Abstract

 Diperlukan pengetahuan dasar tentang besarnya energi dan gaya yang dibutuhkan pada proses pemecahan cangkang biji kemiri untuk mendapatkan daging biji kemiri bulat utuh. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode menjatuhkan biji dari berbagai level ketinggian kemiri dan metode menjatuhkan beban mengenai biji kemiri. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa dengan metode menjatuhkan biji kemiri dari berbagai level ketinggian diperoleh bahwa ketinggian optimum untuk memecahkan biji kemiri pada posisi intersep C dengan kadar air 6%  adalah dari ketinggian 9 m dengan gaya sebesar 1,52 N. Sementara dengan metode menjatuhkan beban 209,7 gr mengenai biji kemiri diperoleh gaya 6,52 N dan menjatuhkan beban 182,64 gr diperoleh gaya 6,26 N. Untuk keseluruhan metode dibutuhkan energi sebesar 1 joule untuk memecahkan cangkang biji kemiri.   Basic knowledge about amount of energy and breaking force of the candlenut deshelling process is needed to get a whole round kernel. The study was conducted by dropping the candlenut from various level of height and dropping the load on the candlenut. The result showed that the method of droping candlenut from various levels of height was obtained that the optimum height to break the candlenut in the intercept C position with a water content of 6% was 9 m with a force of 1,52 N. While by dropping a load of 209,7 gr obtained a force of 6,52 N and dropping a load of 182,64 gr obtained a force of 6,26 N. For the whole method an energy of 1 joule is needed to break the shell of the candlenut.

Abstract

The aim of study is to analyze the factors that affect the production of organic rice farm and non-organic rice farm businesses, comparison of organic rice farm and non-organic rice farm businesses and analyze appropriateness of organic rice farm and non-organic rice farm businesses in researh area. The method of study that used was multiple linear regression analysis, method of cultivation analysis and feasibility analysis. The data used is primary and secondary. The result of study concluded on the independent variabel analysis of organic rice farm and non-organic rice farm businesses, the most dominant in influencing the output on organic rice which are pesticides and fertilizer. Meanwhile, the rice farm is non organic, the most dominant in influencing the output on non organic rice which are seeds and breadth of land. Organic rice farm incomes in Lubuk Bayas village Perbaungan sub district Serdang Bedagai regency is Rp 25.753.659,/ha and the income of non organic farm business is Rp 20.503.554,-/ha. Non organic rice farm business has R/C value higher than organic rice.

Abstract

North Sumatera is the third largest producer of eggplant, therefore, postharvest handling of eggplants needs to be done, precooling, to maintain physic quality of eggplant from farming to consumer. Temperature is the one of main factor to effect respiration rate and change in physical quality of eggplants. Precooling and cold storage is applied. Predicting of respiration rate based on Arrhenius Equation. Result research showed that high score activation energy is precooling 10 minute, precooling 20 minute, and the lower score is non precooling. The best combination of treatments eggplant is precooling and then cold storage.

Abstract

The Attitude of Farmers in Increasing the Capacity of Organic Rice Production in the city of Binjai. This study aims to analyze the level of attitude of farmers and influcung factors in increasing the capacity of organic rice production in the city of Binjai. Primary data obtained from 41 farmers using a questionnaire that has been compiled. The analysis used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis using the Statistical Product Service Solution (SPSS) program version 16. Secondary data were obtained from agencies related to this research, namely the Department of Agriculture and Food Crops of Binjai City. The location of the final project activity is in Binjai City and the implementation time is from March  - May 2020.  The results of this study indicate the level of farmers' attitudes in increasing the capacity of organic rice production in the very high category 91.05%. Variable factors that influence the level of farmers' attitudes in developing organic rice production capacity, are obtained equations as followsbn namely, knowledge variables with regression coefficient (0.162), farming experience (0.201), land area (0.231), capital ownership (0.255), access to production facilities (0.191). ), technology (0.255), and market variables (0.187). Overall, the assessment variables had a significant and very significant effect on farmers' attitudes in developing organic rice production capacity, which had a very dominant effect is the capital ownership variable.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian berjudul "Penggabungan Bahan Aktif Insektisida  dalam Pengendalian Hama Lalat Buah Pada Tanaman Jeruk (Citrus sinensis L.) Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak (RAK) non faktorial dengan kombinasi obat, sebagai berikut; C1 = bahan aktif Fenvalerat 1,5 cc / liter air, C2 = bahan aktif Acephate 1 g / liter air, C3 = bahan aktif Cypermethrin 1,5 cc / liter air, C4 = bahan aktif Acephate + Fenvalerat + 2,5 cc / liter air, C5 = bahan aktif Cypermethrin + Fenvalerat + 2,5 cc / liter air, C6 = bahan aktif Cypermethrin + acephate + 2,5 cc / liter air, C7 = bahan aktif Acephate + Fenvalerat + Cypermethrin 3,5 cc / liter air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa campuran 3 jenis bahan aktif insektisida dapat menekan persentase serangan lalat buah sehingga dapat menyelamatkan buah untuk produksi yang lebih tinggi.

Abstract

Chyperus rotundus L. is a weed that is very fast spreading, growing and developing. Nut weeds can have a high adaptability seen from the ability to grow in various types of land. Starting from dry land, humid land to wet / inundated or muddy land. Sandy, clay or sandy loam land. This nut weed also has a high competitive power in terms of its ability to compete with other weeds, to keep growing and tends to be the dominant weed in a planted area. Various attempts were made to suppress the growth of this weed nut. Mulch is a method used to suppress the growth of nut weeds in this study. There are three types of mulch used in this study, namely rice husks, rice straw and reeds and control treatment. The three mulches were applied to two thicknesses, namely the thickness of 250 gr / plot and 500 gr / plot. The results showed that the inorganik mulch treatment of rice husks, straw and alang alang and its thickness of 250 g / m² and 500 g / m² did not have a significant effect in suppressing the growth of nut weed (Chyperus rotundus L.). Straw mulch first undergoes decomposition compared to rice husk mulch and Imperata, so that the percentage of growth of shallot (allium cepa L.) plants is higher than with submerged mulch and reeds.

Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul “Perlakuan Pembelahan Umbi Bibit dan Perendaman Fungisida Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Produksi Kentang (Solonum tuberosum L.)yangtelah dilaksanakan di BIH Kuta Gadung Berastagi, Penelitian dilakukan sejak bulan Maret – Juni 2014. Bertujuan Mengetahui pengaruh pembelahan umbi bibit kentang, perendaman larutan Fungsida terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman kentang dan untuk mengetahui interaksi antar pembelahan umbi bibit dengan larutan Fungsida pada pertumbuhan dan produksi. Rancangan percobaan yang dilakukan adalah dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial. Faktor pertama adalah pengujian pembelahan umbi bibit kentang (B) terdiri dari Yo (tanpa pembelahan), B1 (pembelahan menjadi 2), B2 (pembelahan menjadi 4). Faktor II adalah pengujian dosis fungisida (K) terdiri dari Ko (tanpa fungisida), K1 (1g/lt air), K2 (3 g/lt air) dan K3 (6 g/lt air). Hasil penelitian pembelahan umbi bibit memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata (p > 0.05) terhadap pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman pada 5 dan 6 mst, Produksi (per sampel dan plot) dan sebagai bibit yang terbaik adalah tanpa pembelahan (Yo . Penggunaan dosis fungisida (K) juga memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata (p > 0.05) terhadap pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman (5 dan 6 mst) dan Produksi. Pengaruh kombinasi perlakuan berdasarkan analisa tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata (p < 0.05) dan sebagai dosis anjuran digunakan adalah kombinasi bibit tanpa pembelahan dan penggunaan fungisida pada 3 g/liter air (BoK2).

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether factors of education, number of dependents, experience, level of income, and age affect the productivity of oil palm harvest workers in PT. LONSUM Lima Puluh Regency of Batu Bara. 2). To find out how much productivity the oil palm harvester labor in PT. LONSUM Fifty Batubara Regency.This type of research is a study case (case study). Simple random sampling technique is a sampling that provides the same opportunity to every member who is in a population to be sampled. Data collection methods are primary data obtained directly from farmers and secondary data obtained from relevant agencies such as offices at PT. LONSUM Fifty. The analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis.Results of the study 1. From the results of the statistical tests simultaneously it was obtained that the variable number of responsibilities, experience, income and age had a significant or significant effect on the productivity of harvest employees, while the education level variable had no partial effect on the productivity of harvest employees. 2. Partially only the number of dependents, income and age variables significantly influence labor productivity while the variables, education level and experience do not significantly influence employee productivity. 3. It is known that the FFB Production Value / month is 2,646 bunches / month with a total of 26 working days. Then the level of productivity of employees harvested per day is 101 bunches / Hk.

Abstract

Tanaman kentang merupakan tanaman sayuran yang sangat diminati oleh konsumen. Dalam teknik budidaya, salah satu faktor penting yang mempengaruhi produktivitas adalah pembuahan. Penggunaan pemupukan yang tepat akan mempengaruhi produktivitas. Oleh karena itu, penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pupuk Fosfat dan belerang pada pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman kentang varietas granola pada polybag. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan April - Agustus 2016 di kebun percobaan Berastagi, dengan ketinggian ± 1340 meter di atas permukaan laut, tipe tanah andisol. Desain yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial dengan 3 ulangan, dimana Faktor 1 = Dosis Fosfat (P0: 0, P1: 100 kg P2O5 / ha, P2: 150 kgP2O5 / ha, P3: 200 kg P2O5 / ha). Faktor 2 = Sulfur dosis (S0: 0, S1: 30 kg S / ha, S2: 60 kg S / ha, S3: 90 kg S / ha). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pupuk fosfat dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan vegetatif tanaman kentang, pupuk fosfat dapat meningkatkan produksi umbi kentang. Pupuk belerang tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan vegetatif dan produksi kentang.

Abstract

Corn is the second important food crop commodity after rice. Besides being used as food, corn is also used as animal feed. The low yield of maize is caused by many factors including physical factors (climate, soil and land types) and biological factors (varieties, pests, diseases and weeds), as well as socio-economic factors. The polyphagous nature of Helicoverpa armigera and the unavailability of varieties that are resistant to these pests have caused control practices to be carried out to date still depend on the use of insecticides. Biological control agents such as M. anisopliae, Beauveria bassiana, and Bacillus thuringiensis are the main control components. Utilization of biological agents has several advantages, especially selectivity, although it must be admitted that it is not as effective as insecticides with chemically active ingredients. The use of entomopotagen fungi is an environmentally friendly pest control and can be propagated by farmers. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of environmentally friendly entomopathogenic fungi in controlling corn cob pests (Helicoverpa armigera) and corn stem borer (Spodoptera frugiferda) in Banjaran Deliserdang Village. The research method used is non-factorial RAK. From this study it was found that the intensity of S. frugiferda attack with the use of the entomopathogenic fungus B. bassiana showed the best effect with the intensity of S. frugiferda attack which was 9.28% while the H. armigera pest used B. bassiana with an attack intensity of 9.08%. The use of B. bassiana can reduce the attack of S. frugiferda pests on corn plantations.
