Abstract

The scariest and most popular virus in the past months is COVID 19. Its threat to life is felt globally. It caused distancing among people, made a person a suspect as host or carrier and effected lockdowns, businesses to crumble, transportation to stop, extreme increase in the usage of internet and social media and loss of lives. Majority had scrambled to shield themselves from the virus and businesses to adapt measures ensuring continuity. The study focused on mitigation of negative impacts of COVID 19 and the compliance of employees to health and safety protocols. The fifty-five employees provided the data gathered through online. Results found that transactions were limited to one (1) employee only, entrance of customers was reduced, time-regulated oral transactions, close contact was avoided and window transactions were encouraged. Likewise, employees complied and protect themselves by wearing masks, washing hands before entering, having face shields worn properly, sanitizing their hands before and after contact with high-touch surfaces, having access to hand hygiene stations and supplies and having facilities for clients to wash. The variables considered in the study age, sex, monthly income and years of employment have no bearing on the mitigation on the impact of COVID 19 and compliance of the employees to health and safety protocols. Keywords: mitigation, safety, protocol, compliance

Abstract

This paper explores the emerging herbal tourism in Catur village, Kintamani Bali. It chronicles the development of women empowerment program through the cultivation of herbal medicinal plants in a demonstration plot by Universitas Dhyana Pura and in the family medicinal gardens program (TOGA) of the women farmers’ association (KWT) members, followed by the production, packaging, and marketing of herbal products in the form of healing oil, face oil, hair oil, massage oil, scrubs, and herbal beverages. The article follows the four-year empowerment project, beginning in 2016, which since the initiation of Catur as a tourism village (desa wisata) in 2018 has become one of the unique selling propositions of this rural tourism destination. Since 2018, the project has expanded to cover the village-wide Women for Family Prosperity Assembly (PKK), fostering green entrepreneurship movement among the women within the Catur village community—both related and unrelated to the herbal project. Using the logical framework in analyzing the steps in the women empowerment efforts through herbal plants and products, eventually supporting herbal tourism, this paper discusses the gap between the problems faced by the women in the community and the long-term desired state, then describes the activities taken followed by the outputs produced and the outcomes achieved from the project, and notes some apparent impacts that have occurred in the community since the inception of the project. Keywords: community development, empowerment, green entrepreneurship, herbal products, women

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic does affect not only human life but also has a massive effect on economics and business welfare. In Indonesia, food and beverage service are one of the most affected business sectors at the early stage of COVID-19 transmission. In this sector, employees experience severe shocks due to the unstable existing policies causing psychological anxiety. Moreover, most companies implemented new policies such as reduced working hours, salary deductions, and temporary layoffs. Employee organizational commitment is one of the most valuable aspects of maintaining a company's sustainability in the VUCA situation. In this study, we conducted a quantitative analysis of 292 respondents using the Structural Equation Model to know the effect of Psychological Capital and Job Insecurity on Organizational Commitment by using Work Engagement as a mediating variable. The results state that psychological capital affects employee organizational commitment positively. In contrast, job insecurity has a negative impact on organizational commitment. The indirect effect of work engagement has a significant role in mediating the relationship between psychological capital and organizational commitment, but not for job insecurity. This research is expected to provide new insight for the management or business owners, especially in the food and beverage service sector, about which aspects are essential to maintain workers during the shock of the COVID-19 pandemic so that both workers and organizations can survive in conditions full of uncertainty.

Abstract

Environmental factors must be taken into account when operating a business in order to keep it viable. Giving sustainability courses utilizing a sustainable development strategy aims to increase students' environmental awareness so they may incorporate environmental care in their business. Students from the Faculty of Business at President University who took a course on sustainability and gained a grasp of its guiding principles were the subjects of this study. The stipulation that the students from the Faculty of Business who had taken the course applied to the sample selection was deliberate. A questionnaire was used to collect the data, which was then analyzed descriptively. According to the results, children' behavior shows that they are already aware of the importance of conserving resources like water, food, and electricity. The majority of students acknowledge that there is water, air, and soil pollution, but they also think that environmental preservation activities are still poorly understood and self-sufficient.

Abstract

PT Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM) is a major cigarette manufacturer in Indonesia. GGRM was listed on the Jakarta and Surabaya Stock Exchanges on August 27, 1990. GGRM has shown resilience throughout the crisis (pandemic covid-19) and delivered positive earnings, but its price has continued to fall from July 2018 to August 2021. During the same period, foreign ownership of GGRM decreased. The decline in foreign ownership was followed by a decline in GGRM's price. The decrease in foreign ownership was the impact of the net foreign sell of GGRM. This study explores the impacts of foreign ownership and net foreign transactions on the price of GGRM and the significance of the two variables on the GGRM price. The study used secondary data available at www.IDX.co.id and www.ksei.co.id for the years 2018-2021. The multiple linear regression method was used to analyze the data. SPSS version 25 was utilized for data processing. The analysis showed that foreign ownership and net foreign transactions had a positive effect on the price of GGRM. However, only foreign ownership affects the price of GGRM stock significantly.

Abstract

The instability and failure of implementing supply chain collaboration in all industries to date remain quite high. The selection of partners is one of the many factors determining the success of the collaboration, which is very limited in the research conducted. So that the influence of partner selection criteria on the success of this collaboration is the background of this research. The notion of work-related motivation and consideration of partners is still a parameter that is often used in previous research. Technological advances and the current business environment conditions that cause supply chain collaboration to be required to process information sharing and share possible risks that occur, the criteria for partner technology competence and partner supply chain risks become additional criteria that determine the success of the collaboration. In addition to examining the dominant partner criteria to improve company performance, this study will also examine the contribution of supply chain collaboration to company performance through collaborative benefits. Descriptive analysis, measurement model, and structural model using Structural Equation Model (SEM) with a scale of 6 Likert used in quantitative research on 151 companies providing export and import services in Indonesia.
