The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

The transformation of educational goals under the conditions of global informatization has shifted the focus of primary schooling from the transmission of knowledge toward the formation of value-oriented competences. This study addresses the insufficiently developed problem of reconstructing primary education content on an axiological basis, proposing and empirically validating an integrative pedagogical model built on the sequence “value–content–activity–reflection”. The model integrates axiological, learner-centred and competence-based approaches and organizes content around five interrelated components: value, cognitive, activity, reflective and integrative. A pedagogical experiment was conducted in primary classes using a triangulated methodology that combined questionnaires, observation cards, structured interviews, problem-situation analysis, content analysis and statistical processing, with experimental and control groups. Following the intervention, the experimental group demonstrated marked gains: awareness of the essence of values rose from 45% to 73%, practical application of values from 38% to 63%, value-based decision-making from 40% to 67%, and activity and respect in collaborative work from 52% to 74%. The findings confirm that systematizing primary education content through the proposed model strengthens not only academic outcomes but also the moral, social and reflective development of learners. The model is recommended for wider implementation in the design of curricula, textbooks and teacher-training programmes.

Abstract

This article examines the linguo-areal mapping of lexical units in Uzbek and Tajik dialects spoken in Eastern Surkhandarya. The region is characterized by long-term ethnic, cultural, economic and linguistic contact between Uzbek- and Tajik-speaking communities. Such contact has created a complex dialectal environment in which lexical units, synonymous forms, borrowings, semantic shifts and local nominations are distributed unevenly across villages, mountain areas, foothill settlements and rural speech communities.

Abstract

Folk songs are considered one of the most ancient and richest genres of folklore. Therefore, the period of their creation is rooted in antiquity and mythological perceptions. Songs initially emerged as seasonal ritual folklore specimens and, over time, gradually developed into a fully formed genre with distinct characteristics of their own. Folk songs have undergone an evolutionary process ranging from mythological perception to poetic thinking. For this reason, in the content and essence of songs, in their motifs and structure, as well as in the symbols and metaphors associated with them, we can trace the marks of this long historical process. When studying the interpretation of leading themes and motifs in folk songs, it is necessary to examine not only their place within the song structure, but also their mythological roots as a whole. From this perspective, the passages related to dreams in folk songs and the dream motif have been very little studied. When discussing the dream motif in folk songs, it is appropriate to dwell on two aspects in particular. The first is the harmony between metaphors and symbols in folk songs and the symbols and metaphors found in dreams. The second aspect concerns the relationship between dream and myth, and its harmony with the relationship between song and myth. In our article, through the analysis of the dream motif in folk songs, we examine such issues in detail.

Abstract

Alisher Navoi's first collection was composed in 1478-1979. The influence of commonality, cooperation and solidarity in the creative experience of the geniuses of Mutakallim is also evident in the collection of Alisher Navoi. If it was a tradition in the classical literature of the East to start the devon with praise and ghazal, Alisher Navoi would not have considered it in the preface of "Badoe` ul-bidoya" as one of the peculiarities of his collection. According to Khamsat ul-Mutayyir, Abdurahman Jami wrote about this in the catalog of his "college".

Abstract

This pilot study explores how pre-service English teachers in Uzbekistan view the significance, development, and curriculum-based support of 21st-century skills. It addresses a gap in research on English language teacher education in Central Asia, where competence-based reforms are frequently discussed at the policy level but rarely investigated from the perspective of student experiences. Data were gathered through surveys from 190 undergraduates enrolled in English teaching programs. The survey included demographic information, two needs-assessment questions, and 25 items assessing curriculum support across five domains: creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and information, media, and technology skills. The analysis employed frequency counts, descriptive statistics, reliability testing, Pearson correlations, and one-way ANOVA. Findings reveal a disconnect between the skills students consider most important and those they believe they have developed. While critical thinking was ranked as the most valuable skill, communication was seen as the area with the greatest improvement. Although overall curriculum support ratings were moderate to high, critical thinking received the lowest average score. The results indicate that teacher training programs should go beyond broad mentions of 21st-century competencies and instead offer more targeted instruction in analytical reasoning, digital teaching methods, collaborative professional development, creative assessment strategies, and performance-based reflection.
