Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of dairy farming business seen from its financial aspects and to find out how much profit gained from the overall investment invested. This research was carried out on the dairy farming business at PT Sari Indah, West Pekalongan Subdistrict, Pekalongan City. The research method used is the case study method. The selection of research locations with consideration of PT Sari Indah's dairy farming business is a profitable business because it is able to carry out livestock farming independently, and produce milk with good quality. The data analysis in this study was used, namely: Return On Investment (ROI), the results showed that the ROI value was 35.89%. The conclusion of this study is the dairy farming business of PT. Sari Indah was declared financially feasible because it was able to generate a return on investment invested, and the revenue received was greater than

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Dusun Namo Keling Desa Suka Dame, Kecamatan Kutalimbaru dan Desa Tambunen, Kecamatan Sibolangit, Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 25 petani. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari penyediaan bibit (X1), penyiapan lahan (X2), penanaman (X3), irigasi (X4), penjarangan anakan (X5), pemupukan (X6), sanitasi lahan (X7), pemotongan jantung (X8) dan pengendalian hama dan penyakit (X9), sedangkan variabel terikat adalah produksi pisang barangan Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan penyediaan bibit (2,39), penjarangan anakan (-2,44), pemupukan (2,37), sanitasi lahan (2,40) dan pengendalian hama (2,35) berpengaruh nyata terhadap produksi pisang barangan, sedangkan penyiapan lahan, penanaman, irigasi, pemotongan jantung pisang berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap produksi pisang barangan. Hasil produk pisang barangan teknik modern 12,21 ton/ha dan teknik tradisional 9,64 ton/ha.

Abstract

Advanced knowledge of candlenut deshelling machine is needed to obtain optimal whole round kernel. The objective of this study was to modify the rotor bar on a candlenut deshelling machine with a ripple mill system. The method was engineering or modification, were made in the form of processes and products. The number of grooves on the rotor bar was modified became 2, 4 and 6. Rotation speed of the rotor bar were varied to 15 rpm, 18.75 and 25 rpm. The number of grooves gave a very significant effect on the capacity of the machine, whole round kernel, broken kernel, sticky kernel and unbroken seeds. The rotational speed of the rotor bar gave a very significant effect on the capacity of the machine, broken kernel, and sticky kernel, and gave an insignificant effect on whole round kernel and broken kernel. Interaction between the number of grooves and the rotational speed of the rotor bar gave a very significant effect on the capacity of the machine and the sticky kernel and insignificant effect on the whole round kernel, crushed kernel and unbroken seeds.

Abstract

The research was conducted with the aim to determine the right concentration between rice starch and sorbitol, and to determine the effect of the storage time of salacca fruit given an edible coating. The research used factorial RAL (complete randomized design) method. Factor 1 = Sorbitol concentration, cassava starch and distilled water consists of: S0 = Sorbitol concentration 0 ml (control); S1 = Sorbitol concentration of 1 ml + pb 10 g + aquades = 500 ml; S2 = Concentration of sorbitol 3 ml + pb 10 g + aquades 500 ml; S3 = The concentration of 5 ml sorbitol + pb 10 g + 500 ml distilled water; S4 = 7 ml sorbitol + pb 10 g + 500 ml distilled water; Factor 2 = Storage duration by consisting of: T0 = 0 days; T1 = 3 days; T2 = 6 days; T3 = 9 days; T4 = 12 days; T5 = 15 days. The results of the study were the influence of the use of sorbitol and rice starch as edible coatings on the durability of salak fruit by the use of sorbitol and rice starch on days 1-6 days.

Abstract

Berlimpahnya limbah biji durian pada musim durian belum banyak dimanfaatkan, disisi lain biji durian berpotensi sebagai sumber bahan makanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi nutrisi biji durian yang dijadikan tepung dan pengaruhnya jika dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan Pembuatan cake tepung biji durian. Materi penelitian terdiri dari biji durian yang dijadikan tepung, tepung terigu, emosi player, mentega, gula dan telur Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Rancang Acak Lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan adalah penggunaan tepung biji durian konsentrasi 0,9% (Td1); 100% tepung bijin durian  (Td2); 75% tepung biji durian 25% tepung terigu (Td3) ; 50% tepung biji durian 50% tepung terigu (Td4) 25% tepung biji durian 75% tepung terigu (Td5) 100% tepung terigu dan tepung terigu sebagai (Kontrol). Variabel pengamatan meliputi kadar air, volume , uji organoleptik. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan ragam ANOVA dan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Terkecil dengan program SPSS 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, pengunaan tepung biji durian sebagai bahan pembuatan cake penstabil secara statistik berpengaruh nyata (p0,05) terhadap terbaik pada perlakuan kontrol.

Abstract

The research was aimed to formulation combination of composite flour as partly substitution of wheat flour from blend of wheat flour, sweet potato flour and taro flour. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) Non Factorial, with different level of substitution in percents, i.e :T1 = wheat flour (100%), T2 = wheat flour (75%) : sweet potato flour (25%), T3 = wheat flour (50%) : sweet potato flour (50%), T4 = wheat flour (25%) : sweet potato flour (75%), T5 = wheat flour (75%) : taro flour (25%), T6 = wheat flour (50%) : taro flour (50%), T7 = wheat flour (25%) : taro flour (75%). The parameters analysed were moisture content, ash content, protein content, fat content,carbohydrate content and hedonic value of colour, aroma, flavour and texture. The results showed were significant differences (p<0.5) difference formulation combination of composite flour with different level of substitution. The proximate composition showed that wheat flour had higher protein content (9.46%) and lower carbohydrate content (87.77%), while sweet potato flour had protein content(3.96%) and carbohydrate content (92.92%); taro flour had protein (5.62%) and carbohydrate content (92.83%). The sensory analysis of cake showed significant differences between 100% wheat flour and formulation combination of composite flour samples. It was concluded that formulation composite flour T4 into wheat flour gave the cake with the best overall quality acceptabily.

