The mission of the International Journal of Literature and Language Studies (IJLLS) is to provide readers with the development of language studies in linguistics and literature. In addition to manuscripts that center on the study, we welcome manuscripts on a wide range of topics relating to the technology used for language development, cultural impact on languages, computational linguistics, and philosophy of language. IJLLS publishes scholarly conceptual, theoretical, and empirical manuscripts on the study of language and focused on literature and linguistic analysis and development. Submissions to the journal should be readable and understandable by a wide audience. Manuscripts should therefore also focus on analysis or illustration of the issues covered, rather than merely providing a mathematical or technical coverage, which would be more suitable for a specialist journal. All manuscripts are submitted and reviewed electronically. We provide our published authors with both a quality publication and the widespread readership that comes from publishing all manuscripts online within a few weeks of acceptance. This approach ensures that published works are read and cited by the widest possible audience.

Abstract

The study of language and communication has changed as a result of the quick development of digital technology. By combining linguistic theories with computational techniques and artificial intelligence, computational linguistics—also referred to as computer linguistics—has become a new paradigm in linguistic research. This multidisciplinary field makes it possible for computer systems to analyze, process, and produce natural language. With an emphasis on its theoretical underpinnings, research methodologies, and real-world applications, the current study investigates the role of computational linguistics as a new paradigm in contemporary linguistics. The evolution of computational linguistics and its impact on linguistic study were examined through a qualitative survey of academic literature. The results show that through corpus linguistics, natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and artificial intelligence, computational linguistics has transformed language analysis. The study comes to the conclusion that computational linguistics is one of the most important paradigms in modern linguistics because it has broadened the scope of conventional linguistic inquiry and developed novel approaches to language research.

Abstract

This article analyses the pragmatic foundations on which connotative meaning is transmitted in English and Uzbek literary texts. It argues that connotation in literary discourse is shaped pragmatically within the communicative relationship among author, text and reader, and that it often arises not from encoded meaning but from the inference the reader draws on the basis of cooperation, context and shared knowledge. Drawing on the speech-act theory of Austin and Searle, the discourse-marker theory of Schiffrin, the relevance theory of Sperber and Wilson, and the presupposition theories of Karttunen and Stalnaker, the study identifies the pragmatic categories proposition, reference, explicature, inference, relevance and presupposition through which connotation is built. Applying Teliya's four-component model comprising emotive, evaluative, expressive and stylistic components to passages from Defoe's Robinson Crusoe, Hosseini's The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, and Mitchell's Gone with the Wind, the article demonstrates that these components operate not in isolation but in interaction, with one usually dominant and the others auxiliary. It further shows that delayed perlocutionary effects and hybrid speech acts play an important role in the transmission of literary connotation.

Abstract

The digital revolution has transformed the tourism industry by reshaping how destinations are promoted, how tourists access information, and how tourism stakeholders cooperate across borders. In recent years, digital platforms have emerged as key drivers of international tourism cooperation, enabling countries to improve destination visibility, facilitate service integration, and strengthen regional partnerships. This study examines the impact of digital platforms on international tourism cooperation in Uzbekistan and Central Asia. Using a qualitative research approach based on secondary data analysis, the study evaluates how digital technologies contribute to tourism growth, regional integration, and cross-border collaboration. The findings reveal that digital platforms significantly enhance tourism competitiveness through online marketing, e-visa systems, digital payment technologies, smart tourism applications, and social media engagement. The study further demonstrates that regional cooperation supported by digital technologies can increase tourist flows, improve service quality, and strengthen Central Asia's position in the global tourism market.

Abstract

In recent years, the integration of multiple teaching skills - particularly the synergistic combination of pedagogical competencies - has emerged as a salient trend within the field of applied linguistics and English Language Teaching (ELT). A growing body of scholarly work has been dedicated to exploring how the deliberate fusion of instructional strategies, assessment literacy, classroom management, and technology-mediated instruction can enhance learner outcomes. Consequently, an increasing number of researchers and practitioners have devoted considerable time and expertise to advancing ELT methodologies. Their insights have not only enriched academic discourse but have also empowered young language learners and early-career teachers, fostering more dynamic and effective learning environments.

Abstract

The respiratory system undergoes significant structural and functional changes throughout the aging process. These changes affect lung elasticity, respiratory muscle strength, gas exchange efficiency, and overall pulmonary function. Understanding age-related alterations in the respiratory system is essential for maintaining respiratory health and preventing chronic pulmonary diseases. This article examines the physiological changes that occur in the respiratory system with aging and discusses their impact on respiratory function and overall health. The findings indicate that age-related respiratory changes can reduce functional reserve capacity and increase susceptibility to respiratory disorders.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of mobile communication technologies has significantly influenced the lexical systems of modern languages, particularly through the emergence of metaphorically motivated terminology. This study investigates conceptual metaphors in English and Uzbek mobile communication terminology from a cognitive-comparative perspective. Drawing upon Conceptual Metaphor Theory proposed by Lakoff and Johnson, the research examines how abstract technological concepts are understood through concrete human experience. The study employs comparative-linguistic, semantic, cognitive, and terminological analysis methods to identify dominant conceptual metaphor models and determine their structural and semantic characteristics in both languages. The findings reveal that the most productive metaphorical domains include SPACE, MOVEMENT, HUMAN BODY and WAR metaphors. English terminology demonstrates higher metaphorical productivity and innovation, whereas Uzbek terminology predominantly adapts English conceptual structures through borrowing, semantic calquing, and partial localization. The research contributes to cognitive linguistics, comparative terminology studies, and the development of Uzbek ICT lexicography by providing one of the first systematic analyses of conceptual metaphors in English and Uzbek mobile communication terminology.

Abstract

This article provides a scientific and methodological analysis of the role and effectiveness of digital technologies in developing students’ creative abilities in technology education classes. In the modern educational process, digital tools such as 3D modeling software, graphic design applications, interactive design platforms, online constructors, and simulations facilitate the stimulation of students’ technical creativity, the formation of design thinking, and the development of creative approaches to solving practical problems. The article systematically examines national and international research conducted on the subject. Comparative analyses of experimental studies, pedagogical projects, and the impact of software tools on various components of creativity are presented. The findings indicate that the systematic use of digital technologies significantly enhances students’ abilities to generate independent and non-standard solutions, engage in design and modeling activities, and create products that are both aesthetically and technically sound.
