Abstract

Anti-discriminatory practicioners in many campuses have, so far, focused themselves too much on gender. In fact, there are more than one source of discrimination and oppression. One of them is ableism. Ableism is an ism that categorizes people by seeing their organs of body. For it, people can be divided into two groups. Those are the able and the disable. The able is a group of people who are “normal” in term of their organs of body. Conversely, the disable is a group of people who are “abnormal”in term of those. The categorization leads to discriminatory acts and views of “normal” people to the disable. One of Requirements of enrolling to schools or jobs is that the candidate should be physically and spiritually healthy. This condition makes many “disable” people eliminated from the competition. In order to combat the discrimination, one of the ideas is exchanging the term disable/disability with diffable/diffability. Another idea is inclusive education. That is an education system which put the diffable and the non-diffable in one class. This system is very effective for combatting discrimination and campaigning democracy and equality in life.

Abstract

One of education goal is how to realize fair society, by not discriminate one sex. But the reality exist discrimination at education that necessitate several effort to solve it, on of it is by formulating curriculum that have gender perspective. Curriculum is a development of vision and mission of educational institution that want to realize education goal. Gender curriculum is based on an assumption that woman and man are equal in education, and have equal opportunity to get education. In its application, gender curri­culum can be formulated implicitly (hidden curriculum), or explicitly (overt curriculum). However, to explain gender problems we recommend explicit way.

Abstract

Pendidikan Islam di Syiria adalah bagian dari strategi besar negara tersebut menuju nation-building. Sejalan dengan kebijakan pemerintah untuk mengeliminasi semua perbedaan di antara bangsa Syiria, pengajaran Islam di sekolah menanamkan ajaran Islam Sunni kepada semua muslim Syiria tanpa memandang suku. Namun, kurikulum agama ini berkebalikan dengan agenda pemerintah menuju sekularisme. Kurikulum agama Islam mengajarkan ketidaksetaraan di antara bangsa Syiria yang beragama Islam dan non-Islam. Ketidaksetaraan ini, yang menyebabkan perlakuan yang berbeda terhadap non-muslim, menjadikan mereka merasa tidak nyaman, dan pada akhirnya gelombang imigrasi ke negara lain pun terus terjadi.

Abstract

Islamic education must be directed from paradigm that past oriented (middle age) to the future. Not just preserve advancement, but also pioneering progress. Feudal paradigm must been replaced by Islam education paradigm that innovative and democratic. Therefore, we need harmonious planning and mutual agreement, that Islamic education must oriented to student, have multicultural character, and global perspective. Education has to become liberation process, not social and cultural domestication. One important aspect is to manifesting teacher professionalism that identified from competence aspect, responsibility, honesty, discipline, and high dedication to guard student to their successfulness.

Abstract

Educator obliged to have skill to develop learning strategy that enjoyable (edutainment) so that student motivated to learn continuously. In that happy situation, educator can apply active and creative learning strategy to shape good character. This effort has made Islamic education developed and attracts people’s interest for its quality. Islamic educator and institution as madrasah and PTAI (Perguruan Tinggi Agama Islam—higher Islamic college) known as education plus because combine science and religion with trusted quality. Therefore, some important key concepts are method, strategy, and learning technique that have dynamic character and based on Islam’s perspective.

nowadays, internet becomes worldwide life style. E-mail, chatting, sites, web, blog, and other electronic terms like e-book, e-learning, e-journal, become an inseparable part of life. Electronic—especially internet—has great impact on civilization, positive and negative. At education domain, internet can become supporting, obstacle, or even depraving factor. As a learning and education media, internet offer more flexible autodidact learning. Many variation offered by sites that concentrated on Arabic language learning. Online self-learning can increase student enthusiasm, even have to be supported by other education aspect in order to reach successful learning.

Abstract

Moral education is a spirit of Islamic education. The purpose of education is not merely filling student’s brain with all knowledge they’d known before, but rather to teach akhlâq to their soul, internalizing fadîlah (virtue), accustoming good manner, and prepare them to live an honesty life. The main direction of Islamic education is highly moral people, with pure spirit, strong intention, lofty inspiration and moral, know and do their responsibility and obligation, respect human right, and always remembering Allah on every their activity.

Abstract

Indonesian government reformation affected changing paradigm, from centralization to decentralization, that evident from real and broad autonomy by local government to manage and improve their territory, include education management. The realization is emergence Dewan Pendidikan (education board) at district level and Komite Sekolah (school committee) at education unit level. This enhances community direct involvement to education domain. School committee have role as advisory agency, supporting agency, controlling agency, also as mediatory agency. Therefore, school committee must cooperate with community and government to run quality education.

Abstract

in 21st century globalization and information era, information become one critical resource that determining global competence. Meanwhile, education role become determining factor that encourage technology transfer, adaptation and its propagation. One of technology effect in education and learning are availability learning resources and media for learner. Therefore, teacher, instructor, or lecturer not becomes only one information source. Because learning process identical with information transmission process or communication process, therefore learning media have to be more innovative and interactive, example learning multimedia designed with computer aided known as CBI or Computer-Based Instructional.

Abstract

Globalization, with its entire power, has serious implication for Islamic higher education’s existence, primarily related with tight and open competition. This competition necessitated Islamic higher education to continuously revitalizing its education system and management, also revitalization and improvisation on its marketing system. Islamic higher educations must proactive and creative, not only waiting still. Therefore, marketing management that widely used at company domain, substantively its system and spirit must be implemented and adapted on Islamic higher education’s marketing system.