Abstract

This research is aim to find out how the influence of supervision and working motivation towards discipline of work to employee of Tourism and Culture Department, Karo District. The number of population on this research is about 37 people and all of those made as sample or total sample. For verifying hypothesis which is proposed, there will be done with partial examination, simultaneous examination, and coefficient of determination. The result shows that in partially, variable of supervission and motivation influences discipline of work to employee of Tourism and Culture Department significantly, where the value of tcalculated in supervission variable is 2.272 and value that is calculated according to variable of motivation is 4.431, whereever value of ttableis 1.687. While with simultaneous examination, Fcalculated is calculated with 32, 112 and the value of Ftable is 3.267. So, it is concluded that with simultaneous examination, variable of supervission and motivation influences discipline of work to employee of Tourism and Culture Department significantly too. The result of multiple linear regression obtained with this equation, y = 9,516 + 0,2321X1 + 0,497X2 + e. The Coefficient of determination stated that 0,654 or 65,4 % of discipline of work to employee of Tourism and Culture Department is influenced by supervission and motivation and the residual 34,6 % is influenced by another factor which isn’t researched on this study.

Abstract

Analysis of Marketing of Rawitic Chili (Capsicum frutescens L.) in Barusjahe District, Karo Regency. The method of determining farmer samples was carried out in Simple Random Sampling where the number of chili farmers in the village was 80 kk (head of household), and 20 kk was taken for samples. Data collected in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. Primary data is obtained through direct interviews with farmers and traders using questionnaires that have been prepared previously. Secondary data was obtained from the Karo District Agricultural Service, Channels of cayenne marketing in Sikab Village were divided into two, namely cayenne which was sold to the market (first channel non Ped. Regency collector with a capacity of 74.8 tons) and cayenne sold to the market (second channel through Ped. Collector District with a capacity of 22.6 tons. The results showed that the marketing of cayenne in Karo District has Components of Cost, Price Spread and Share of Cayenne Margin through Marketing Channels I per One Pick up (1.5 tons) Buy Prices Raw Chili from Farmers Rp. 15,000 / kg @ 1,500 kg = 30,000,000, Consumer purchase price Rp. 30,000 / kg @ 1500kg = 45,000,000, - so the Total Profit Margin is 19,364,435. Component Cost, Price Spread and Share of Cayenne Margin through Marketing Channels II per One Pick up (1.5 tons) Buy Prices for Raw Chili from Farmers Rp. 15,000 / kg @ 1,500 kg = 22,500,000, Consumer Purchase Price Rp. 30,000 @ 1500 kg = 45,000,000 so Total Profit Margin 19,184,740, -. From the results above, we can see that the marketing of cayenne through channel I is more efficient than marketing chili through channel II. This happens because the marketing efficiency value in channel I is smaller than the marketing efficiency value on channel II.

Abstract

The effect of Mt. Sinabung eruption has profoundly affected the quality of fruit and vegetable production, in this context is fruit and vegetables. Fruit and vegetable, carrot, strawberry and pakcoy is kind of fruit and vegetable that is consumed by the community especially the communities surrounding both the mountain ranges and the general medan area. The fruit and vegetable are kinds of climateric and the lifespan must be kept. During the transportation of field to market, there wa both mechanical and physical damage.The damage will obviously harm farmers, merchants, and other marketers. So that hydrocooling is applied as a post harvest treatment. Hydrocooling is done right after the harvest, This prosess extracts heat from fruit and vegetables so that respiration and transpiration can continue for a long time.The lack of farmer understanding for post harvest handling is a major problem. Therefore, farmers in aberastagi will be given education and training about post harvest handling (hydrocooling) so they could understand and self applying that will keep their produce fresh. As for the output of this activity is a simple hydrocooling device designed as a visual aid in training. This hydrocooling equipment can also be a reference to training science for schoolchildren in particular agriculture schools and could be a referenceto researchers and developing them.

Abstract

Kacang Kapri atau Ercis merupakan salah satu jenis sayuran, suku polong-polongan yang mudah dijumpai di pasar-pasar tradisional Indonesi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Berastagi, Kecamatan Dolat Rayat, Kabupaten Karo, dengan ketinggian ± 1340 meter dari permukaan laut, jenis tanah andisol. Penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk mengetahui asal benih dan jarak tanam yang tepat untuk meningkatkan produksi polong dan benih bermutu tanaman kacang karpri. Penelitian ini di laksanakan mulai bulan April -  Agustus 2019 Rancangan percobaan yang di gunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor I : Asal Benih (B), B1 = Polong dari 1,2 dan 3 (Pangkal tanaman), B2 = Polong dari 4, 5, dan 6 (Tengah tanaman),  B3 = Polong dari 7, 8, dan 9 (Ujung tanaman). Faktor II : Jarak Tanam (J) J1 = 10 x 100 cm, J2 = 15 x 100 cm, J3 = 20 x 100 cm.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa asal benih tidak mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman, jumlah tangkai dan buah, dan produksi polong dan biji kacang kapri. Jarak tanam tidak mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman kacang kapri. Jarak tanam 10 x 100 cm menghasilkan pertumbuhan tanaman dan produksi polong, biji per plot kacang kapri tertinggi.
