Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of organizational stress among personnel at West Visayas State University - Lambunao Campus. A total of 61 respondents were conveniently selected with their consent to participate in the study. An adapted and modified survey questionnaire was utilized to assess the participants' organizational stress levels in four key areas: task demand, physical demand, role demand, and interpersonal demand. Additionally, the study examined differences in stress levels when grouped according to personal-related factors. The research employed a descriptive-survey design, utilizing statistical tools such as frequency, mean, Kruskal-Wallis H Test, and Mann-Whitney U Test for data analysis. The findings revealed that the personnel experienced a moderately high level of organizational stress in task demands, physical demands, and role demands, while a low level of stress was observed in interpersonal demands when analyzed by personal-related factors. Furthermore, the study identified that marital status, monthly income, length of service, position for staff, and additional assignments for faculty were associated with higher levels of stress in terms of task and physical demands. This suggests that faculty and staff with heavier workloads or increased responsibilities are more likely to experience higher stress levels compared to those with fewer responsibilities. The results also indicate that higher levels of demand, a sub-component of stress, can lead to decreased work performance.

Abstract

The study produced jam that was combined with cabbage and calamansi juice. It calculated the amount of ingredients needed to make jam (10g calamansi juice and 15g chopped cabbage), as well as the product's acceptability in terms of appearance, aroma, taste, and texture. The items came from three treatments: Control (Treatment 1), 10g of calamansi juice in Treatment 2, and 10g of calamansi juice and 15g of chopped cabbage in Treatment 3. The t-test and ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) were used to analyze the data in order to find the treatment differences that were statistically significant. Experts' sensory evaluation of T1-Jam (Control), T2-Jam with calamansi juice, and T3-Jam with calamansi juice & Cabbage compared to T1-Jam (Control) showed that all three treatments had somewhat similar adjectival descriptions, despite differences in their means. Regarding T2-Jam with Calamansi Juice, it outperformed the other two treatments in terms of mean scores for appearance, aroma, and texture; however, texture received a lower score than the mean for all three quality attributes. Treatment 2 had the highest overall mean among the quality attributes, while treatment 3 had the lowest. When the acceptability of the jam was tested in three different treatments, treatment 3 had the lowest acceptability, while the jam with calamansi juice had the highest acceptability. The sensory evaluation conducted by experts taking gender into account revealed a significant difference in the treatments given to males and females in terms of the appearance, aroma, and taste of the jam made with calamansi juice and the jam made with calamansi juice and cabbage. Age differences could be seen in the appearance of T1—jam (control) and T3—jam with calamansi juice and cabbage. T1 - jam (Control) and T3 - jam with calamansi juice & cabbage differed from each other in terms of aroma, and T3 was clearly different in terms of texture. The sensory evaluation of experts based on income results revealed a significant difference in the quality of the jam. T1 - jam (control) and T3 - jam with calamansi juice & cabbage - had different appearances and aromas. There was a taste difference between T2-jam with calamansi juice and T3-jam with calamansi juice & cabbage; however, there was only a texture difference between the two jams. The sensory evaluation of experts on the quality of the jam revealed a significant difference in texture and aroma between T3 - Jam with calamansi juice & cabbage and T1 - Jam (Control). The results showed that there was a difference in appearance between T2 (jam with calamansi juice) and T3 (jam with calamansi juice and cabbage), as well as between the two groups overall. Age-related differences in taste were noticeable between T2-jam with calamansi juice and T3-jam with calamansi juice and cabbage. When comparing the acceptability of products based on income between treatments, the appearance, aroma, and texture of treatment 2 (jam made with calamansi juice) showed a significant difference. Treatment 2 (jam with calamansi juice) and Treatment 3 (jam with calamansi juice & cabbage according to taste) both showed variation. Overall, there was a noticeable difference in the products' quality attributes between Treatment 1-Jam (Control) and Treatment 2-Jam with calamansi juice. Similar differences were observed in the appearance, taste, aroma, and texture of the jam with calamansi juice and cabbage compared to the jam (control).

One of the important elements that can positively encourage corporate sustainability can be measured through the quality dimension of earnings. The length of time that separates the management cutoff from the audit report issuance response might have an impact on the financial statements' quality, particularly in regards to the reported earning quality. For companies that have gone public, higher disclosure quality will provide a positive signal to investors that the operations carried out are able to show resilience that leads to sustainability in the future. Earning quality in this study will be measured through the level of earning smoothness, earning surprice, closeness to cash and accrual quality.  Additionally, the impact on earning quality will be greater if the organization has a larger earning volatility ratio. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the company's earning quality is impacted by earning volatility and audit report latency. With a total of 170 data, this study employs a linear regression test via the SPSS 26 test tool. The hypothesis test results show that the earning volatility ratio and earning quality have a significant relationship. Earning quality is significantly impacted by both earning volatility and audit report lag at the same time.

Abstract

The main objectives of the study were to determine the cytotoxic activity of star apple (Chrysophyllum cainito) fruit extract and peel extract using brine shrimp (Artemia salina) effects assay. This study is limited to determine the anticancer potential of the different concentration of star apple (Chrysophyllum cainito) fruit extract and peel extract against the mortality rate of brine shrimp (Artemia salina). Using brine shrimp brine shrimp, the lethal concentration (LC) of a plant extract that results in 50% mortality (LC ₅₀) is measured. Three treatments were prepared (Treatment A – 10 mL star apple (Chrysophyllum cainito) fruit extract, Treatment B – 10 mL star apple (Chrysophyllum cainito) peel extract, Treatment C (Control) – 10 mL Distilled water) with three replicates. Ten brine shrimps were tested for their mortality rate and were recorded after 15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes of application. The different concentration of star apple (Chrysophyllum cainito) fruit extract and peel extract does not have anticancer potential based on the mortality of brine shrimp (Artemia salina) brine shrimp.

Abstract

In order to stabilize the price and supply of tilapia, improve the diet of tilapia, and save the livelihood of farmers across the nation, it is urgent to address the dependence on fish-based feed. The objective of this study is to create workable diets for Nile tilapia that reduce their reliance on fish-based products and find alternative sources of protein, while also fattening and enhancing growth development. This study aimed to answer the following questions, if the developed feed is effective in improving the growth of the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in terms of length and mass, which among the three treatments are the most effective in improving growth, and if there is a significant difference between treatments. To test the hypothesis that the feed developed from this study is effective in improving the growth of the Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in terms of length and mass, an experiment was conducted, different treatments were made and applied to the tilapia, it is comprised of three treatments, treatment A with 66.7% (66.7g) golden apple snail, 10.65% (10.65g) Azolla (Azolla pinnata), 22.67% (22.67g) rice bran, treatment B with 66.6% (66.6g) golden apple snail, 10.3% (10.3g) kangkong (Ipomoea aquatica), 23.1% (23.1g)rice bran and treatment C fish feed (100g). The treatments were applied for 30 days. The results acquired were analyzed using one-way ANOVA in the SPSS software. The findings show that treatment B is the most effective treatment, but the three treatments have no significant difference in terms of mass and length.
