Abstract

Essentially, not all students can do their school tasks well and authentically because some of them may face many problems of life which certainly affect for their study. Therefore, it is necessity that some students do need intensive guidance for their success in both study and life. In addition, to get success for all students without any exception the councelors should apply individual and collective guidance. If all students can solve their problems, so they can study well; and consequently, they have many chances to get success in study that will support the success in life. This paper is focused on elaborating the role of guidance and couceling, either individually and collectively, for students’ success.

Abstract

Civil society concept is a new pursuit of Indonesian nation, especially after reformation era. Civil society formed through several ways and policy, one that relative effective is by education, with formal institute or at society. In spite of the fact that Education System act (UU Sisdiknas) is enough comprehensive to form holistic Indonesian people, there’s bias in its implication. This article is trying to trace different education theory, from several schools of thought, namely empiricism, nativism, naturalism, convergence, progressivism, essentialism, perennials, and constructivism. Those different thought affect education process, include its implication to build civil society. Teacher role, also school curriculum, leaning model, and tools and resources have critical role to reach desirable learning result.

Abstract

The instruction of Integrated Science at Junior High School considers with the use of Inquiry Approach. The students are provided with the daily reality occurs in their life. The Integrated Science at Junior High School has some features covering the developing ability in questioning, searching the questions, understanding the questions, and completing the questions on “what”, “why”, and “how” about the natural symptom as well as its characteristics systematically that to be applied in the environment and the technology. Such understanding of that integrated should be balanced with the students’ psychology in which they are led to the content, so the process and the psychomotor are more urgent but the cognitive side is not to be ignored.

Abstract

Dekade Pendidikan untuk Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (United Nation’s Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, DESD) dari adalah program PBB yang bertujuan mempersiapkan anak didik menghadapi parahnya persoalan ekonomi dan lingkungan. Dalam artikel ini, penulis membuktikan bahwa penekanan semata pada tujuan ambisius, yakni pembangunan berkelanjutan, memunculkan pertanyaan penting bagi etika pendidikan. Khususnya, penulis menyoal bahwa misi dan kurikulum DESD seringkali gagal mem­perhitungkan akibat bagi lingkungan, yang tak terelakkan adanya dalam setiap pengambilan keputusan. Lebih lanjut, tujuan DESD tidak secara memadai berfokus pada pembangunan skill pengambilan keputusan dan pembedayaan etis. Pada akhirnya, disimpulkan bahwa kurikulum DESD harus secara kritis dan konstruktif mengakui adanya akibat terhadap lingkungan.

The principle of education humanistic make from progressivism, namely child centered education. The teacher has a democratic and cooperative role, participation in student activity. Literature learning can be used as student’s self development, in form interest and talent realization. This implemented with reading, writing, and appreciation activity. From these three activity, literature learning at school can reach there main learning competence, namely affective, cognitive, and psychomotor competence. But literature learning still not reaches optimal outcome, explicit from lack of Indonesia writer that “born” from literary faculty.

Iqbal’s Islamic education basic principle properly entitled “modern” because he has trying to synthesize education. Abstract

From a recent research in psychology, revealed that IQ is not only factor that affect learning performance. One of other factor is emotional intelligence (EQ). This article explore the relation between EQ and learning performance, based on survey at 2nd grade State High school (SMAN 2) Mataram. Emotional intelligence is one’s capability to recognize and manage emotion, self-motivation, recognize others emotion (empathy), and ability to build relation (cooperation) with others. Learning performance is learning outcome from learning activity that measured and rated academically at report figure. SQ scale used here based on Daniel Goleman theory. The result is that there are relation between emotional intelligence and learning performance.

Abstract

: Multidimensional crisis at our country is based on value (akhlak) crisis that emerge from lack of spiritual intelligence. To solve this complex problem, we need spiritual quotient development that based on lofty values namely iman, Islam, and ikhsan principle, so that we can optimize emotional quotient and intellectual quotient all at once.
