Abstract

The Importance of HOTS-Based Student Worksheets in Elementary Schools. High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) in elementary schools can increase students' higher-order thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to analyze the high-grade HOTS-based Student Worksheets in Elementary Schools. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The method used to collect data are interviews, observation, and documentation. The instrument used to collect data is a questionnaire. The research subject is the fourth-grade teacher. The technique used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. This study indicates that the analysis of the high-grade HOTS-based Student Worksheets in elementary schools has been implemented by the teacher quite well. The Student Worksheets made by the teacher have led to higher-order thinking skills, namely C4 (analyzing), C5 (evaluating), and C6 (creating), according to the results of interviews and documentation data. It can be concluded that the analysis of the HOTS-based student worksheets has been realized well. Suggestions that can be given are to re-emphasize High order thinking skills (HOTS) into Student Worksheets so that learning can be maximized in applying HOTS.

Abstract

Difficulty in the calculation process. It has an impact on low mathematics learning outcomes for students. This study aims to analyze students' learning difficulties in terms of mathematical problem-solving abilities in grade III elementary school fractions. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects taken were six students—data obtained through interviews, tests, and documentation. The instrument used to analyze the data is a questionnaire. The technique used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The study results are that students have a score on the aspect of understanding the problem of 50 (33.3%) in the medium difficulty category. The planning aspect has a score of 34 (22.60%) (great difficulty). Implementing the plan has a score of 95 (63.30%) (low difficulty). The re-checking aspect has a score of 98 (65.30%), which is in the low difficulty category. The difficulty is due to the lack of understanding of the questions, errors in determining the correct strategy to solve the problems and difficulties in the calculation process, and the child's low grasping power.

Abstract

Interactive learning media has not yet been developed by utilizing visual media to experience abstract learning difficulties. Students do not understand the material during the learning process. This study aims to develop a media billboard for cow digestion that can be used as an alternative media to help the learning process. This type of research is research and development (R&D), with the development model used being the ADDIE model. Respondents in this study were six teachers and 58 fifth-grade elementary school students. This study involved three material experts and three learning media experts. The techniques used in collecting data are interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is quantitative and qualitative. The results of this study were obtained based on the validity test results from the assessment of the media expert validator with a score of 99% (excellent), learning material expert 98% (excellent). The results of the practicality test were obtained based on the teacher's response assessment of 94% (excellent) and 99% of students (excellent). It can be concluded that the beef digestive billboard media is valid and practical to use on the theme of healthy food, the sub-theme of how the body processes food for fifth-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

The low learning motivation of students in the learning process. The initial motivation of students is 69% (less), namely out of 14 students, only four students meet the indicators of success. It is because teachers still dominate teaching and learning activities so that learning is teacher-centered. In the learning process, some students did not pay attention to the lessons given by the teacher. This study aims to determine the increase in motivation and learning achievement of students through the cooperative model of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions type assisted by audio-visual media. This type of research is classroom action research. The research procedure was carried out in two cycles. The source of the data taken is the entire class V, totaling 14 students. Data collection methods used are documentation, questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis technique used is quantitative and descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed an increase in student motivation. Students' learning motivation in the first cycle reached 74% (enough) as many as 8 students had met the success indicators, and in the second cycle, it was 81% (good) as many as 12 students had met the success indicators. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the Student Teams Achievement Divisions type cooperative model can increase students' motivation and learning achievement.

Abstract

Adolescents are required to be open and firm in expressing their opinions and thoughts to others without losing their self-confidence. However, the data shows that 3.69% still behave and speak dishonestly, 2.30% of students find it challenging to communicate. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between self-concept and student assertive behavior. This study uses a quantitative ex post facto method. The total population used is 101 students. The instrument used in this research is the self-concept scale and the students' assertive behavior scale. The reliability analysis using Cronbach's Alpha formula was obtained from the assertive behavior scale of 0.864, the self-concept scale of 0.894. This figure is then consulted with the product-moment table for N=34, with a 5% significance level of 0.339. The value of the coefficient of determination R2 generated is 0.284, which means that 28.4% of assertive behavior is influenced by self-concept, while the remaining 71.6% can be influenced by other variables not examined. BK teachers should provide guidance and counseling services according to the needs of students. Students who have a high category should be given individual counseling immediately. According to the needs of students at that time.

