Abstract

This research aims to exploit the usefulness of school websites using heuristic methods and evaluation. Likert scales are used in questionnaires to collect user perceptions of various aspects of websites, heuristic evaluations are carried out by experts to identify design problems based on usability principles. This website functions as a platform to publish information, activities and student achievements, so its quality is very important to ensure easy access and interaction for visitors. The Heuristic Evaluation method, developed by Nielsen and Molich, is used to assess the conformity of website designs with ten heuristic principles of usability, including visibility of system status, compatibility between the system and the real world, user control and freedom, standards and consistency, error prevention, better understanding rather than remembering, flexibility and efficiency, minimalist and aesthetic design, help to recognize and correct errors, and assistance and documentation. The evaluation result showthat the websiteis quite effective in meeting user needs, but there is still room for improving website speed, strenghening design consistency, and providing better efficiency, option. It is hoped that this researcher can provide guidance fordevelopers and schools to improve the quality of website, so that they can more optimally support theinformation and interaction needs of users.

Abstract

This study examines how to use the Unified Modeling Language (UML) to create a job training information system at the Mojokerto City Job Training Center. This system will replace the training management and registration process that is still done manually. Diagrams such as use cases, classes, sequences, and activities are used in UML to model the structure and flow of the system in design. The waterfall model is also used in software development and includes the steps of planning, needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The implementation of the system results in a web-based application that facilitates the enrollment process. In addition, UML diagrams have been shown to be a useful tool for modeling systems that are structured and easily understood by users. More than 85% of the participants tested found the UML diagram visualization helpful. This information system facilitates the management of training data and makes the training process easier for participants and managers. To improve the user experience, a more in-depth study of the user interface (UI) and the use of system development techniques other than waterfall are suggestions for future research.

Abstract

Broiler chicken farming plays an important role in meeting the demand for chicken meat in Indonesia, with chicken meat consumption reaching 8.0 kg/capita/year in 2022, which is known to have increased by 6.67% from 2021. The rise in consumption drives farmers to increase productivity through daily record-keeping, resulting in a performance index to measure the success of the farm over one period. However, manual record-keeping at Karang Indah farm often leads to data loss and inaccurate performance index calculations. Based on the owner's needs, a mobile-based record-keeping system is required, designed using Kotlin and Laravel, and integrating a REST API via Retrofit2. The development process of this system follows the waterfall method, starting with analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. This system enables the recording of chicken entries, development, health, feed, sales, and education, and can automatically calculate the performance index. The system is accessible via Android, with more comprehensive record results available through the website, improving the efficiency and accuracy of the farm's performance index calculations. The performance index has five categories: <300 (poor), 301-325 (fair), 326-350 (good), 351-400 (very good), and >400 (excellent).

Abstract

In recent years, Scrum has grown in popularity and is now one of the project development approaches widely used by organizations around the world. Startup XYZ has been implementing Scrum since 2021. However, until now, the Scrum implementation process is still experiencing many obstacles. Based on identification through a fishbone diagram, these problems stem from the application of Scrum which has not been maximized in software development at Startup XYZ. The purpose of this research is to measure the maturity level of Scrum implementation in software development at Startup XYZ using the Scrum Maturity Model (SMM). SMM focuses on evaluating and providing direction for software development that implements Scrum. Then the Key Process Area (KPA) Rating is used to define achievements in each process area, which is adapted from the Agile Maturity Model (AMM). The measurement results show that the Scrum maturity level at Startup XYZ is still at level 1 (Initial). Based on the measurement results, improvement recommendations are provided based on the answers to the SMM questionnaire and referring to the Scrum Guide 2020, SBOK Guide v3, and Essential Scrum, with a focus on increasing level 2 and level 3 according to the expectations of Startup XYZ.

Abstract

The development of technology has greatly assisted humans in various activities, such as monitoring and feeding pets or livestock. Numerous studies have focused on implementing automated monitoring and feeding systems using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This technology can be integrated with various other technologies, such as applications or websites. However, current Wi-Fi configurations are still hard coded into the program. This affects IoT devices, preventing them from connecting to different networks. Therefore, this research proposes the development of an application that can be used to monitor and feed animals by adding dynamic Wi-Fi configuration to the ESP32 microcontroller. Wi-Fi that can be configured dynamically makes IoT devices more flexible in choosing Wi-Fi networks.

Abstract

This study employs the Recursive Least Squares (RLS) algorithm to estimate the Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) and internal resistance (Ro) of a battery in real-time, based on measured current and voltage data. The results demonstrate that RLS can produce accurate estimates of OCV and Ro, with a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.031, indicating a very small difference between the predicted and measured terminal voltage. The estimated OCV is stable, while Ro remains consistently within the range of 0.075 to 0.175 ohms, despite fluctuations in voltage due to changes in current. These findings show that the RLS algorithm can be effectively applied in battery management systems to dynamically and in real-time estimate parameters, which is crucial for applications such as electric vehicle battery monitoring and energy storage systems.

Abstract

Asli Bakery, located in Yogyakarta, faces challenges in recording transactions and inventory that are still done manually. This recording system consumes a lot of time and has a high risk of errors. To improve efficiency and accuracy, this research aims to develop an Android-based sales application that allows real-time management of product data, transactions, and recaps. The method used in designing the system is Waterfall, which includes the stages of needs analysis, design, development, and testing. The results showed that this application speeds up the recording process and minimizes errors, allowing direct access to information for employees and shop owners. The implementation of this system shows the ability of Asli Bakery to adapt to information technology, strengthen its market position, and improve services to customers.

Abstract

In this digital era, the need for real-time monitoring of battery conditions is increasing, especially in devices used in daily activities, such as motorized vehicles. This research is a mobile device-based battery condition monitoring system that detects voltage, current, temperature, and calculates State of Charge (SoC) and State of Health (SoH) in real-time. This system uses a 0–25V voltage sensor, an ACS712 current sensor, and a DHT22 temperature sensor controlled by a Wemos D1 R32 as a microcontroller. The sensor reading data will then be sent to the database and displayed in the Android application. System testing is carried out to test system functionality and read battery condition data. As a result, each sensor can run well and show results in accordance with the expected conditions. The reaction sensitivity of each sensor is also said to be quite good, this is proven when the ACS712 voltage and current sensor is not connected to the battery, it shows a condition value of 0, the same as the DHT22 temperature sensor which will produce a high value if the surrounding temperature is high and a low value if the surrounding temperature medium low.

Abstract

This study developed an automated pulse discharge system using Xiao ESP32 and an optocoupler to control the battery discharge process. The optocoupler, connected to pin D7 on Xiao ESP32, is used to control the On/Off button on the constant current load device, allowing the current to be automatically applied and interrupted in a cycle consisting of active and rest periods. The system is programmed using pseudo code that utilizes the millis() function to control the duration of each discharge cycle. The test results show that the current forms a square wave pattern, where a constant current is applied during the active period and drops close to zero during the rest period, providing valuable insights into the battery’s internal resistance and Open Circuit Voltage (OCV). In conclusion, the system successfully automates the pulse discharge process with high precision, generating more accurate data for analyzing battery characteristics under dynamic load conditions, making it suitable for real-world applications such as portable devices and electric vehicles.
