Abstract

This paper investigates how interfaith dialogue discourse is now developing significantly with the role of social media and youth. Based on online research and virtual ethnography, this paper argues that creatively utilizing social media with involving youth as media-savvy is the main factor in significantly increasing the acceptance of interfaith dialogue discourse. In-depth content analysis with a focus on interfaith dialogue through YouTube podcasts reveals several strategies applied by the creator. This paper highlights several strategies, namely using hashtag and maximizing thumbnail, propagating podcasts with clickbait titles, consistenly uploading content, and connecting with other platforms. In addition, youth involvement also plays an important role in achieving significant interfaith dialogue such as by engaging them with humor and comedy, eye-catching appearance and millennial style, and visual persuasion. Finally, great acceptability achieved by interfaith podcasts on youtube has proven the existence of religious inclusivity in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the role of religious moderation to improving the morale of the millennial generation and helping them become better people. This study used a descriptive-qualitative research methodology. Research data were collected through interviews with questionnaires, non-participant observations, and documentation. The study informants numbered 10 participants (7 men and 3 women) aged 24 to 30 years. Research findings show that diversity can lead to various conflicts if society cannot find a middle ground for everything. These problems can be solved with religious tolerance and moderation to create peace and harmony in society. People who do not have knowledge of religious moderation and good religious foundations will have morals that are not in accordance with religious values, for example, drug addiction and bullying. Both actions are basically driven by environmental factors. In Islam, drugs and bullying are things that have a lot of mudharat, so it is forbidden to do so. However, those who are willing to leave both should not be excluded so that they feel that their change has the support of their surroundings. A society that has a strong knowledge base of religious moderation and faith will always embrace it so that a life of peace, tolerance, and mutual respect can be created.

Abstract

The rules and attitudes of Muslim worship during the Covid-19 pandemic are still continuously applied by the Masjid Gede Mataram Kotagede Yogyakarta in the post-pandemic period. Studies that have discussed this phenomenon focus on the adaptation and recovery process of religious activities, so they have not comprehensively discussed the rules and attitudes of post-pandemic Muslim worship. This study focuses on the question, "How are the rules and attitudes of worship chosen and implemented by Muslims in the post-pandemic?" This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach conducted on the congregation/jama’ah, which actively practices the five daily prayers in the congregation of the post-pandemic. These Muslims were interviewed intensively to obtain data on the activities, rules, and attitudes of worship chosen and practised post-pandemic. This study shows that the post-pandemic worship rules and attitudes of Muslims can no longer return to normal in the new normal era because they are influenced by structural and cultural factors formed during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study recommends explaining post-pandemic Muslim worship rules and attitudes by interviewing more macro and comparative Muslim communities.

Abstract

This article explains the controversial Ngasa ritual. The Ngasa ritual was originally an expression of gratitude to Batara Windu Buana, who is believed to be the creator of the universe who has provided abundant sustenance, so this ritual became controversial. This article aims to map the Jalawastu community and reveal the meaning behind the symbols of their life. Emic perception is the basis for exploring data and analyzing it using a semiotic paradigm. This researcher uses an ideational ethnographic approach. With this approach, it is hoped that many facts can be presented satisfactorily. The findings of this research indicate that there is a pattern of religious and cultural relations, namely the accumulative Islamic style adopted by the Jalawastu people in the Ngasanya tradition. The Jalawastu people, through the Ngasa ritual, formulate religious traditions between Islam according to their views and local traditions. On Tuesday Kliwon Mangsa Kasanga, they were completely.

Abstract

The existence of religion on Earth has evolved into a means of socially and spiritually regulating norms and achieving harmony in life. Aside from that, humanity comes with racial, ethnic, linguistic, and religious diversity. This article aims to demonstrate how Emmanuel Levinas' ethical theory entwines ties between Muslims and non-Muslims to establish nonviolent life training and a culture of peace at Peace Place Pati. Abstract

This article discusses the fiqh learning model of traditional pesantren which according to Soekarno is a very old-fashioned and does not follow the spirit of the times, tends to be shackling, dichotomous, and has not placed religion and science in a balanced position. As a result of the fiqh taught in traditional dichotomous pesantren, santri are less able to adapt to change. The reason is because they learn fiqh that tends to: one, limit it to matters relating to worship to God and how to build relationships with fellow humans only, while the outside of this is not a priority; two, not built on scientific reasoning; three, perspectives that are mostly rigid (black and white); and four, teaching patterns that tend to be indoctrination and anti-criticism. This article is important to reveal Soekarno's criticism of the fiqh model in traditional pesantren, which still exists today. This type of study is a literature study whose data is obtained from literature studies. This study also can be classified in the category of historical-factual studies, while in terms of its approach, this study is qualitative, while the method is descriptive-interpretative with content, language, and concept analysis models, especially to discuss what Soekarno criticised in relation to the fiqh model in traditional pesantren.

Abstract

The concept of Ahlu sunnah wal jamaah (Aswaja) remains a subject of frequent debate. This article endeavors to provide a comprehensive exploration of the Aswaja concept through the perspective of the archipelago scholar, K. Abu Fadlol As-Senori, a disciple of KH. Hashim Ash`ari, the founder of the Nahdlatul Ulama. This article also strives to establish a connection between the concept of Aswaja as it is found and the Aswaja concept of KH. Hashim Ash`ari. This research is a descriptive-qualitative study. This study revealed that Aswaja, as defined by K. Abul Fadlol, encompasses four distinct groups: (1) the Muhadditsin, (2) the Sufiyyah (3) the Ash'ariyah and (4) Maturidiyah. As a student of KH. Hashim Ash`ari, the Aswaja concept of K. Abul Fadlol has a very big aspect of similarity. The concept of Aswaja from both becomes the foundation for building moderation in religion. Both also reject hardline Islamists who claim to be Aswaja

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the dissemination of Islamic literature in contemporary East Java, the efforts of Islamic literature publishers to transmit and embed their ideology, and the significance of this ideology in maintaining the profitability of the publishing industry. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, gathering primary data from publishing professionals and Islamic boarding schools in East Java. The phenomenological approach involves three stages of data reduction (phenomenological, eidetic, and transcendental). The findings reveal that ideology plays a crucial role in the success of the Islamic literature publishing business. Publishers employ strategic efforts and marketing techniques to identify and cater to market potential, including pre-press editing where content is selected based on the publisher's ideology. The demand for Islamic literature among consumers, particularly students in pesantren, is increasing, and publishers and distributors capitalize on this opportunity to maximize profits.