Abstract

When explaining the material, the teacher only uses blackboard learning media and is monotonous. This has an impact on student learning outcomes are low. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Quizizz Game learning media in increasing enthusiasm and learning outcomes. This type of research is classroom action research. The research subjects were fourth-grade students with 23 students. The data in this study were obtained through pretest, post-test questions contained in the Quizizz Game application from observations and documentation. The instruments used to collect data are questionnaires and tests. The technique used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of the study were that students obtained a percentage of learning completeness of 43.47%. After being given action I, the average score was 72, with a learning completeness percentage of 60.86% in Cycle I. In Cycle II, the average score increased to 85 with a learning completeness percentage of 95.65%. From the analysis above, it can be concluded that the application of the Quizizz Game learning media can increase students' interest and learning achievement. This research implies that teachers can use the application of the Quizizz Game learning media to increase student interest and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Among language skills, writing is considered the most challenging and complicated skill compared to other skills. The main objective of this research is to analyze the improvement of students' writing skills in writing paragraphs through the outline strategy. The participants in this study were 15 fifth grade students. The participants were selected through random sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzed in percentage. Pre-Test and Post-Test were used as instruments in this study. In the Pre-Test and Post-Test the required items such as writing paragraph titles, grammar, spelling and total sentences (length) of paragraphs are the same. According to the findings, in the Pre-Test the students writing paragraphs were 20.00%, 26.66%, 20.00%, 26.66% (Good), 46.66%, 20.00%, 33.33%, 33 ,33% (Average), 33.33%, 53.33%, 46.66% , 40.00% (Weak) in paragraph headings, use of proper grammar, correct spelling and number of sentences (length ) paragraphs, respectively. After the Pre-Test, the instructor taught the participants about writing paragraphs through an outline strategy for 4 weeks and then conducted a Post-Test. In this test, participants in writing paragraphs through the outline strategy were 46.66%, 53.33%, 60.00%, 53.33% (Good), 40.00%, 26.66%, 33.33%, 40 0.00% (Average), 13.33%, 20.00%, 6.66% , 6.66% (Weak) in paragraph headings, use of proper grammar, correct spelling and number of sentences (length ) paragraphs, respectively. This action-based research shows that the outline strategy can improve students' writing skills.

Abstract

The low problem-solving ability of students was due to the lack of student learning activities, so that learning activities were needed that can motivate students to learn and develop problem-solving skills. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of learning activities based on Revised Bloom's Taxonomy on problem-solving abilities. The type of research used was development research with a 4D model. The subjects of this study were four experts and 55 fourth-grade elementary school students. The object of this research was the effectiveness of Revised Bloom's Taxonomy-oriented learning activities. The data collection method used was the non-test method and the test method. The instruments used were questionnaires and description tests. The data analysis technique used was descriptive quantitative statistical data analysis techniques in the form of prerequisite tests and t-tests. The results of this study indicate that the average score of the experimental class was 83.50, while the control class was 74.83, and the t-test results obtained a significance value of 0.969 with an at-count of 0.00 < t-table of 0.05. This research concluded that learning activities based on Revised Bloom's Taxonomy effectively improve students' problem-solving abilities. The implication of this development research was to produce products in the form of learning activities based on Revised Bloom's Taxonomy that can train curiosity, self-confidence and improve students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Science learning packaging still focuses on conventional learning. This causes students to feel bored in learning and have difficulty understanding the material taught by the teacher. This problem affects the students' low science learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the significant differences in science learning outcomes for groups of students who are taught through the application of the SETS approach and students who are taught through conventional learning. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research design with nonequivalent control group design. The population and sample in this study were all students in grades IIIa and IIIb, totaling 61 people. The data collection technique in this research is a test. The technique used to analyze the data is using t-test statistical analysis. The results showed that there was a significant difference in science learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups as seen from the value of tcount = 5.862 > ttable = 2,000. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the SETS approach has an effect on students' science learning outcomes. This research implies that the SETS approach can assist teachers in developing the learning process.

Abstract

Lack of learning support materials and the need for media development to assist teachers in explaining learning materials. Learning is only based on the theme book. Therefore, it is necessary to develop animated videos with a contextual approach to the content of science material. This study aims to develop an animated video learning media with a contextual approach to the content of science material. This type of research is the development of the ADDIE model development research model. Data collection methods used are questionnaires or questionnaires, interview methods, and document recording methods. Data analysis techniques used are qualitative analysis techniques and quantitative analysis techniques. The subject of this research is the development of animated video media. The results of this study are a description of the design and development of animated video media with a contextual approach in the form of product development documentation and validation according to subject content experts' reviews which obtained a score of 100% very good qualification, a review of learning design experts obtained a score of 97% with very good qualifications. Learning media expert reviews obtained a score of 97% with very good qualifications, and media expert reviews were obtained by 97.3% with very good qualifications and group expert reviews with 98.67% gains with very good qualifications. So it can be said as the development of animated video media with a contextual approach is very well used in fourth-grade science material in elementary schools. The research implication is that contextual approach animation video media can help students in learning.
