifications. Football itself is a prevalent sport in Indonesia. The journey of the Indonesian National Team's achievements in the Asian Cup is highly anticipated. The last appearance of the Indonesian national team at the Asian Cup was in 2007. The object of this research news was taken from the Goal and Bola media portals on the 11 - 13 October 2021 edition. This research uses a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative approach and uses the framing analysis model of Zhongdang Pan and Gerarld M Kosicki. The results of the research, goal.com and bola.com, have the same perspective in responding to the Indonesian National Team qualifying for the 2023 Asian Cup qualifying finals. The two media provided support for Indonesia's match against Chinese Taipei. The form of support provided by the two media can be seen from the large amount of news discussing exciting things about the Indonesian National Team, the selection of sources mainly from the National Team, and the number of news headlines that discuss many of the Indonesian National Team.
