MUKASI (Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi) adalah jurnal ilmu komunikasi nasional peer-review yang diterbitkan oleh Yayasan Pendidikan Penelitian Pengabdian Algero yang terbit empat kali dalam setahun yaitu Februari, Mei, Agustus dan November. Abstract

Bloomberg international media has published the news about Maudy Ayunda titled “G-20 Role for 27-year-old Indonesia Singer Sparks Criticism”. The news contains controversy about Maudy Ayunda’s role as a spokesperson of G20 Indonesia. The purpose of this research to answer the study problem is a critical discourse analysis of Sara Mills on the media text Bloomberg about the controversial spokesperson of G20 Indonesia. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods. Data analysis was carried out by text analysis based on critical discourse by Sara Mills emphasis on women’s discourse. Based on the results of the analysis in this study, Bloomberg international media has focused on an economic global rubric. The researcher found Sara Mills critical discourse analysis in the position of social actors: (1) The position of the subject which cornered the role of objects in the form of marginalization and stereotype discrimination; (2) The object's position has no chance to tell herself; (3) The reader's position tends to be directed by the journalist's perspective to feel concerned about the Indonesian government's decision to rush to take human resources from Indonesian youth who are not ready to play an active role in the country's economic and political world.

Abstract

Wahana Visi Indonesia for the South Nias Program Area is a non-profit organization that carries out a campaign to stop violence against children by using a strategy of message appeals with the nuances of local wisdom, namely ono harato sebua. The research employs a descriptive method using a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. The result shows that the use of message appeals of ono harato sebua in the campaign to stop violence against children, using rational appeals, emotional appeals and morality appeals. The rational appeals use visual media and socialization. Visual media using stickers written on ono harato sebua, and socialization is to convey data on violence against children that occurred in South Nias regency, accompanied by presentation on children’s rights. The emotional appeal that arises is positive emotional appeals, and the moral appeal that appears is the attitude of responsibility and changes in good and right parenting patterns. Barriers that arise during the campaign are personal barriers and environmental barriers. Personal barriers refer to public’s perception of the campaign to stop violence against children, while environmental barriers refer to the indifference and lack of cooperation between community groups in supporting the campaign.

Abstract

The rapidly developing digital era has given birth to online media, online media is now the choice because of the ease and speed of accessing it, only with gadgets and the internet, the information needed is immediately available. The source of this research comes from the online media site SINDOnews.com whose focus is related to news related to Bobby Nasution's leadership as the Mayor of Medan in overcoming the problems of flooding and traffic jams that have occurred in Medan City. This study aims to find out Robert Entman's framing analysis when framing news about Bobby Nasution on the online media SINDOnews.com in dealing with flooding and traffic jams in the city of Medan. Framing analysis by Robert Entman contains four main objectives, including defining the problem, diagnosing the causes of the problem, making moral judgments, and providing treatment recommendations. The methodology used in this study uses a qualitative descriptive methodology. The results of this study indicate the framing of Bobby Nasution at SINDOnews.com in overcoming floods and congestion in Medan City, namely that Bobby Nasution as the Mayor of Medan adopted a policy, namely that in dealing with flooding, he will use the retention aspect technology to prevent flooding, and in dealing with congestion, handling is carried out through construction of underpasses.

Abstract

A sign certainly has a meaning behind it, including the use of emojis. This allows someone to use an emoji to convey something. The meaning behind the use of these emojis can vary. Emoji are used in conversations between individuals and other individuals in an online conversation or in a network (online). The purpose of this research is to reveal the meaning behind the use of emojis used by role-players on Twitter. This research will discuss the delivery of certain meanings by an emoji to the recipient. The data from this study were taken from conversations between role-players on Twitter. This study uses an emoji semiotic approach with a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study are the first use, emoji can visualize a person's emotions when exchanging messages through social media such as: (1) feelings of joy, (2) apologies and feelings of sadness, (3) satire, (4) support and praise, and (5) shame. Also, emojis are not used for a single situation or feeling. So, emoji can be used to express various kinds of feelings.

Abstract

The mass media itself is referred to as "media" because of its nature as a medium / intermediary. For the discipline of Communication Science, the media (as a medium) is one of the factors forming the communication process. Whereas mass media, in general knowledge is more defined in institutions / organizations / media companies that produce information in the form of commodities traded, called mass media because the process seeks to direct the results of its production to the widest possible audience. Reality construction is the process by which mass media create information products before they are accepted by the public. Construction of reality is more defined as an effort to compile the reality of one or a number of events that were originally fragmented (random) to be systematic to form a meaningful story or discourse. This article attempts to read the process of constructing reality with the perspective of System Theory and Differentiation from Niklas Luhmann. Luhmann sees through these two perspectives that people get reality from the mass media as the second form of reality that occurs, because the first reality obtained by the mass media experiences the construction of reality when it enters the mass media area. The basis for the construction of reality in the mass media is the existence of self-references and other references present in the mass media system. The mass media system distinguishes self-references and other references in themselves in the form of the construction of reality or the results of information distributed to the public.

