Abstract

This study was motivated by the faith dilemma experienced by the people of Gunung Bayu Village who have embraced the Christian faith, yet continue to seek healing through shamanistic practices despite acknowledging God as the sole source of healing. This practice creates tension between Christian teachings and local cultural traditions. The objective of this study is to provide a dogmatic review of Christian congregants who seek healing through shamanistic practices, as well as to examine the faith understanding of the people of Gunung Bayu Village regarding the doctrine of God as the only source of healing, using a qualitative approach with descriptive-dogmatic analysis. The findings indicate that seeking healing through shamanistic practices contradicts the Christian faith because it reflects dependence on powers other than God and involves elements of syncretism. Based on these findings, it is concluded that the church needs to strengthen theological teaching, pastoral care, and holistic ministry that is relevant to the spiritual struggles of the community.

Abstract

Indonesia is a region located at the confluence of active tectonic plates so it has a high level of earthquake risk. This condition requires buildings, especially steel structures in multi-storey industrial buildings, to have good resistance to earthquake loads. One of the efforts to improve the rigidity and stability of the structure is to use a type X wind bonding system (bracing). The analysis was carried out on two models, namely structures without wind bonds and structures with type X wind bonds. This study aims to evaluate and compare the performance of steel structures without wind bonding and with type X wind bond to earthquake load in the Ester Plant Project building in Medan City. The results of the analysis showed that the structure without wind bond had a natural vibration period of 1,776 seconds, while the structure with type X wind bond had a natural vibration period of 1,434 seconds. The addition of type X wind bonds increases the rigidity of the structure so that it is able to reduce the natural vibration period and produce a better structural response to earthquake loads. The use of type X wind bonds has been proven to improve the performance of steel structures against earthquake loads by increasing the rigidity of the structure and lowering the period of natural vibration. Thus, the type X wind bonding system is feasible to be applied as an alternative to improve the durability of steel structures in high-rise industrial buildings.

Abstract

Windows 11 is a widely used operating system, making it a frequent target for various cyber threats such as malware, spyware, ransomware, Trojans, data theft, and system damage. This situation highlights the importance of implementing preventive measures to enhance system security. One of the security features available in Windows 11 is the firewall; however, users often fail to fully utilize it due to limited knowledge and understanding regarding its configuration and security functions. This study aims to analyze the optimization of firewall usage in Windows 11 as a preventive measure to improve system security and protection against various cyber threats. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing a literature review and system observation. Data were gathered through observations of Windows 11 security configurations; reviews of books, journals, proceedings, and technical documentation; and the collection of system configuration guides and screenshots. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the Windows 11 firewall plays a crucial role in monitoring, controlling, and filtering data traffic entering and leaving the system. Firewall optimization can be implemented across domain, private, and public networks, tailored to their specific characteristics and risk levels. In conclusion, optimizing the built-in Windows 11 firewall serves as a preventive measure that helps enhance system security while reducing the risk of cyberattacks and data loss.