Abstract

In the digital era, communication and information technology are increasingly developing which allows digital development to progress very rapidly by developing technology. Making communication in marketing more effective. Therefore, marketing communication is a facility used by entrepreneurs to influence consumers' increase in the product or brand offered directly or indirectly and becomes a statement about the product or brand. In addition, in marketing marketing communications are needed to foster buyer understanding of the goods offered, to increase sales results, and to make goods sell quickly. Therefore, this research aims to understand the role of Facebook social media in marketing communications in the current digital era. The method used in this research is qualitative with analysis and approaches to obtain data information. The results obtained in this study are that Facebook social media plays an important role for communication in the current digital era, this is due to the wide reach that is obtained and the many features that facilitate sales so that marketing carried out by people can be effective and quickly reach their target market.

Abstract

The advances in technology and the era of digitalization have brought people into a new situation, namely when facts are at stake. The principle of communication science that has 2 (two) sides of the message, which are the message delivered and the message received becomes increasingly biased. This is what makes a new phenomenon, post-truth increasingly widespread. Post-truth is the face of most contemporary phenomena. One of the causes is the presence of new media, where a person can become a consumer and  a producer as well. Post-truth is an expression of concern from those who care about the concept of truth and feel that concept is under attack. Indonesian media coverage in September 2022 is currently in that phase. This began with the summons of the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe over the alleged graft case of 1 billion Rupiah. The root of the post-truth problem occurred when loyalists staged demonstrations supporting and showing their side with Lukas Enembe. The research method that will be carried out uses a qualitative approach with descriptive presentation. The data collection technique is by interviewing, and also library research. It was found that his dedication to Papua for dozens of years made Lukas Enembe loved by his people and considered a father for the Papuan people.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interpretation or meaning of sarcasm conveyed by comedian Ridwan Remin in the Introduction JKT 2019 show. This study uses a qualitative approach using the semiotic analysis of Charles Sanders Peirce. Peirce categorizes the triangle theory of meaning which consists of three main elements, namely signs, objects, and interpretants. Researchers conducted an analysis of the selection of text and images related to the element of sarcasm. This research shows that the sarcasm material presented by Ridwan Remin is a reality that occurs in Ridwan Remin's life to introduce himself to the audience, he shows himself as an annoying person such as creating conflict with the audience, then introduces himself as a famous Stand up comedian, after that give his views commenting on the things that are being discussed, then talk about the realities of campus life and useless friends. To Ridwan Remin or other comedians to further mature the writing of material that has an element of sarcasm before it is presented to the audience so that unwanted things do not happen, such as offences that are brought to court.

Abstract

The Role of Business Communication on Customer Satisfaction in increasing profits at Sampono Perfumery. This research is to determine the role of customer satisfaction in increasing profits in the company. There are several things that you want to pursue so that this research data is collected properly, with the aim of knowing the development of business communications that are always applied in increasing profits at Sampono perfumery in each of its offline stores. The method used is a qualitative method using data collection techniques or questionnaires. The data that will be generated is the role of business communication on customer satisfaction and convenience such as the location of the offline shampoo store in Cimahi on Jalan Raya Cibabat and the newest offline store in Bandung, precisely Jalan Braga, providing the best and comfortable facilities so that pedestrians who are traveling in the city can visit the store, in the shampoo perfumery shop, they provide free facilities such as massage chairs and free coffee to provide comfort to every visitor who comes, provide good quality products, employees who always give a good attitude towards customers , so that satisfaction can create added value and increase consumer convenience when shopping at Sampono Perfumery and always provide customer loyalty in every problem or consumer complaint against the company so that it can be repaired and improved, so that Sampono Perfumery can further improve the service back at each of each store.

Abstract

Indonesia has entered the digitalization era by utilizing technology. However, the gap in understanding between urban and rural communities is one of the obstacles to technological development in this country. PT Citiasia Internasional created the Inidesaku application which is aimed at building village communities so that they can compete in this era. In marketing the application, a marketing communication strategy is needed to achieve company goals. This made researchers interested in conducting research with the title "Marketing Communication Strategy of PT Citiasia Internasional in Developing Inidesaku Applications". The theory used is a marketing communication strategy by Kohler & Smith (Banjarnahor, et all, 2021), namely advertising, sales promotion, public relations & publicity, personal selling, direct marketing, sponsorship, corporate identity, packaging, point of sale & merchandising , as well as word of mouth. The results showed that PT Citiasia Internasional used 9 (nine) of 10 (ten) marketing communication strategies in accordance with the theory used. As for 1 (one) of 10 (ten) strategies that are not used is sponsorship, because it is not specifically on behalf of the Inidesaku application. The results of the study also state that personal selling (direct sales) is most effectively used in promoting the Inidesaku application to get clients.
